Title: 08/Mar/2021

Updated Gem Collector Data!

• Gem inputs now freely accept commas. This means you can enter a value such as "2,000" and it will (be seen as the same as 2000) work and won't return NaN. This should help those who want to copy and paste values instead of having to type them out or remove commas afterwards. This is also for some future support for another feature that's planned. The gem cost multiplier input works the same exact way as this now too. You can still use values that are comma-less if you so desire.

• Added a missing Pokémon that had been reported, this Pokémon would be Impidimp.

Edit: Fixing a bug with saving, but this will be fixed shortly.

Edit2: Should be fixed and all working properly now.

Most of the data and information that you enter in is now saved. This includes the following: your gem amounts, applied discount, gem cost multiplier, and if you have checked the Unown Egg Chip or not. It's all properly saved and everything gets respectively calculated when you revisit the page.

Just wanted to mention and give more insight with how friending/unfriending works in relation to performance. It lags, but you only will notice it on your browser's end. If you've ever mass unfriended a bunch of people by opening the unfriend links in new tabs then you may notice some tabs not loading or receiving gateway errors. This is normal. You can open a bunch of tabs and instantly close them and these requests will still process just fine. However, you'll still have to wait and can't do much else while this is going on anyway.

The request to friend/unfriend would be instant, but you lag because you (the browser) wait for a response back for any of these requests (from the server's end). This is only very taxing on the browser's end if you're mass adding/unadding others as the time waiting for these responses only adds up. Not much that can be done about that unless Riako ever reworks friendslists and wants to use a different system and or methods than how it's all currently handled. It could potentially be made a lot quicker and faster.

But no, this doesn't lag PH. It's very negligible (like most other things) with how it affects the performance for other users that are using the site while these types of requests are going on.

I already knew and had a good feeling that the community was going to be split on a suggestion like this, but it's rightfully so as to why. My Hangman Helper is indeed a wonderful tool I have reworked and coded more and many people love using it. However, me also being the person who had took the original Helper and updated it, brought it to be much easier to use, and have lots of new features. I do think that I should join in the discussion or at the very least give my thoughts on the matter.

First, I would like to get out of the way that I would be in full compliance to take down the Hangman Helper, at least the version 2 one I had made. That's if changes like this would come to Hangman and I would be asked to cease operation of my Helper. While this wouldn't get rid of the Hangman Helper completely, the version 2 wouldn't exist which most people do use and it contains just about all the words. The older version is missing hundreds of words and wouldn't be as consistent to be using.

Anyway, personally I'm split on this as much as I don't even really bother much with doing Hangman myself. I only have 226 Hangmen solved in my entire PH lifetime. Regardless of whatever happens it truly doesn't affect me. None of what I would be saying would hold any bias. This is something I feel that's important to note.

Furthermore, I do feel as if Hangman had stuff like this in the first place then helpers would have never really existed or would of seen any surface. Now that there are helpers exist, they are just this gray area because you can say that it's overpowered through the use of them, but then again you could say that they have more of an educational use and purpose.

I think if you want a fair and realistic solution then this is what I would personally propose. Add in a copy button and or detect if a user if copying content off of the page. Reduce the reward given if this holds true. Most people using the Hangman Helper are copy and pasting in words because it's most convenient to be doing it that way. A smaller percentage would actually be spending the time to type out anything and even if you do type most people are likely to make mistakes by doing so. This would be easy to implement and I don't think anyone would mind it as it would better help create fair play, which I don't think majority is really against. It would make it fair for the people utilizing the Hangman Helper versus those who do not decide to use it. You could add in a solution like that and even make changes to Hangman based off of a suggestion like this, and nobody would really complain. I would foresee most people being content with a solution like this or similar if anything would be changing.

