Rare candies aren't hard to obtain either. People just need to stop expecting everything to fall into their lap and invest some time into getting the stuff needed, rather than waste it on complaining; but what do I know? Between the golden slots (=interacting) and the beach, I obtained a little over 100 rare candies during the two weeks the event lasted. That amount would've been more than enough to evolve both, Ponyta and Swablu, in a matter of seconds (you needed 73 rare candies max.) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Golden Slots = Luck
Emera beach = Luck
Therefore Rare Candies = Luck

Soothe Bell = PD
PD = Interacting & Selling
Therefore Soothe Bell = Not Luck

The thing with being popular is not a big deal in my opinion. Usually, if you interact a lot you get lots of interaction backs. I haven't seen anything contrary, I've interacted a ton and in the next day I wake up and I get like two hundred interactions.

The thing with more active people have a better advantage is perfectly fine, thats how its supposed to be.

People often think the PH sprites are bland. Do they shade? Well, yes they do. You'll be surprised how much care is taken for these sprites.

Yes, Rare candies was hard to buy because during this event most users were over pricing them. Usually people sell them for 7k each. I remember seeing someone selling some of them in the GTS, I offered the right amount of PD for it and my offer gotten rejected, so I'm guessing they were looking for a much higher price. Nearly every single trade that had rare candies in it was overpricing the items. It was hard for me to get my hands on them.

Edit: whoops, I forgot that Liirah also mention the other options to get rare candies >.< I was in a hurry to get some so I was mostly looking in the GTS to buy them.

Festival Points = Not Luck
Therefore Rare Candies = Not Luck

With both the scavenger hunt and the bug hatching contest going, there was a good chance to snatch a few candies from Emera Square as well.

And even if there is an element of luck in what the golden slot spits out at you and whatever fish chomps down your bait, just keep interacting and fishing for another try. Time and effort yields rewards.

As for the candies being overpriced, that's just supply and demand. People were most likely offering prices way over the usual asking price during the event even without the sellers overpricing them.

Honestly would like to see someone actually use 1000 festival points for a rare candy or maybe even get all of theirs from it. Even the battle shop is a better deal than 1000 festival points (60BP).

Rich users can deal with the heavy price, and thats the point. There should be no line to seperate the poor users and the rich users. If a poor users hardwork can easily be destroyed by a user who happens to have millions of PD because of shiny hunting or selling art - thats an unfair event. We need more events like the easter egg hunt, and halloween, events where they're unique without giving all the rich users the good stuff. Scavenger egg hunt is a nice event and all, but there should be no reason why people felt discouraged enough to just not even try at all. It's "to get a better time," but many users just tried once and that was it. Only 620 users participated. 130 eggs didn't find a home . It was better than the last scavenger hunt which had major problems with time-zones. Things shouldn't fall in their lap or be handed in a silver platter but when people buy their way through an event thats a problem. All we can hope for is the fall berry garden event and Halloween to wrap up the month of October.

Also, here are the sprites:
Normal:
Show hidden content

9180EHP-->LVL 32-->LVL 42-->Mega Eolve -->

Shiny:
Show hidden content

9180EHP-->LVL 32-->LVL 42-->Meag Evolve-->

Also spriters, this is like the first sprite ever to be 96*96 I think, congrats.

Oh yeah, there's rare candies for sale at the Battle Shop too. I completely forgot that since I don't visit it often. So I'd say at this point we can say there's plenty of ways to get candies. Different ways no less if something doesn't suit a user. So they were anything but unobtainable for people.

When it comes to rich people buying their way through an event, so what? They put time and effort into acquiring their wealth (whether it's from pouring time and PD/gems/whatever into shiny hunting, years of work at practicing drawing, or by other means) and they should be able to use that wealth however they please. They didn't just get rich by snapping their fingers, they earned it.

Not to mention, I don't even think this event was highly geared towards rich users. The only argument towards that is that they could buy a lot of rare candies from other users. But, like said, there was plenty of ways for everyone to gather candies and plenty of time to do it as well.

Yes, it's a shame less people participated than how many event eggs there were. But I think some people probably just had their sights too fixed on the top prizes alone and gave up without even trying because of perceived "unfairness." They failed to see they could get the event egg basically without the competition aspect and defeated themselves.

It is a fact that newbies have ro work a lot until they raise on a game site, we all need to do this. Not all user who have a lot PD or nuggets get this all for free ... maby it would be an option that we can buy rare candies for a good price in the mall during this events, this would be helpful i think. Then it has no use when some user sell candies for a too expencive price. But this is only a idea...
