HAH i've kicked my art block in the behind. it's a new month, babey, go away. i'm currently working on a drawing of Scathach=Skadi from Fate/Grand Order.

@TCDL:
i'm not too great at drawing dragons or anything that isn't humans whoops so i don't have much critique, but i love the detail you put into it!

@hibiki:
i think your images are broken in the first spoiler, but i really like the design! they're super cute.

@Furret:
ayy still life. forever my worst enemy. the sketch looks good so far, though a lot of the items seem a bit crooked? using guidelines helps a lot.

@flowerdragonstary:
those are pretty cute, though i'm gonna echo Furret about what they said about the crayon.

hellooo i have been super dead!! and instead of digital art i have some traditional art for once.

[Tamamo no Mae from FGO]

onto the critiques!

@Fawnstar:
The drawing's super nice! I think everyone else has already touched upon what you should work on though, so I'll refrain.

@Kit:
Ayy, I haven't seen your art in a while either. It's awesome, though kind of sketchy.

@FlowerDragonStary:
Your art is super cute, but I've noticed that you tend to draw heads a bit too small and the limbs (specifically feet) very large. You might want to try and find more of a balance there. Don't be afraid to look up drawing references! This is a tip that applies to everyone, but tagging "anime" or "drawing" to the end of your reference search (i.e. "anime torso" or "torso drawing" ) will bring up drawn references. Drawn references are often more easy to work with than realistic ones.

@Furret:
Nice thumb (Y) . No particular critique or whatnot for this one, it's very well drawing.

@Katakuri:
I really, really like your art style! It's super clean and the lines are bold; in general, very pleasing to look at. However, I think the jaw of the second drawing looks a bit strange, specifically the bottom part of the jaw. It should be showing more of the inside of the mouth rather than outside, if you know what I mean? Kind of more like this. Other than that, they're both fantastic pieces.

@flowerdragonstary
i really like the designs, they're super adorable!

i think furret and eifie covered most of the bases, but do keep in mind that while shading can absolutely help, it's not necessary for a piece to look good. (flat color proves this!) i think at the moment, you should focus more on the anatomy of your characters rather than the shading, but that's just me. since they're gijinkas, you're going to want to use human references. you don't necessarily even have to use realistic human refs; anime works just fine.

@ice_of_the_wolf
it's pretty cute! like i said above, while shading (as eifie said) can absolutely help with separating parts from others, it's not necessary. you might want to try using lines/guidelines for your drawing instead of going lineless! while lineless art can definitely work, i think starting out with lines might help with figuring out where each body part is. a lot of lineless artwork starts out with lines, too!

that's just my two cents though! good work, you two.

rP #21 HERE I C O M E
Name: Arin Hunter
Age: 24
Gender & Sexuality: Male | Pansexual
Appearance: Fairly tall, at 5'10", with a figure that belies stockiness. He has rich brown hair that reaches his shoulders, though it's usually a bit messy or tied up in a low ponytail. His eyes are an icy blue, his skin pale. He's got a bit of scruff too, mostly since he usually forgets to shave. Looks like he needs a break 25/8 (which is true).
Species: He's human.
Personality: Arin's a man of few words, and dislikes talking to people when he doesn't have to. He tends to be secluded and while people know him as a genuinely nice guy who'll probably do something if you asked nicely enough, a lot of people are also intimidated by him, mostly because yes, he HAS shown that he can defend himself exceedingly well. Terrifyingly well.
He rarely ever snaps, being ridiculously patient, though a good way to get him angry really quickly is to do something unfair or cruel; he steps in as soon as something like that happens. He's got a few issues with receiving thank yous, and tends to just brush them off or just acknowledge them awkwardly before moving on. Arin has a habit of bottling up his emotions or suppressing them, figuring they're not as important.
It mostly stems from a guilt complex and from the fact that he'd gotten tired of a life that was built on bloodshed, so now he's just a traveling merchant who tries his best to do some good in the world.
Job: traveling merchant, ex-assassin.
Weapon: he's proficient in most forms of combat, but he prefers relying on hand-to-hand these days, mostly because it's a bit more difficult to kill someone with your hands than a knife. He still carries one around, though; it's the only weapon he hasn't let go of.
History: Arin grew up in a family that was appropriately named the Hunters, a family of assassins who took on any job as long as the price was high enough. Naturally, he was dragged into the family business, and he'd hated it from day one, though he didn't allow himself to complain out of fear that he be cast out of the family. When he was fourteen, he left his family, and to this day, he's not sure if he's grateful or hurt that they never went out to track him down.
Lost and desperate, Arin continued to be an assassin, but he tried to make sure his targets were all bad people and more or less deserved it. When he was 18, he found out that one of his clients had lied to him, and that the person he'd pretty much murdered was innocent, and that's when he wondered if the same thing's happened in the past. He quit after that, and since then, has tried to do his best to atone for what he'd done.
Other: >:3c anywaY

this is a game i made up and played a while ago! here's how you play!

the first person creates a character (just give us their name) and give them a goal. for example: "bob wants to go to the moon."

the next person helps the character achieve that goal--but your post cannot be longer than 1 sentence. for example: "so bob goes to college and learns how to become an astronaut."

the person after then tries to sabotage the character with 1 sentence. for example: "however, bob flunks all his classes."

and then the person after tries to help the character recover from the sabotage and continue with the goal. for example: "however, he retakes his classes and passes!"

and it keeps going until the character either reaches their goal or they've been stumped so badly they can't possibly attain their goal.

simple, yeah?

there are a few rules so the game doesn't get boring!
1: you can't just say the character instantly does something, like "bob teleports to the moon". however, you CAN instantly kill the character, because you can do stuff like "a benevolent god revives bob".
2: if you're trying to help the character, add "HELP" to the top of your post. if you're trying to sabotage the character, add "SABOTAGE" to the top of your post, so the person after you knows which to do.
3: you can do literally anything no matter how absurd it is; that's the point of this game, pretty much--see how crazy it gets.
4: all PH rules apply!
5: have fun!

with that said, here's the start:

Michelle wants to start a toy shop.