These listings have been sitting up in the Item Market ever since the Item Market came out, but I see no issue with them. While yes, it can be annoying to see listings like these up in the Item Market, but if we were going to start regulating listings that are unreasonable like this and handing out punishment for them then it wouldn't be a good thing. People already complain a lot about "overpriced" Nuggets for example in the Item Market. Meanwhile, there's nothing really wrong with the prices or how the market is for such an item. People like to believe items should stay at certain prices (i.e Nuggets for 1.5k each) since they've stayed that way for many many years when the Item Market never even existed. Now that the Item Market exists there's actually more of an economy that there has been unlike before, now you finally see items change in value and see more of a simulation of an actual economy.

So that's my point, Item Market listings shouldn't be getting touched nor being looked into unless there's something actually shady going on, such as people exploiting items or just the system in an illegitimate way. People being able to freely use the Item Market should be fully permitted. People listing up items for whatever they think they may be worth, should be as well.

I managed to get a video of the issue:

Also, it happens with the Online clicklist too sometimes too, yeah. Sometimes it will say that there are Pokémon to be interacted in the Online clicklist but when you go to it then it will be empty.

I'm getting this issue on the Newest Adoptions clicklist for a few days now quite randomly and commonly too. It's as if it stops at a broken Pokemon or something and won't continue any further. I recall this happening sometimes in the past too, it seems to be a rarer occurence normally but it's without a doubt an existing bug. I don't seem to get this really with other clicklist besides the Newest Adoptions one.

Also, I'm of course on Chrome.

Quote from ~Wish~On the Safari Zone page it says:

The best way to catch a Pokémon is to slow it down first by throwing one or more Puffins in its way (double-click) - a message will appear at the top to tell you if it's slowed down or if you threw the Poffin too far left/right/high/low.

It should say Poffins instead of Puffins. ^^

This has been corrected, thank you! ❤️

If you're talking about using something such as Stylish, sure, I could use something like that to easily move my Username down for myself only.

That doesn't really solve the issue for others that have the problem across the site and have no idea how to use an extension such as Stylish or know how to even code. It's not user-friendly. For some this is actually going to trigger their OCD just like myself included. All over something that effectively didn't need to be changed as nothing should be changed for people who aren't actually being affected by such a feature.

Quote from Gosthtbh i dont see any problem, but why not making it customisable?

Just because you don't see it as a problem doesn't mean others don't.

Also, what do you mean by "customisable"?

I didn't think such a small cosmetical change would be worth an entire suggestion, so I'm going to put it here as a complaint.

Basically, before reset with the new update that shows your previous Username, Usernames used to be positioned differently under normal circumstances.

What I don't like is how Usernames are shifted up like that and there's extra space between your Username and Trainerlevel. It would be nice if it could still look like how it is on the left. This is if you do not have a current previous Username that would be displaying there. I'm also aware that this could have been an oversight by Riako with the implementation of this new feature.

While I do support this idea and think something based around the idea would be fine to implement and work. I still do think that Dex rewards should also be able to be traded to others who have already obtained a specific Dex reward.

I have a suggestion about this here. It would be a huge help to people who would like to shiny hunt Dex reward Pokémon for others and at least have it be some sort of profitable thing.

I mean, I do think you could implement and add both ideas and even then it wouldn't be too much. At some point there are just going to be too many Dex reward Pokémon for anyone to know what to do with and it takes a lot of time/effort to hunt these.

Quote from GosthI think you are missunderstanding TremorzGG's suggestion, what he wants is that pokemon from auction hiuse or gts dont evolve, not an item that act like everstone

No misunderstanding on my part if you're talking to me. He was putting across an example of why he would be suggesting what he would be suggesting. The suggestion here is the following: "Stop Pokemon Evolving From Level UP".

Here in this thread we are discussing the topic of that main suggestion.

Also, based off the context of context of his post it doesn't sound like he's looking for Pokémon not to evolve in GTS/Auction House that other users have put up.

