Large buildings with many rectangular windows casting a yellow light onto the city as far as the eye can see. Bustling shops on the ground, eager to catch your attention and potential money. Couples walking in the street, either idly chatting away or directing their eyes entirely to the dirt they thread on.
Everybody here is a villain. Everybody here has committed a crime.

...Oh well.

Introduction

Hello, one and all, to Prison Borough! This is a very cooperative roleplay built on two things: your own creativity & mutual teamwork.
Prison Borough is much like any other big city, but with the twist that it's sheltered from any other world. It's a separate universe where people who have committed terrible crimes go and repent their sins. Or well. It doesn't have to be that dark, but you get the idea, right?
The cooperativeness comes into play when we add the simple rule of the borough: Every prisoner must have an assigned spouse. This is partly to introduce morale, but also to get a little more... order in the world.
If you get along well with your spouse and find some goodness and guilt in your heart, you are free to go back to your own world.

Rules
1. Remember the original PH rules :P You can be a little grim, but don't go totally overboard.
2. Your character can be from whatever universe you wish. A world plagued with werewolves, mermaids, slime folk, but try to keep it at least... mostly humanoid!
- Adding to this, it's fine to draw ideas from an existing media or fandom, but try to keep it semi-original :D
here's a ton of mythical creatures if you need ideas!
3. All spouses will be assigned randomly after we have at least 8 characters. If you have a strong preference in who you would like to be paired up with, (ex.: you have 2 characters) you can PM me and I'll figure something out :)
4. Password is your favorite color. Please include this in 'Other'.
5. Your character(s) is supposed to have committed a crime that they hold very close to heart. You can reveal this secret crime at any time during the roleplay, either making your character wear it free on their chest, or revealing it to your spouse when they build a strong relationship, and so on and so forth.

Name: Geira Elliðadóttir
Age: 22
Appearance: Geira is a rather tall being, standing at 192 cm. (6'3 ft.) She has medium-sized, fluffy grayish hair that looks like it hasn't been brushed in years. She wears a long, fluffy brown coat with no other distinct features than a red ribbon resting just above her chest. She sports two wolf ears on the top of her head, replacing normal human ears. Though hard to see, Geira also exhibits a long, bushy tail that usually lays straight by her legs.
Personality: Geira is a very monotone girl, often giving no other emotion than a simple 'hm' as a thank you. She doesn't try to be rude, promise, she's just... not very used to being around so many people. She's very polite, over-apologetic (though many don't realize), and incredibly easy to fluster.
Background: Geira grew up in a strictly wolf world, where the only real threat was the raging weather and the conflicts between each of the wolf families. She was taught as a young wolf pup to be able to defend herself in the worst situations and to never front her emotions, as anyone could use it against her.

Personality:
Myrcine is a very quiet person,speaking mostly when spoken to and usually replying as shortly as possible. At least that's how she behaves now that he's a prisoner. She is often seen acting differently around her spouse.

Background
Marginalized and relegated,Myrcine was forced to steal and deceive just to get by. Was it her race? Even she doesn't know,nor will she ever reach the truth for she was falsely accused of murder and was simply thrown in prison,having nothing and no one to defend her or look for her. Upon second thought,prison is much better alternative to the cold street and benches. At least now she can sleep without worrying over waking up with a bullet to her head or a knife in her stomach.

Appearance: Xeraphina is an average height female with short black hair which falls around her shoulders and a fringe which covers her eyes. She has green horns (ones that go from her forehead and upwards with a slight curve) and dresses very formally, bearing a red collared shirt (no tie), a white blazer, white trousers and black shiny shoes. She has almond coloured skin and a soft yet angular face, with many scars over her eyes, which are white without details. She also has slightly clawed hands and a long and thin black tail. [X]
Personality: Xera is, in short, quiet. She’s not someone you could pin as evil or malicious, however when she gets talkative, she’s bitter, snappy and quick witted. Behind this, she’s a pretty emotionally weak person, crumbling under pressure and whispering things under her breath. She often is seen shaking.
Background: Xera doesn’t let a lot slip about her past, but it’s clear that whatever she did, she didn’t have any choice. She regrets it and gets stressed and panicked whenever it’s brought up.

