Got one to answer. Very happy he's doing well and everything.
Recently changed my PMs to include the fact I'm a senior player on PH. Not sure if there's a difference yet, might change the title as well, which is "Welcome to Pokeheroes!", the most generic auto-bot title EVER.

I just decided that if they don't reply after a few days, just gift them a plushie. That will definitely catch their attention.

I'm really bad at introducing new users to Pokeheroes because none of them respond to any of my private messages... Actually, that's a lie, only 2 out of a lot of newbies responded. I think I know why...my private messages are extremely lifeless and sound like those auto-messages...I just don't know what to say to them to make them know I'm a human not a robot or some auto message...However, I did say that if they had any questions, they could reply to my message....

(I don't know how anyone can reply to a question without NOT being a robot XD)

I am about to hit level 2 and only 1 person has responded which is a rather pathetic ratio unfortunately :/

I've tried changing the message to make it more interesting but nope. Not giving up though (Y)

I made my message sound more "casual" and even gave my new newbie that I got literally right now a Magikarp plushie saying that she should see my message and where she can find it (top right corner)...let's hope she sees my message and replies... :/

so i dont know if this is a glitch or a cap. so i currently have 15 newbies. i've gotten a few more in the past few days, accept them, and then send a message but the thing is, they dont show up on my list. i also haven't been getting that 1 extra point for sending them that first message. very confused about this

The list has a cap of showing the first 15 newbies you have.. then, removes the ones that are inactive for more than 7 days or so.

@BrigitteLindholm : No, you have accepted them.. just that the list has a cap of showing only the first 15 newbies that you've accepted. Unless the Admin changes this, ofc. :S

Others have similar issues like that, if you have checked the previous posts on this thread. ;)

So far I have accepted 32 newbies and had 2 respond and currently got 54 points and im level 2

I send each of my newbies a plushie after sending them the PM and after a few days i check up on their progress.

I ended up just turning off/opting out of the newbies. The vast majority just don't respond, and all the notification ended up doing is making me disappointed when it wasn't a daycare egg or a notification I had been waiting on (trade, thread subscription, etc.).

I had gotten up to 40 points. If things get reworked, I might opt in again, but at the moment it doesn't feel like I'm even helping anyone. :/

I feel sad sometimes...because some of my newbies have stopped playing for weeks now...even the ones that unbelievably respond to my messages...I guess I should be thankful that some of them at least do...I'm on Mentor Level 2 so far...

Feel the same way, unless its reworked, I honestly don't care about this mentor program anymore even though its pretty nice for the moment.. Most of them log off immediately once they join and I check this and don't accept the ones that log off after joining. Then there's the ones that actually care about PH, but can care less about responding to messages. These are the ones I want to actually help - but I cannot because forcing them to respond is the only option until you get into the fun stuff.

People often think the PH sprites are bland. Do they shade? Well, yes they do. You'll be surprised how much care is taken for these sprites.

If any of them are inactive for a week they seem to fall off the list.

There seems to be an issue of someone who had fallen off comes back and replies to your message in that it will not pop back to the main page and offer the next few steps for more points.

I made a bug report the other day. Just a while ago I saw two had popped back and I was able to get more points from them.

Yeah most of mine are active for a bit then poof, they never come back. But i have gotten lucky with one of my newbies:

Honestly its a really good feeling to know ive helped at least 1 person who is new to the site. Here's to hoping they become a good friend. (They messaged me after i offered on one of their trades, so if you see your newbie has a trade up, could be an idea to offer on it if you can because it seemed to work well for me)

I got lucky. One who disappeared for over a week came back, completed the tutorial and is now on level 17! They've asked a couple questions and still plugging away.

I changed my PM a little to offer an incentive for replying in that if they do I will send a "starter package" of items they would find useful - pokeballs, everstones and a few other evo items.

One person replied straight away so I set up a small trade and the link to it even but they have yet to claim it :/

Oh well. I'll keep trying (Y)
