Wolves howling in the distance
beneath the moonlit sky. The forest filled with an eerie silence,
as not the smallest insect dared to make a sound. Beneath your
hands, a thick white fog steals your sight.
You've long lost your way. Not knowing how to return, panic crawled up your spine, holding you in it's grasp as your damp clothes take your bodies warmth. Leaving you a shivering mess.
Then, you saw it.
In front of you, on a steep rock, just slightly above your head it laid, starring straight into your eyes. It's glowing, golden-yellow eyes looking into your soul. It knew who you are. And why you are here. But it won't allow you to take what it holds the most dear, not for as long as it is able to fight and protect.
What it didn't knew, you came not to steal, but to help protect, if ... you are able to convince it.

I've been reading the stories as I enter you, and wow! Every one of you has amazing skills. Especially the ones with scary stories, as you were able to create an atmosphere of dread. Y'all should consider submitting things into contests or making your own books! <3
Well, time to jump into the cold water then!
Here's something I wrote a long time ago.
Who knows, maybe one day I'll actually sit down and complete some of my stories? (I have a whole bunch that are pretty much done except that I haven't actually written them down yet.)
Feedback/Questions are welcome
(It's more of a summary)
I've also removed the actual flashback of what exactly happened that night because I don't want to break any rules and it would get a bit 'extrem' otherwise. Let me know if I should remove/rewrite anything else or if sharing this much is acceptable. Thanks!
Warning: Contains the mentioning of violence, memory loss, and not willing to give up on love and happiness

*"Promise me to always stay by my
side." Up to this very day his words still echo inside her mind,
alongside countless questions. Did he knew they would come? Did he
knew she wouldn't see him again...?
More than a year has went by since this terrible night where the humans broke into their home, willing to kill them no matter the cost. He sacrificed himself so that she could flee. Not once had she heard him scream. He didn't, so that she wouldn't dare to look back and try to save him...
A sigh left her lips. 'He won't come today either, will he?' she asked herself. Day after day it was the same. She would wait at the little lake, hidden deep inside a large forest. Their special place. A peaceful place where no humans are around, where they met for the first time and where their love began to bloom. Their love... Once more she remembered that one night that changed everything, that took her lover away, but gave her in return something precious. Her son. It was just a few hours before that she had realized she was blessed with a child, his child. Overjoyed should have been the most beautiful night of their lives! ...Not this.
Her son would never be able to meet his father, never play with him... 'Stop it! You can't think like that.' she wasn't such a woman who would give up hope so easily. She knew better! He wasn't dead, he couldn't be. The bond they shares still existed, only death could cut it.
Biting her teeth a new fire lit inside her. If he wasn't able to show up until now then she wouldn't wait a single day longer! This time it was her turn to search for him. No matter how long it would take or what obstacles she had to face, she wouldn't give up until she meet her goal.*
And so her journey began, together with her newborn child. Day after day and night after night went by. Within just a single year the world she once knew had changed so much that she wanted to give up countless times. But every time she remembered why she did this, why it was such an important task... It took her months to find the right clues, but then, finally... Upon entering a small, remote village it was as if lightning had struck her. Her eyes bursting with tears. There he was... working in the fields as if nothing ever happened. Before she could call out to him it was as if someone had hit her in the face. An unfamiliar woman approached him, dared to hug and even kiss him! What... Just what in the world was going on?!
Unable to react without causing a massive chaos she retreated. She had to cool down, fast! But this was so much harder than waiting for months for her lover... How could he forget her and move on? Was he out of his mind?! ...Yes, maybe he was!
While keeping her distance she asked the villagers about him and the answers shocked her. Memory loss? Showed up half beaten to death over a year ago? Fell in love with that other woman and married her... This was worse than everything she could have imagined!!
She was so close, yet so far away from her happiness. From the family she always dreamed about. But she wasn't some little human who would give up here, oh no, she would fight! Even if that meant to make him fall in love with her all over again.

A small coo caught her attention, and
she looked down to find her small pokemon nestled in her arms. She
pulled Rowlet close, ruffling the bird's feathers. "You ready to go
to the festival?" She murmured to the pokemon, giving a small
giggle at the excited chirp she received. "Alright then. Let's go
and meet up with Kukui!" Moon stood up, calling Rowlet into the
pokeball before rushing downstairs. She paused, seeing her mother
still with Meowth on the couch. "Mom." She started, almost
hesitantly. "I'm going to go to the festival, alright?"
Her mother turned around, giving her daughter a big grin. "Alright, be safe out there, alright? I'll meet you there once the festival begins."
Moon nodded before jogging out of the door. She was nervous, but also rather excited. The last time she had ever stepped foot in tall grass was when she accompanied her brother. She could recall it clearly. It was their mom's birthday, and they wanted to get her something nice for the occasion. Her brother had just finished his journey, and had all sorts of strong pokemon. Moon had asked him for help with the gift. Together they had traveled all the way out to Route 5 on the back of his Dragonite, where they spent hours looking for Meowth. He had gotten its HP down, but Moon was the one who got to throw the pokeball.
Moon gave a small smile, recalling the time spent after that just trying to get the feisty pokemon to calm down. Funnily enough, Moon had been the most successful in taming the cat pokemon as she bribed it with berries. Now that she thought of it, that was likely the reason the pokemon was so spoiled.

Welcome, Koiboi!
A day late, but a new Prompt and Challenge have been added!
Thanks Wildfyre! I'll try and see if I'm in the mood to work on it a little, although I can't promise it.
As for this times challenge: are (inner) monologues allowed? Or no speaking in general?
Asking because that one sounds interesting and I'd like to give it a try.^^
Wlidfyre, imagine the length of any page out of a collab fanfic or roleplay with every single one of these people, and then imagine that it was because of your ingenious idea that such a legend could be made....
Hmmm....
