@all I'm having the troubles with my tablet again I swear this thing never works when I want it to
I'm trying to draw, and I'll hold the pen above the tablet, a little bit of space between the pen and the tablet (about an inch) and it'll create a line as if the pen is against the tablet? and no matter what I do it won't work out- I've restarted the service and my computer, shut down my laptop and turned it back on, unplugged the tablet for a while, and no matter what, the problem continues.
I don't believe this is normal (because normally I obviously have to place the pen against the tablet to get a line)
It's been going on for the entire weekend and continued today, and I'm really confused? usually if this problem happens one of the choices above works.
I understand if you guys can't help- sorry for making this so long, or if I need to get rid of it because it's like, irreveltant or something,

@Toma
Great job! Although the light coming from the lamp seems to be really obvious (unless it's smoke, oops)
also when my tablet works I can try to teach you different ways to draw tears

@Meme
Like Toma said, the lines being so straight makes it look really stiff?
I never change this

@all
Man, I'm sorry for just disappearing but I seriously cannot get over the fact that you guys are so much better at art than me ;-;
Like I'm just so unmotivated because art block (even though that went away because of Inktober kind of and more recently #Septicart) and the fact that I don't think I'm any good? But anyway, don't expect to see all that much art from me.

@toma
Awesome :o My only gripe (and that's just me being nitpicky as always) is that a) the unicorn doesn't have ears and b) the one girl closest to the foreground looks kind of strange because her eyes are out of line.

@meme
L o o s e n u p plz
Otherwise, the eyes look really good!

@FF2
OH MY GOD THE MASK AND FACE ARE INCREDIBLE-
I seriously love it <3

@liliac:

there's no shame in looking up references! i don't do it (shame on me) mostly because of how OFTEN i draw humans, so i mostly have anatomy down pat. except hands and feet. those. i have much issue with.

but yeah, if you're just getting started with humans, references will be your best friend. anyways, like i said, i draw humans a lot, so if you have any questions about specific parts of drawing humans i'm 100% willing to help you out there.

a drawing tip in general, but this helps out the MOST with human faces, use the horizontal flip tool. i know how horrifying it may be for you to flip a piece you're proud of, only to see that it's fugly af, but seriously, flip your drawing. it'll provide a new perspective for you and you'll be able to find more mistakes that way. i say it helps with humans the most because you and i are both humans, and we EASILY pinpoint when something is off about a human face. if something is just slightly too big or small, we get a feeling of uneasiness.

another drawing tip in general: keep at it. like toma said, it's not going to happen overnight. you'll need tons and tons of practice. i've been drawing for 12 years, man. keep drawing humans in different poses. use other people's art styles to see how you want to draw something. if it doesn't look great, just look at your old art and see how far you've come.

good luck!

@Luckylikespie aaaa thank you!! also, i am so sorry you have art block. aRT BLOCK IS THE WORST-

@Lilac REFERENCES, PRACTICE, REFERENCES, PRACTICE, REFERENCES, PRACTICE. Seriously, just find good references (I'm ALWAYS using references. Even if it means I spend 20 minutes posing and having someone photograph me in said pose if I can't find refs online and my friends have actual self-respect and won't do stupid poses.), and keep practicing since good art doesn't happen overnight!! I've been drawing for as long as I can remember (Even many of these were scribbles), and I still struggle with things! (Like hands. Hands are pure evil-) But, that's still a good thing though, since practice and making progress is great!!!
Also, challenge yourself sometime!! Challenging yourself can REALLY pay off! (And it usually does!)
Try and look at your drawing to see whats "off", also, and if you can't pinpoint EXACTLY what the problem is, ask someone! (E.g, that drawing I shared? I KNEW that the hand on the table was "wrong", but I didn't know what made it "wrong", and someone pointed it out! Now, I can figure out how to fix it!)

Sorry if I'm rambly and my advice is generic and garbage.. (I'm bad at advice-)

Title: Drawing webs?

Hello! I don't usually draw online but I'd like to know any recommendations for online PC programs that are free? I have a really old computer so it's sensitive to certain websites.

pfpfpt its a meme
heeeeck the effort tho ;0 (totally worth it)

@pastelroses
im not sure about what you mean about the online programs but if you mean like, when you look up websites for drawing? then maybe you could use chickensmoothie's program :0
(you need to make an account though woops) and also pixlr!!
but if you mean downloadable programs then sai works!! although i use ms paint for most of the time :3

i might love you
and you might not approve of it
but what can i do?
it's not like i can change your mind

@ThtGayGuy
That is... SO GOOD
I friggin adore the color sceme, looks beautiful :'D My only real gripe are the ears and the weird black spots on them? Idk, it just kind of looked like shading so I thought that the middle part was sticking out.

@Shadow
Love it! I usually don't like rough linework like that, but it looks REALLY nice there. But you can kind of see where you erased the letters above it (seriously help why am I so nitpicky) and a few of the dark spots on the teeth go past the top line of the lip. It's not terribly noticeable though

@~Dcasom~, I love your pixel work, I really like looking at them

@woopers, fabulous speedpaint, but I'm going to nitpick at her knee-cap a little bit. If you could raise her shin up just a bit, I think it'd be perfect

@fluttershyfan2, I think you should've added a smaller line to show his side and then colour that in with grey, because his left arm looks like it was stuck onto his body, and isn't part of it, you feel me? Also the hand thing, but other people already mentioned it

@Jinmoth, you've got fingers, but there's no wrist. And I'll admit: wrists are hard to get right, but there's a lot of hand-arm tutorials out there to look at!

@meme, fairly symmetrical, which I think was your intention. I don't know enough about gem-characters to judge this though, sorry-

@toma [1], some of these characters have wrists, gasp! The character holding cotton candy has their left hand reversed (unless you meant for them to connect their pinky with their thumb, then you're good). Would definitely recommend that you study how light works 'cause most street-lights don't just glow or exhude a bright aura around the bulb lol

@Liliac, as toma said, look up a reference. I personally started learning how to draw people and posing by using stick-figures as skeleton gestures.

@ThtGayGuy, the splashes of colour are really cute, 10/10 would think the character belongs on a cartoon show for kids

@-Shadow-The-Zoroark-, would recommend using a ruler to measure out your text-space so you can get your inked writing centered properly. By the second line, you've clearly run out of space and a rough-sketch of how you write your words would've helped streamline it immensley

@toma [2], she's got a very flat nose, and I'm indecisive on whether you meant to do that or did not meant to do it. There should be a few more folds in her skirt, particularly around the belt area (folds appear when there's gravity and something else pulling the material this way and that). Where be the wheels on her rollar skates?! Also: make the cat fatter plz

Art in spoiler, critique at will I just want to show them off in one place

@Zorua, those are cute! Though the purple pixel kitty(?) looks like it's missing pads at the bottom of its paws. Unless they don't have paw-pads, in which case they're still cute. Aaaaand no clue. I'll probably announce when I'm doing custom avatars soonish.

@Akiruru, I really love the water-colour effect you've got going for the art you did for Twin. And the Braxien adoptable is very ghost-like, love it. And yes! Colour palette challenge did its work~
