Hello! I would like to suggest a way to obtain Retro Tentacool eggs via trading with Leah.

First off, Retro Tentacool can currently be caught at Emera Beach via fishing. While this will fill its Pokedex entry, there’s no way to obtain its EggDex. There are some users who like to get the EggDex entry of every Pokemon, but the lack of getting a Retro Tentacool egg prevents this from being accomplished.

So, I present a possible solution.

Leah could trade you a Retro Tentacool egg for regular Tentacools at Emera Beach. The amount could be high, like 50 or 100 Tentacool for 1 Retro Tentacool egg to encourage users to fish more. The trade itself, like the Mega Stone trade, could appear on random days, so this way the trade isn’t available 24/7. The trade could also be unlocked for users that have a certain Fishing Rod or higher, like when they get the Super Rod, the trade is available.

There could be a possible change to accompany this trade, like making Retro Tentacool appear less while fishing, or remove the possibility of catching it altogether to balance the change. This way, it can still somewhat hold its current rarity, while still being obtainable via an egg.

And the egg itself could, like all other retro eggs, have a chance to hatch Shiny. OR, like Hoopa, the Lake Trio, Sword Trio, and MissingNo, every 50th egg could be a guaranteed Shiny.

This will motivate users to use the king's rod more. In my case, I would rather shiny hunt for a fishleon rather than gamble my chance on the beach.
And honestly, i can finally have a better chance of catching that shiny retro tentacool. Haha.

I'm gonna say no support on this. The Retro Tentacools are not a time-limited thing so making them more common, especially the shinies which as they stand right now are worth a lot, will devalue them significantly.

I would love to see the ability to fill the egg dex for the Retro Tentacool and the idea of a possible trade with Leah would be a good way to do it.

The idea to also have the shiny possibility limited or guaranteed every 50th like a few other Pokemon is great

@SoulStar I think you have a point there. I have been thinking about it, maybe we could throw some Tentacruel and Pearls/Big Pearls in the mix, like 10 Tentacruel and 5 Pearls/1 Big Pearl? (Feel free to add on)

@milla making the retro obtainable this way, with an increased price of course, wouldn't affect the rarity all that much, especially if you remove it from the fishing itself

The trade involving a bunch of regular Tentacool, Tentacruel and at least 1 Retrocol sounds good to me. They're quite literally worthless otherwise as a vast majority of the fish pokemon aren't used in any of Leah's trades, meaning they just fester in the fishbox serving no real purpose outside of being 70 AP for a daily adopt in event distributions at best.