I'd say kobold and dragonborns are just above the line. :P any more non-human appearances than that isn't accepted, but with lizard-like creatures like these, yeah. I'd say they're humanoid enough

Perhaps the most stand out trait that one would pick out is Izumi's youthful appearance. His pale skin and striking silver hair that softly curls around his neck are sure to enthrall anyone who so much as looks his way. Blue markings run under his eyes, a status symbol of his home village, but in the city it just makes him look like a tattooed delinquent. But look closer at the seemingly human beauty and one will find that what appeared to be fairly normal eyes turn out to be slitted and reptilian in nature, the intelligent blues tracking any movement deemed suspicious or threatening. Or perhaps one would notice the pointed yet fairly pierced ears first or the smattering of azure reptilian scales scattered over his pale skin. His clothing choice leans towards the ones that allow him the most movement, favoring oversized and billowing clothes to tighter and more restrictive ones

Personality: Sharp tongued and witty, Izumi has a rude attitude towards most people he meets, being overly harsh in his criticisms and quick to point out their flaws. He is a very hard-working person, believing he can achieve his goals with effort alone, and never relying on things such as raw talent or religious faith. Despite this, he is quick to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it, although begrudgingly. He is stoic yet high-strung, fussing over people who give him the chance to do so. It almost physically pains him to see others fail so he has developed the nickname of "mother-in-law" because of his mother like nagging

Background: Izumi grew up in the forest, away from most modern civilization. He swears that the rules of his home village pardoned the grievous sin he committed and is generally very very displeased to be stuck in the city.

[ appearance ] The first thing people notice about Tierney is that she is remarkably pale; her skin lacks any sort of pigment, and it's somewhat eerie to look at. Her eyes, in particular, are blood-red, covered with a mask of childlike innocence. The reason for this strange appearance is simple; Tierney is an albino, a condition that coincidentally comes from her mom's side. Otherwise, despite the hardships she has endured as a child and as a growing adolescent who was trained as a hired gun, her first appearances is actually not one of hardships and suffering, but rather of privilege and abstinence. Like a golden girl who was molded and shaped into a fine upper-class lady. There is nothing imposing about her. She smiles humbly, a delicate twist of the mouth and bow of the head. Tierney is a tall girl for her age, coming in at a strong 5'8. She's reasonably slender, perhaps a little hardened around her sides, but that is about it. Her face is angular and sharp, but rounded around the edges. Pert ears sit on a regally sculpted head and gentle features, and a long glossy wave of pure white hair cascades down her shoulders. Surprisingly, Tierney tends to wear very pale clothing, whites and silvers and icy blues. She likes to wear winter jackets with the fur rims around the edge of the hood.

[ personality ] On the surface, Tierney is what she is; a girl who grew up too fast. She's still a child at heart, though in the body of a lady. Manners are what make a lady, and that is something that she has strived to become. It helps to distract people from her darker aspects, and as a result, she's become a little bit of a crowd pleaser. She is a girl known for keeping her speech calm and polite, her words carefully chosen. Even when she gets angry, she doesn't explode like most people would. In addition, she has a pleasant demeanor, treating others with kindness and respect. She seems to be very outgoing and animated as well, possessing a quick wit and somewhat blunt sense of humor.

