Harlow glances up when she hears footsteps. She smiles when she
sees Chakti enter the room. "Hello again! What's that?" She asks
curiously as she eyes the food
Chakti set the massive plate down on a small table with a smile.
"Just a some of my special pancakes, fresh off the grittle! No
severe allergies to fruit or anything, right?" He looked at Harlow
when he asked, hoping she knew her family the best.
"Nope" Harlow answers as she grabs the plate and takes a bite. Her
eyes brighten. "Whoa, this is actually really good. I wouldn't take
you for being a chief.. no offense" she looks at Leaf and puts the
plate down, quickly deciding to save the rest for her when she
wakes up. "Well thank you Chakti, I really appreciate this"
Chakti nodded with a smile, then started toward the door. "I have a
few more deliveries to make." He gave a little wave and disappeared
out the door, marching back towards the mess hall. Grabbing another
plate, he sighed, then said, " I think Genesis next.. If she's
still asleep, I'll leave it on her table. " He started to hike
towards the infirmary, taking a long route to Genesis' room so as
not to wake up Tempest if she had indeed fallen asleep. Stepping
inside Genesis ' room, she didn't get up, so he assumed she was
still asleep. Leaving the plate on a table in the room, he left
again, this time poking his head into his own room to check on
Tempest. She was still asleep.
"Hey, just let it out, there's no need to try and keep it in." He
soothed, cleaning up any vomit that had splattered onto Nova's
body. Shrugging off his own outfit, he lay the covering over the
floor, letting the material absorb the contents strewn about the
floor. Glancing towards the cockpit, he wondered when they would
arrive back in thirteen, hoping that Nova wouldn't have to suffer
for much longer.
The stomach acid stung Nova's throat and nose as she brought up the
last of it, coughing and gagging until the nausea had finally
passed over, hopefully for good this time. When Nova had finished
being sick Gateguard steered her over to a chair and had her sit in
it with her head between her knees as he spoke soothingly to her
and rubbed her back. "I hope we get back soon." Nova uttered.
One of the rebel soliders came in to check on the two and upon
seeing the pile of vomit covered by Gategaurd's shirt he sighed and
looked at them. "We'll be back in Thirteen in ten minutes. Try to
keep your stomach down Mockingjay." He then left the way he came,
probbably looking for someone to clean up Nova's mess.
Sighing, Gaeguard smiled and helped clean up, helping clean off
Nova. "That's good, we'll be back soon." He encouraged, not really
minding the mess that Nova made. He was slightly peeved at the tone
the rebel had used, but there wasn't very much he could do other
than help clean up and support Nova.
Nova laid her head on Gateguard's shoulder and closed her eyes to
try to rest. "I can't wait to get off this stupid hovercraft.
Again, I'm sorry for all the trouble, not to metion the mess I
made." Nova's cheeks blushed a bit as she glanced away from the
mess.
Sighing, Chakti grabbed the last plate of pancakes. Trotting back
to the infirmary, he stepped into his shared room, setting the
fragrant food on the small table in the middle of the room. He
looked at Tempest once more, then grabbed a pen and wrote a little
note, leaning it against the plate on her side, hoping she'd see it
if he was asleep. Speaking of sleep, Chakti was exhausted. He
collapsed on his bed, closing his eyes and falling asleep
immediately.
"Really, it's no problem." Gateguard reassured, wrapping her up in
his embrace. Although the acidic smell of stung the back of his
nose slightly he knew that Nova was having a harder time than him.
Clearing his throat slightly, he began to hum a lyric-less tune. It
was a lullaby that he had used to sing for his siblings, slow and
calming like the waves lapping at one's ankles. It helped blanket
the area in a calming wave of peace and relaxation.
Nova smiled a bit, curling into him and and dozing off to the
lullaby that Gateguard was humming. In ten mintues the hovercraft
landed in one of the landing docks. Since Nova was still sleeping
they gave Nova the rest of the day off and Gateguard with a smile
carryied the sleeping Nova back to their room and tucked her in
their bed. Not too long after though just as Gateguard was settling
in to bed Nova turned and looked at him. The two talked for a bit,
mostly wondering what tomorrow would bring. Before just holding
eachother
*Time skip a few weeks in.*
The rebels of 13 seemed to be winning the war, things were going
acording to plan. With all the districts turned against the
Capital, it was putting Snow in a hard spot.
