Before Halloween starts, the official Advent Calendar Drawing Contest is open.

Until the 10th of November, artists can send in their final products via Private Message to CatLady titled Advent Calendar Contest Entry! Make sure to tell her how many entries you have submitted as well.

The only accepted filetypes are png, jpg and jpeg.
It's best to upload on sites that only you and another person via URL can see - not a third person. It’s been like that for past contests as well. imgur dot com, tinypic dot com or for people who have deviantart, please use your sta dot sh (not your main gallery).
It has to be 650 pixels wide x 1000 long in pixels.
Everything must be completely drawn by you! No official work from others, no stock images inside the artwork. Everything has to be done by you! (Brushes are allowed.)

If you manage to win, not only your artwork will be chosen, - but you can decide which Advent Pokémon from previous Events (excluding legendaries) to receive in its shiny form! [, , , , , , , , ]

Now with all the base work done, shall we take a look at today's theme? This December's theme is "Winter Holidays in the Past or Future". How did the Pokémon used to celebrate or lived in the past during Winter holidays? Or imagine how Pokémon will celebrate the Winter holidays in the future! It’s up to you.
You have to draw at least 1 Pokémon.
You are allowed to include your own (and/or others) Pokémon OCs/sonas, but they're not allowed to be alone, meaning you’d have to therefore draw at least 2 Pokémon!

At one point, PokeHeroes had more guests than actual users online. It's still unclear why it happened.
However, there are many theories outside. For example, it could’ve been simply guest clicking, someone using cheat code (also known as scripts), new users wanting to join, etc. The most speculated explanation is that banned users are coming back to the site to have a look.

With a delayed appearance, the Halloween Event has begun on Monday the 23rd of October and stays for 13 days! Dress up as a Ghost , Zombie , Witch ; surprise someone at their door by saying “Trick or Treat” or try to “befriend them on facebook” . But beware: you only have limited power. Level up and come back another time.

In the meantime you can interact with a lot of Pokémon. After buying specific Event Upgrades you can even wring out more Halloween Sweets! Because with the Halloween Sweets you can buy everything else! From event Pokémon, forme changers and plushies!!!

Over the course of recent months using the Global Trade Station has become a weird place. Some spam the GTS full and others just want to become incredibly rich fast and some are stuck in the past and can’t move forward. Until the moment a user has finally snapped starting on the 6th of November. It heated up so much that out of frustration this user left the site.

For clarification, we don’t know both sides. We don’t know the full story of each other and have to stay neutral as possible as witch hunting is forbidden. I’m asking you the same. I know it’s hard to do it. Please remember, first and foremost: this is a game about clicking.
Calm yourself down and come back later. Talk to one another instead of reporting each other immediately. If it’s not working out, don’t engage with one another again.

Totally Not Satire Times

Spam it to win it?

A local PH User recently spammed a Hashtag, after seeing a post prompting them to do it for a chance to win a prize. "I saw the post, and thought I could try my luck at one of those giveaways, I always see people do.", they said in an interview, "I knew it was against the rules, but the prize was a Magikarp! How could I have passed this chance up?".

After logging in the next day, they saw 2 notifications, one congratulating them for winning, and another warning them for breaking the rules. "I was honestly too excited to care about the warning." they stated, "Once this suspension was over, I claimed my prize and became a proud owner of a Magikarp. And of course I will be more careful about the rules in the future, I wouldn't wann- Oh look a giveaway, where I have to reply with my favourite swear word? That seems easy enough."

We haven't heard back from them ever since.

Event calendar begins

In this year's advent calendar event, you can pick between five different calendars. Everyday you can login and get a different task. Once you have completed that task, you will be rewarded with a gift. This gift is different every day. It can be an evolutionary stone, an egg or something else.

Someone who completes 20 days will be rewarded with the option between two new event legendaries! (Maybe something to do with Miraidon and Koraidon?) But if you complete all of them, you receive both.

The advent calendars were made last month by other users of the site in a competition, in which these five art pieces were chosen: I will quickly describe them all. You can also check them out using the link above.

The first one is a lovely one, which BluRay has made of a shiny Goodra giving a present to a Hisuian Goodra.

Professor Oak cheating scandal

For my first article, while searching for something to write about, I went up to professor Rowan to ask him if he wanted to help me. He is a famous man around here and knows everyone on Pokeheroes.

I'm currently helping him in a competition with Professor Oak to see who can train the best Yamper. This is a competition about who is the better professor: there is A LOT on the line here.

While I was making sure our Yamper was the best of the two, Rowan told me Professor Oak was feeding his Yamper rare candies! This changes the competition from being skill-based, to being who can spend the most money. Rowan and me both decided it would be best if we trained him the normal way.

It is to be seen which Yamper is going to be better: a Yamper which is trained manually, or one with rare candies.

A new Event Distribution is rerunning until the 24th of January. You can obtain the material arts baby, Kubfu!
Additionally, its evolution items (Scroll of Darkness and Scroll of Water) can be found while rumbling through galar!

The first egg’s milestone is 8k points. Second one is 14.4k points. For all 3 you need to get 41.6k points! Which is an additional 19.2k points.
The 4th egg is 25.6k points. Lastly for 5 altogether it’s 97.2k points, which alone is 30k points more.

On top of that, the shiny boost is strong~ Let’s get to it, shall we?

Kyurem's in Town!

Kyurem seen in Emera Town

Kyurem has returned to Emera Town in its annual winter migration! In its search for caring trainers who spread the love of interacting, it will offer gifts to trainers who interact a bunch. It could take just a few clicks or it could take hundreds of thousands, so it will reward the most patient of players. But, interacting with berries has a 20% higher chance of causing it to appear!!

This year also sees a second gift from Kyurem available: the Kyurem Plushie! By choosing the plushie, you can increase the chances of getting a shiny Kyurem from the egg! The more plushies you collect in a row, the higher your shiny chances, but be careful, because once you adopt the egg, the chances will reset. If you're a particularly patient trainer going for 100% chance, the chances will roll over to next year.

Kyurem will appear in your userbar, as you can see in this image from the days when PH was in Times New Roman. Dark times they were indeed.

In your Pokéradar history page, you can now click on the images of the shiny Pokémon to go to their profile (so long as it hasn't been released). This feature was suggested by RoyalGecko.

In order to work retroactively, shinies you've already hatched have to be searched for, which might take a little time longer for a couple of Pokémon, so don't worry if the link isn't quite working yet.