There are two ways people deal with Tierney Kyle when they've known her for a while. Some people only see the young girl that she portrays herself to be, and they leave it at that. However, Tierney is secretive and an escapist. She does not like to talk about her past, and how she grew up - and tends to dodge the question or direct conversation away from it if people start to pry. Her inner self is crumbling, weighed down with anxieties and survivors guilt that is eating herself up. Tierney has trouble forming bonds, and can be considered to be rather selfish and distrustful, since she has learned that the only person really willing to look out for you is yourself. Whether or not what happened to herself is her fault, she does beat herself up for it. It doesn't take much to make the tense girl jump, but she has already made the conscious choice not to choose violence unless her life is at stake. Having already seen quite a bit of the less savory side of town, she doesn't sugarcoat her words, and can come off as a bit rough around the edges. So sweet as she is, she is not someone you want knocking on your door when you realize you've screwed up bad. With anyone.

[ history ] Tierney was born in complicated circumstances that even now she isn't sure she got fully puzzled out. Born and raised in the less glamorous side of town, above poverty yet not possessing the most ideal of living conditions, she and her mother did what they could to make ends meet. In general, Tierney was advised to do two things; keep your mouth shut and keep your head down. Tierney didn't know what her mother did to make the money come through, and she never asked. There were rumors that her family was involved with organized crime, and she picked up on them almost immediately. When her mother ran out of money, Tierney stopped going to school as she used to. Her world crumbled when she was fourteen, when her mother fell behind on one payments too many. Instead of allowing the gang she borrowed money from to take her mother's life, young Tierney volunteered to take her place in the gang.

Tierney has built up a reputation for being a rather infamous face in hired crime to this day, although this came with the price of doing some pretty contemptible things. Tierney put her predator instincts to use and settled for hunting people down and allowing the others to make the kill. Almost no one slipped past her. It gave her the reputation of a woman that you did not want on your tail if you had messed up your reputation with the underworld, because she would catch you and you would pay. However, after being asked to hunt down an innocent family (she did her research), Tierney woke up to what she had become, and was overwhelmed by guilt. She let the family off the hook, told them how to get out of town, and turned herself into the police. Her boss, seeing that he risked spoiling insider information and possibly other important information, abandoned Tierney to die. While she could have been left to rot and possibly face numerous sentences for all the crap she pulled, she was let out after a few months. Turns out someone - a private, low end detective who wanted someone who knew how to get information - was interested in her skill set, and was interested in bailing her out in exchange for an offer to repent for her crimes.

Tierney hasn't been on speaking terms with her family for a while, and despite the fact that she took her mother's place, she hasn't texted once in years. She tends to just go by Jackie instead of her first name. Her selfish, cold, and distrustful attitude hasn't changed since she was bailed out, and in fact it has only grown stronger. Nevertheless, the next year, she found herself taking pity on a young doberman puppy that had been abandoned on the streets. Though taking care of a dog isn't the first thing that comes to mind when you look at her, but it's true that the doberman has provided her with a true friend, something she hasn't ever had in a while. Dobermans are dogs that aren't always welcomed in the public eye, but it takes one to know one. She tends to bring him everywhere she goes and treats him like a little brother.

[ other ] Tierney's closest companion is her doberman, Stance. He's strong and lean, with a rich ebony and copper coat, and matching bourbon eyes. Despite looking quite fierce, he's considered to actually be a rather loving and quiet companion, something Tierney really needs in her life. She rescued Stance as a stray puppy and raised him with love and consideration. He is only aggressive to people that he believes will harm his master. Since he is intelligent enough to separate good from bad, he can start growling and barking almost immediately if he senses someone with ill intent toward Tierney. Unfortunately, since Tierney tends to bring him anywhere, he isn't always looked at with the warmth and love of his owner. Sometimes, she leaves him at a local dog spa/daycare when she has to go somewhere that strictly forbids the breed, but for the most part, she tends to let her dog come with. The boy loves an adventure!

[ age ] May is actually immortal, but her appearance makes her lean closer to 19 years.

[ human/gumiho ] May's looks are deceiving. While she may look human on the outside, she is in fact a kumiho - a nine-tailed fox spirit that feeds on the energy and flesh of man in order to survive. She is a predator hidden under a pretty face.

