So, I don't know if this has been suggested before, but since the drama from the Magikarp Plushie arose, I would like to make this. I call it- the plushie blocker. This would make it so you can set certain Plushies to not ever be sent to you. Remember the Plushie Favoriting? This would be like that, but basically the opposite. There would be a button next to the star for the favorites that is shaped like the circle with a slash through it, and when pressed on, it would glow a bright red. This way, you don't have to include in your rules a don't send thing, or anything like that. For example, if you absolutely despised Pikachu, and you didn't want any Plushies of him, set the block Plushie option, and whenever someone would try to send you one, it would refuse the request. This would also make it so that if someone were sending a Pikachu Plushie to a random user, you would not be chosen ever by the random user generator(or whatever decides that stuff). This new feature would make it so that people can't troll, or accidentally send a Plushie to someone that doesn't want it. I hope you'll consider this feature. Thank you ^^

for the sake of random plushies there could also be a choice to not be included in the 'random user' algorithm if thats even possible to do, because sometimes you just get a plushie out of nowhere because someone sent it at random and generally that's an unknown factor unless, like me, you state its random. I do that as I send 'completely random' magikarps out when some task requests me to send a plushie as its the most inexpensive one

I really like this idea. People will always have favorites and ones they detest for whatever reason. Being able to opt out is a great way to avoid drama over something so simple.

Maybe have the O symbol in the opposite corner to the star so there is no confusion?

Since I was one of the main stars of the drama of this evening, I'll help this suggestion out with dank visuals to do it justice.

I'm sorry if this comes off as rude and I'm really not trying to be, but literally what is the point of having this?
-- like i really cannot find a legitimate reason anywhere within my brain capacity to see why this is necessary.

Yes, everyone has their favorites and their least favorites, but they're literally just pixels all on a game. I don't understand why people are getting triggered just for being sent something they don't like when at the end of the day, you close your browser and it doesn't affect you in any way, shape or form in real life.

Let's take this into consideration:
Quote from Top of the Dream World Shop PageYou can send cute Pokémon Plushies to your friends on PokéHeroes. They will surely enjoy this kind-hearted gift!
They're meant to be nice gestures, especially when done randomly. When Christmas/Sky/Valentine's Gifts roll around, no one gets upset when they get one. They're all unnecessary to the game's purpose or goal, yet serve as nice gestures that you can live without.

I'm more for Greggory_Lee's point where you could be taken out of the algorithm for receiving random plushies considering when a new Event Distribution comes out, a lot of users, including myself, mass-send out Magikarp plushies with the 'Random User' option. This would help people who are receiving random plushies they don't like knowing that they're not being sent those plushies intentionally for some odd reason [something I like to call arrogance].

I honestly see it as users overreacting and feeling self-entitled; if you can't accept a gift, let alone a random one, I feel like you shouldn't be getting any in the first place. Just take the damn thing.

the thing is, @imagine and co, sometimes people send them as a troll or as a subtle form of harassment, not every plushie sent is sent as a "kind-hearted gift". While I agree one shouldn't be mad at RANDOMLY receiving a hated "gift", the sender didn't choose to send it to YOU, there should be a way to prevent this type of harassment. Just because one person isn't bothered by being spamed their least-favorite pokemon doesn't mean everyone isn't.

Honestly, I think this idea makes sense. The favorites say "hey send me this!" a blocker says "I hate this, don't send it" WITHOUT the risk of people trolling you by sending it on purpose to tick you off or get a reaction. I think any idea that cuts down on trolling, drama, and harassment should be implemented. This idea could have prevented the entire thing last night.

It wasn't just the fact that they were receiving their least-favorite plushie that made them upset, it was the fact that people were intentionally SPAMMING it to them with hateful comments. It wasn't just about the plushie, it was the intent behind them.

Sure, jerks will find a way to be jerks, but this suggestion will cut out one of those ways entirely.

I understand what you're saying, Taragonra, but it still leads back to what I said about it literally just being pixels. Getting a plushie you don't like won't cause you to develop cancer or something and it's really not that big of a deal.

If they're doing it intentionally with hateful comments, it then could be considered harassment so report them and move on with your life. Once again, really not that big of a deal.

Yes they are "just pixels" but there are people who not only hate but DETEST certain Pokemon to the point they put in their profiles that they will BLOCK you for sending said Pokemon plushie/pixels.

If you send a random plushie and someone does not want said plushie the sender will get blocked inadvertently for something they did not know would cause said blocking action.

To prevent such drama in the future this simple implementation, similar to favoriting a plush, will hopefully be beneficial to many.

tbh I'm with imagine here
Plushies are a pretty useless part of the game, and are pretty much just here as decorations. If anything, I think a plushie notification blocker would be a better idea. That way, you can hide your plushie collection and if someone sends you a plushie you don't like, you don't have to see it. True, you won't get to see plushies you like from users you like, but I don't think that a plushie blocker would be a good idea since plushies are literally just decorations.
No support
And as for random plushies, maybe an automatic feature that posts "Random" on the plushies message automatically? Some users already do this, and it would make it so you know when a plushie is random.

I also agree with imagine and Fernsong in a sense. But maybe instead this could be used for ones you don't have much of, like for example hoarding a doll that just got created for the shop? I just tweaked the idea a little.

Wanted to post to actually put in my 2 cents, since some people think I'm in support of this when I'm not in much in favor of it personally. I know it's because of my earlier post, although that was just me sketching the idea for the initial suggestion, and how it could work to better give people an idea. I just don't like to play 1 side and would rather be fair to both if I can, so yeah there's that.

Anyway, I'm definitely liking what @imagine had to say with their post. However, I want to point out some things, and make some comments, since I also like @Fernsong's post.

Quote from FernsongPlushies are a pretty useless part of the game, and are pretty much just here as decorations. If anything, I think a plushie notification blocker would be a better idea.

Not only do I completely agree with what you're saying, but even better yet we already have such a thing which can be found over in Misc. Settings.

Tick that off, hit save, and then...

Quotehide your plushie collection and if someone sends you a plushie you don't like, you don't have to see it

...we have a simple yet effective solution to the problem! :D

On a real note though:

Quote from FernsongAnd as for random plushies, maybe an automatic feature that posts "Random" on the plushies message automatically?

I really like this concept of an idea a lot, and it made me think for a good while, actually. Especially if older plushies you've received would be shown as randomly received, or not as well. This would let these people that get triggered and block other people straight from the git go without any warning for plushies they don't like clearly know if the plushie sending was intentional, or not. It would work and be similar to how the Shiny Panel had got updated, and when if you had a chain it would display the number of shinies/megables you've achieved thus far.

Here's what I have come up for what I have in mind exactly. I think it's much cleaner than having "random" put automatically in messages.

Simple and straight forward.

Nobody would have to assume they would be getting targeted anymore. This would also help those to reflect back on their past actions where they have blocked someone, and maybe actually come forward and apologize for something they've wrongly accused those for. I definitely feel that only good would come out of this, and it would be beneficial for the health of the community.
