Leo Baskerville ━━━━━━━━━━━•❃°•°❀°•°❃•━━━━━━━━━━━ ![]() [ ɴᴏᴡ ᴘʟᴀʏɪɴɢ : Drunk on Pride ] ━━━━━━━━━━━•❃°•°❀°•°❃•━━━━━━━━━━━ Gender + Pronouns: Who Cares | He/Him Age: 26 Canon or OC: OC Home Region: Celestic Town | Sinnoh Blessed Legendary: Ogerpon Blessing Description: Leo is gifted with 4 different powers that he can only use one at a time, which blessing he is using at each given time signalled by the colour that his brooch shines. The more he uses it, the harder it is to stop using it alongside a specific cost for each blessing. Teal Brooch: Leo hates this brooch and has only ever used it once, and for good reason. This is a blessing of healing, one much more wild and untamed than any other. Vegetation and life grows inhibited around him in a 5 foot radius, filling the area with dense foliage within the span of a minute. Anyone who steps inside the glades will feel refreshed and revitalized and Leo himself seems to almost fall back into who he was, before everything went downhill. He hates it. And thus the cost is even more fitting, for anything that he touches will wither and die, lasting double amount of the time he spent using the blessing. It does not kill humans but it will make them violently sick. The same can not be said for pokemon Cornerstone Brooch: As a defensive mask, Leo rarely does use it though it does have its uses. The blessing strengthens Leo's body acting as the perfect shield and battering ram. With a blessing said capable of breaking even the hardest stone in two, there is very little that can break him at all, his mildly optimistic outlook whenever using this blessing giving him the strength he needs to take upon his body wounds meant for another. But for this stubbornness, equal payment is required and Leo will inevitably fall ill after using the blessing, the nature of the illness varying depending on how long his skin was as sturdy as the very earth. From a passing cough to bedridden fevers, it all depends on how stubborn he is. Wellspring Brooch: A blessing that perfectly balances offence and defence, this blessing heightens Leo's intellect. His sharp analysis makes quick work of any pokemon battle and a sharp memory makes any conversation with him as smooth as a well worn brook. He is very affable and agreeable when using the blessing, full of bright smiles and kind observations, a farcry from his usual acrid personality. Once the blessing has run its course, Leo relives one random memory from before he ever met Ogerpon. The length of the memory is contingent on the length of time spent using the blessing, and while it is possible for him to be snapped out of the memory early, it usually leaves him quite disorientated Hearthflame Brooch: This is Leo's most used blessing and it's easy to see why. Comparatively it is the most straightforward blessing, heightening Leo's anger into a boiling point and feeding off the tempestuous emotion. His physical abilities are heightened to inhuman levels, absolutely hitting harder than even his own pokemon can. He becomes a fighting machine under the Brooch's influence, taking down everything in sight with a calculated eye. Leo is prone to falling into bloodlust and losing his mind in this state. But after such an exhausting fight, his body refuses to work anymore, paralyzing him for double the amount of time he spent using the blessing. He is conscious for the duration of this, awake and made to feel the slow crawl of time inching past. Pokémon Team: ![]() ![]() Hisuian Growthlite | Nickname: Statice | Gender: M | Lv.14 Ability: Intimidate | Nature: Serious | Held Item: None Flame Wheel | Ember | Bite | Howl Leo's greatest achievement and reminder of everything wrong in his life. A product of unethical genetic breeding, Statice is unfit for battle but still does his best to please his master. Too bad his master has little intention of paying any attention to him ![]() Driftblim | Nickname: Oswald | Gender: M | Lv.31 Ability: Unburden | Nature: Timid | Held Item: Sitrus Berry Baton Pass | Calm Mind | Shadow Ball | Tailwind Leo's very first pokemon and eternal partner. Named after the man who adopted him, Leo and Oswald often butt heads and disagree over almost everything. He doesn't approve of anything that is currently going on, but ever loyal Oswald will stick by his master's side and see thing through. Even if he hates the inevitable path it leads to ![]() Dragapult | Nickname: Jabberwocky | Gender: M | Lv.68 Ability: Infiltrate | Nature: Naive | Held Item: Heavy Duty Boots Hex | Draco Meter | U-Turn | Will-o-Wisp Traded to him by someone close to him as a symbol of their deep relationship, Jabberwocky is one of the few on Leo's team who approves of the path his master has chosen. As the only pokemon on the team capable of competitive battle, Jabberwocky often backs Leo up in any fight they encounter on their way to the end ![]() Roserade | Nickname: Demios | Gender: F | Lv.56 Ability: Natural Cure| Nature: Timid | Held Item: Black Sludge Spikes | Protect | Sludge Bomb | Sleep Powder Originally traded away as a symbol of friendship turned something more, Deminos found her way back to her original trainer after an unfortunate incident. She is wholeheartedly behind Leo's actions and often Eggs him on into his darker impulses, supporting him and Jabberwocky in battle. Sometimes she seems angrier than Leo