While most of the scars from the Capital and the Games had healed
over during these three week period, to say that Adelaide was
haunted by nightmares was a gross understatement. She often tossed
and turned at night, as she dueled invisible enemies. Enemies by
her creation apparently. Most of the time she didn't show any of
her emotional struggles; just a weary and slightly haunted games.
Her dreams were often demented, and sometimes they left her quite
on edge for hours on end afterwards.
As for her role in the war, well, it was her largest distraction.
She worked as a rather low-ranked battle strategist - when she
wasn't helping to work as a guard for Nova or training Kardia in
hand-to-hand, helping to work around the Capital's minefield of
gruesome traps. She guessed it helped slightly to think of the
whole layout as a rather deadly game of Minesweeper. Adelaide
admitted that with human lives on the line, it was no game, but it
helped her cope. Especially with stress levels that were seriously
through the roof.
Physically, Adelaide was glowing at her prime. The sickly and
malnourished pallor as well as her too-thin frame that she'd dealt
with while enduring Kardia's demise as well as a second Hunger Game
now glowed with strength and vigor. In fact, she felt more like her
old self than anything else. Kardia and her relationship also was
growing, in more ways than none - perhaps romantically if
anything.

Tempest's eyes land on the note can we try again? A small
smile crosses over her face. The answer is both simple and
complicated. Yes.. they will try again, but there was still a small
part that was terrified to allow him into her life. I'll just
have to tell him how I feel... Let him decide if he should take the
risk or not she thinks to herself.
A few weeks later
Tempest has long decided to leave the hospital. Her energy and
usual mood had returned. She decided to go back into her usual
habit of doing her morning run
Leaf, now no longer suffering from morning sickness (or at least
not as much), was walking around with Harlow. They were heading to
see Thyme, who after some work some of the scentitsts were able to
give a new body to. She was currently resting as she recovered from
the reserction of sorts.
Chakti was out of the hospital ward, having received a new arm and
recovered from every injury they had found. He was still trying to
get the hang of the arm, although there was a simple idea behind
it. The arm was linked to a little "crown" on his head that read
what he was trying to do and transmitted it to the mechanical
extension. Surprisingly, he felt right at home with it. The only
problem was that three days without an arm took a huge toll on..
Well, operating said arm. At first, he was clumsy and uncoordinated
with it, but his skills with the replacement slowly grew as he
remembered how to use his left arm. The best part? It was
removable.
Now
Chakti stretched, looking at his mechanical arm and the little
crown on his bedside table. Sitting up, he attached the arm to his
shoulder, feeling the limp mechanics power up as he slipped the
crown on, tucking in under his hair on his forehead. Checking the
time, he smiled, wondering "I wonder if I'll be able to catch
Tempest on her run.." Slipping on something more appropriate
than a pair of boxers and a sleeveless shirt, he stepped out the
door, his mind telling him to get food, but his heart telling him
to try and join Tempest in her morning jog.
Nova was getting checked out, by now her brused ribs were healed
and she seemed alright now. The rebels realsed her from the
hospital and she went to see if she could find Gateguard.
Tempest's eyes brighten when she spots Chaki. She races towards
him, calling his name as she rushes towards him. "What has you
getting up so early?" Tempest asks with a grin once she is within
earshot. Hair has slipped out of her ponytail, which now sticks
against her forehead from the sweat buildup.
Harlow was both excited and nervous to meet Thyme in person. How
would Thyme react?
Echo found himself wandering the halls. He wasn't hoping to run
into Rose, but if he did... that would be nice. He shook his head,
trying to shake the heat growing on his face. He sighed, placing
his hands on the back of his head as he walked.
Leaf and Harlow walked arm in arm down the hall until they reached
Thyme's room. Leaf gently opened the door and Theyme's purple eyes
locked on to Leaf. Leaf parted from Harlow and hugged her sister,
who returned the embrace. "I missed you so much." Leaf whispered,
her voice cracking. "I can't believe you're actually here."
"I missed you too." Thyme said back, tears pricking her eyes.