Though May could take on other forms, her vanity and cunning leads her to take on a fairly attractive young woman that can be estimated to be around nineteen years of age. Long raven hair, flowing down in a raven cascade that ends at the middle of her back, attractively frames her heart-shaped face with fair skin and polished features. May has bright periwinkle-hued eyes that occasionally seem to be violet or dark blue in various lightings. Going down, her body is slim and curvaceous, her feminine charms no doubt pleasing to the eye. The vixen's unnatural beauty is something she takes pride in, and she flaunts it like a queen flaunts her royal status. May enjoys wearing loose dresses and summertime attire that billow around her form, leaving much to the imagination while adding onto her breezy appearance. Her fox marble is contained in a pendant that hangs just below the collar of her dress, hiding it from view.

In her fox form, May's true identity that is jealously guarded by the kumiho, she is just as ravishing as in her human form, lush and sleek. May has long, slender legs, and silky russet fur that hugs her form like a glove. Her warm periwinkle orbs become as pale and as cold as ice. Lean muscle ripples beneath her thick, beautiful coat, honed from years of running and hunting. Sharp ears perk up from either side of her sharp vulpine muzzle, perked up to the sky.

[ personality ] The first trait that people would attribute to May is clever. Intelligent. Cunning, like a fox. Her insights are sharp and precise and her movements deliberate, like she planned out where and what she would be doing at each exact moment. She is more than capable of taking care of herself, or so she claims, and has developed the habit of evaluating the situation before leaping headlong into anything. Her ears prick at the slightest of hints, and she definitely picks up more than her fair share of gossip and secrets. In conversation, she usually evaluates the words of others before speaking herself, her words carefully chosen. May is fully aware that a good choice of honeyed words, along with her natural feminine beauty, is a lethal combination, and she wastes no time practicing it every day on the unsuspecting. She has skills that get some people to look away, while convincing others to get closer to her fangs. A few people are aware of her wily ways, thus dubbing her with the nickname Vixen, but for the most part, May's reputation is pretty normal.

Appearance: Here, may take a moment to load.
Personality: Osiris, being a hyena as he is, is fairly excitable and easily laughs. However, he also "laughs" when he's enraged or in pain, leading to some confusion in most others about his emotions. He's easily offended, too; mention something about his appearance or choice of tool, or even that his mane is a bit out of order, and he'll quickly prefer to attack.
Background: Osiris had a mysterious upbringing, without any real parents to think of, only mysterious caretakers that sometimes left him food and clean water. However, this lack of care lead to a few bad habits: Osiris started to crave destroying things, hence his liking to sledgehammers. Being such a creature as he was, a beastman, most thought this new "career" fitted him. That is, until he started to play with fire. There, he went from a demolition team member to a criminal, in just seven buildings.

Name: Darian Forgroth

Age: 20

Appearance: Darian is quite an average guy, aside from the prosthetics that replaced his arms some time ago, which he covers with gloves and a jacket. He is 5'7 and fairly lean, that fitted with somewhat tight jeans, a plain white shirt, and a biker jacket, he looks pretty normal for the place he is imprisoned. He has neatly trimmed, wavy hazel colored hair along with dull sea-green eyes that still have a faint glow of madness.

Personality: If I tried giving a description of it, i would most likely be lying. He lives with a mask on, seemingly changing every few seconds. He is hard to read due to the abnormal fluctuations in his behavior, also making it hard to build a relationship with him. These days, though, he tends to stick with a more kind and caring demeanor, and even sometimes believing in his own disguise.

Background: He comes from an unstable background, which is a big factor in his behavior. In order to stay alive inhis own family, he had to shift his mindset to match whoever was most important at the time. Other than that, he never reveals much about himself. Even if he did, the story would change every time you asked him.

Other: Probably not the best rp to sign up for when you lack so much experience lol, but i'll try