[pkmn]58[/pkmn][pkmn]426[/pkmn][pkmn]886[/pkmn][pkmn]407[/pkmn]
Appearance: Leo's eyes hold the stars, dead and lifeless as they are, specks of gold glimmering amongst the purple nebulae. Once they were proudly shown off, framed around glasses given to him by a special someone, but not they lay hidden behind unkempt bangs that shifts purple under the sunlight. If you were to lift his thick choppy hair, you would only find a permanent set of heavy bangs and tears stains under those puffy red rimmed eyes that stand out starkly to his lightly tanned skin.. He has taken to wearing ill fitting clothes made for someone much taller than him but are very well made and maintained despite this, a majority of which are quite formal in nature, though a simple red cloak usually covers him. The only thing that seems to fit him is a violet brooch, engraved with statice flowers which he keeps on his person at all times. Personality: INFP - The Mediator | 4w5 - The Bohemian | Chaotic Neutral | Blue/Red with Black Leanings Despite his meek appearance, Leo has an incredible temper, thunderous and tempestuous. He despises higher authority and and does his best to not bother himself with things that actively ignite his anger. Because of his upbringing, he is very self sufficient and prefers to do things on his own, often refusing help and stubborn to a fault. While he may have once put up a cordial front, the current Leo has no qualms with letting his anger run wild, uncaring of the consequences. While he is self aware and deeply introspective, acknowledging that he probably has anger issues and is a little too codependent at times, he has long since given up trying to fix those flaws of himself and instead embraces them fully. There is no room in his life for anything else. General Skillset: Very efficient and straightforward. You ask him to do something? He gets it done. He is also quite good at being pointed at a problem and solving it quickly, be it through his immense wealth of knowledge or lately his more preferred method of just smashing through it. Despite everything, Leo is capable of pulling together a whole host of masks for different occasions, a mild mannered young noble, a stern authoritarian professor, a scared victim, he can play them all to an astounding degree. He just doesn't much care for playing the part for any longer than he needs to. Weaknesses/Flaws: Blinded by anger and grief, Leo will throw himself headfirst into any situation regardless of personal safety or well being. He has become a death seeker, looking to absolutely raze what he can to the ground before he goes. Anything other than this singular goal isn't even worth thinking about anymore Other Information: Leo was a professor that specialize in Sinnoh's history and Hisui's pokemon population. He's particularly interested in the revival of old Hisuian variants of pokemon and has only managed to succeed once by sheer luck. Good things never last long though, and Leo's husband was away in Kalos on a work trip when disaster struck and the news came that he was among the casualties. Leo really never was the same after that. [Read more] |

Scroll down to the last article, featuring an exciting interview with a PH Staff Member! Welcome back to the PH times~ :D ![]() 13/01/2025|| issue #233 || Editor: BoomBoy “No need to hurry. No need to sparkle. No need to be anybody but oneself.” ~Virginia Woolf There's a two-month ongoing Paradox Event! For the months of January and February, you can embark on a special quest entrusted upon you by the professors through time - Professor Sada could give you a quest from the Paldea region to obtain a rare ancestor to Jigglypuff, or Professor Turo could task you with a descendant of Delibird! Let's check these 'mons from a foreign timeline out: To partake in this epochal adventure, you need to have unlocked either the Miraidon or Koraidon quest and have a trainerlevel of at least 35. They have a 1-in-10 chance of coming out of the portal shiny, so why not try your chances? You can complete the challenge as many times as you want, but they'll only stick around until the end of February, so hop on it! Since Professor Rowan's Lab is so highly trafficked during these events, the Admin, Riako, published a fun fact on the