My idea that I proposed would cover and help prevent unevolved Pokémon from GTS/Auction House from evolving given you get them before they evolve and they end up landing in your Party if you have space for them there. In this case/scenario it's at least better to have a safety measure like this due to an item instead of no safety measures at all and potentially being able to save some Pokémon from evolving that you wouldn't want to (since you wouldn't be quick with the Everstones obviously).

Overall, I think the idea I had suggested for this idea here is going to be the most considerable thing if anything as it's balanced and doesn't mess with the game's design and change it up much whatsoever. It's enough to mostly help people who LAB hunt or hunt specific things, don't have enough time to be so attentive to their eggs, and maybe get specific evos they want somewhat a bit easier. Nothing too much and will give people an extra hand if they desire wanting such a thing because they feel this is a problem for them.

Quote from SurfsideJamYou don't have to pay to evolve in the actual games why should we start now??

Pay to evolve? I think you misunderstood what I've explained.

The item that I'm proposing would enable the option to prevent the automatic evolution through leveling up of your Party Pokémon. This is even if you do not give them an Everstone to hold. You would also be able to turn this feature on and off if you do so happen to posses said item.

The item isn't changing anything for you now if you wouldn't be able to have/afford it. It would merely be a convenience item for people if they are looking for help avoiding the issue of their Pokémon automatically evolving through level up. This is because their eggs hatch and EXP on the hatched Pokemon are gained too quickly or they are AFK or not around to attend to them before they evolve (to give them Everstones). It's premium/convenience I believe people should pay a price for if they want such help. That's if they feel this is a problem to them.

Quote from KrazyKarpLike, having an item bought with nuggets that lasts for a finite number of days to prevent automatic evolution, is that really worth the nuggets? I don't think so.

That's why I also pitched option B which would effectively make it a free feature if you're already paying for Premium and spending Nuggets anyway. You could also say that this item should be a cheaper item compared to other the Premium-like items that benefit the user in some way (flutes and cuffs). This would make sense since this would be more of a convenience item compared to items that give you more of a beneficial boost to hatching eggs or shiny hunting.

Also, I don't think just flat out removing Everstones is really the right solution/idea, and I feel Riako would be opposed to such a thing. It would also make collecting and completing the Dex seamlessly easier and be unfair to people who have put in the time/effort to complete their Dexes already.

I'm going to go ahead and say that I support the idea of this suggestion and want to give my own input on what I think could be good for the site.

The idea could most definitely work I feel, given there's a good implementation. Of course, we wouldn't want to have something that makes Everstones useless/obsolete, which is something to keep in mind when considering an idea that could work and be considerable.

My own idea I'd like to propose is this. Add a premium-like Key Item that either:

A.) Costs x Nuggets in the Item Shop and lasts for y days.
B.) Make it a free Premium upgrade that Premium users could use as long as they remain Premium, otherwise have it be made available for Nuggets from the Item Shop for all users (option A).

I feel both of these could work. For option B, I'm only pitching it because we haven't had any sort of free added benefits to Premium in a long time (as far as I recall). Normally, the amount of Premium member numbers are also relatively low. Right now we currently have 1083 Premium users (a big increase since the free week of Premium from Advent). Normally the Premium numbers are about roughly 1/5th of that. Something to think about.

Anyway, what I would like to propose for an item is this:

It would be called the Foreverstone. Its description in rich text would read this:

"A unique stone with a gold sheen. Holding this stone is said to unveil the true power of friendship and prevents all Party Pokémon from evolving."

You would be able to "hold" (activate) or "let go" (deactivate) the stone from say the Party Page. This way its effect would be able to be turned on/off. Whether this could affect only your Party or Account could be up for discussion. Honestly, even if it would just affect your Party it could be good enough. I think where most people have issues with are Pokémon in their party after they hatch out of eggs anyway. Pokémon in Storage Boxes I know for a fact level a lot slower and I can say that being someone who has been interacting a whole lot on site over the years. I wouldn't think that Pokémon in Storage would necessarily need the effect and with that could also still make Everstones be valuable to always have/use, of course.