matter, saying that 74 Igglybuff Eggs (upon whose evolution the Past Paradox is based) had been hatched a day, in contrast to only 4.5 Delibird Eggs (upon whom the Future Paradox is based)! Rowan has been getting through the Eggs so quickly that he's already handed out one Kantonian Legendary Bird and one Galarian Legendary Horse every day (on average), and one Ditto every 1.5 days! During the chaos, we also heard a peep from Rowan himself, which regulars of Downtown Emera will appreciate as a rarity from the divisive celebrity, amassing fifteen likes in just two hours: 2025 is upon us! Joining the celebrations is a Pokémon that may have evolved from a Frankenstein'd dessert (the Daycare Owner probably eats them for breakfast...), which you can get for your very own at the latest Event Distribution! For just two weeks, until Midday on the 15th of January, you can collect Activity Points around the site and redeem a sweet and wobbly egg! Let's check out what you could hatch: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These fine designs are the handiwork of the newest member of the Pokéheroes Spriting Team, Amuu! They look fantastic! For your first egg, you'd need to collect 4,000 AP (Activity Points), while for a complete set you'd need a total of 24,000 AP. Due to reasons outside of my control, time’s been limited (so much so in fact that I'm reusing this whole section) - and because I’m running this ship on my own, it’s suffered a little in terms of reliability as of late. It’s no secret that the news in this issue isn't "new"s at all, or that quite a lot has had to be missed. I’ve cleared a couple of things from my plate but there’s still very little space left for this beautiful publication that’s been running for over four and a half years. As always, I’m looking for someone to work together with! Whether you take over the role of editor or if it’s just a crude bi-weekly doodle, any contribution is more than welcome!! We’d love to have you onboard no matter how many or how few skills you think you can offer. You can start a new column, restart an old one, write news articles, help me edit, copyedit and collate the paper as a whole, or give us a fun artwork whenever you feel like it. This paper is, as well as the site as a whole, after all entirely recreational - so we want to offer our readers the best, widest and roundest experience we can get. And I guarantee you that you have something of use to offer - a skill, some time, some ideas - even if you think you don’t. Did I mention that you get paid?? If you're interested in getting involved, we'd love to consider you - write a PM to me (BoomBoy). -> Team talking happens over palpad -> Be ready for whenever new content happens (roughly fortnightly) -> You can work on a regular schedule or on a one-off basis -> You receive payment per article/issue -> Due to new management, old writers will need to contact us anew The admin, Riako has made some small changes to the way the Lovemeter works: now, should a conflict with Speed Click Saturday arise, the 2x interaction multiplier won from filling up the Lovemeter will be postponed to the following day. Prior to this change, the multiplier from the Lovemeter would be suppressed. It wasn't uncommon for users to conspire together to push the Lovemeter over the threshold a little early in attempts to counteract an unfortunate alignment. However, now the multiplier will simply be postponed. Additionally, the Lovemeter target has dropped from 20 to 15 million interactions, so you can expect Double Interaction Days to occur quite a bit more frequently! Over the festive period, the Pokéheroes server crashed no fewer than three times. A 3x interaction multiplier was implemented for the duration of the 22nd of December as compensation for the downtime from the Admin, Riako. Two more downtimes on Christmas day itself happened, which Riako compensated with a full extension of premium users' Premium Upgrades and more interaction multipliers between the 26th and 29th of December. We at the PHTimes give Riako our utmost appreciation for his hard work on the technical aspects of keeping this game together, whose server went through a large upgrade programme during 2024. The latest addition to the PokéHeroes staff roster, Amuu, announced some spruced up sprites around Pokéheroes. The spriter, whose calibre extends to the ongoing EventMon and others, made some sweeping changes to each and every Furfrou sprite! Other sprites also got an upgrade, and a large number of minisprites were added too! Read the full details here and don't hesitate to send in bug reports to continue helping to fix these little titbits! Once again, we give a huge shoutout to the sprite team for keeping this game looking as ship-shape as it is! We were lucky enough to have a chat with Amuu, the latest member of the sprite team! "I can only compare myself to a kid in a toy shop! I’m very eager, very excited, and very optimistic about what’s to come!", she said, highlighting that she's only been on the Pokéheroes staff team for a couple of months and that it's still new to her. However, Amuu has an impressive repertoire and history with spriting dating back the best part of a decade: she went to a "spriting school" in her teens, which she "never really took anywhere" but enjoyed a lot. Over the past five years, she's garnered quite a lot of experience with Gamemaker and working on projects such as games and the Pokémon Infinite Fusion Project. Last Tuesday, the admin, Riako, and a member of the spriting team, Akemie, published feeds asking the public for new sprite ideas! Over 130 comments were made, but let's let the userbase be our editors and just take a gander at some of the suggestions that collected at least seven likes: One of the suggestions that particularly stuck out to me was made by ImperialHound on ChikoritaMining's feed: doing something with fireworks, possibly combining the Koffing line. ImperialHound also made this insightful comment: Amuu is in full support of the idea! In fact, she said that one of her favourite pieces of handiwork was a collaboration between her spriting skills and a friend's artistic skills. The sprite in question was a fusion of Garbodor and Goodra; she also said her favourite sprite she's had released on Pokéheroes was the Puddoo line (running at the moment) - I think I'm spotting a pattern! "I've only got two sprites on site at the minute, being the Emera Buizel & Puddy line[.] But, I have to be honest, I have a new sprite that's just around the corner that I hope everyone will love as much as I do, I think it's my best shiny yet!" How exciting! Amuu finally stresses that spriters "are always looking for more event ideas, so please feel free to send any over you might have!" However, especially since Riako and Akemie's feeds, there is a glut of creativity afoot onsite, so don't take it personally if yours don't make the cut. Let us know what you think! Would you like to get involved in such an alternative contest? What do you think of some of the suggestions made? Did you spot a suggestion that you think was worth mentioning in these highlights? Do you have ideas of your own that you want to spread far and wide? (I've heard that certain staff members might even read this publication!) Just let us know anytime by contacting me by PalPad or Private Message! We'd love to hear any of your opinions, gripes, ideas and reactions! Weekly Fun FactIn each edition of the PH Times, you get a fact! If you're lucky they might also be interesting! The audio processed in Pokemon BW2 uses a surprising amount of panning. For example, cries of pokemon on different sides of a battle are panned to different ears and move sfx are often panned to different ears even within the same move (ie sound effects playing at starts and ends of moves). I only know this because one of my ears fell out while playing it lol This is run separately to #aFactADay. If you enjoyed this, find more posted by BoomBoy over here on a daily basis! Instead of premium-exclusive shiny chance, why not suggest an easier way to get shiny bait? (an additional trade exchange for it, using pokemon not used in other trades). Or a pokemon-specific bait that increases encounter and shiny chance? (Ex: exchange 5-10 Wishi Washi to increase chance to encounter normal and shiny Wishi Washi) [Read more] |

the three choices are Happiness, Something rare, and Make me rich! every time you choose Happiness, you will get a jirachi egg if you have an empty spot in your party. every time you choose Something rare, you will get 5 dragon gems or 5 gold boxes or 5 gold keys. every time you choose Make me rich!, you will get some amount of pokedollar (amount unclear). sources from the following forum threads answered by other users! one and two! are they worth it? if you wish, you could shiny hunt jirachi using the pokeradar by hatching jirachi Eggs over and over again. you would need many, many star pieces. one egg costs 5 star pieces, so a chain of 100 as an estimate would take 500 star pieces. currently, star pieces cost around 28k pd per piece. dragon gems are worth less (14k atm), gold boxes are worth less (25k atm), and gold keys are also worth less at 17k per. therefore, it is not worth the value to pick Something rare. for Make me rich!, i do not know the exact pd amount it gives you, but i know it is 50k or less. but if one star piece is worth 28k, 5 star pieces are worth 140k. the option definitely does not give you that much pd, so this option is not worth it either. overall, if you do not want to hatch jirachi Eggs or shiny hunt it, it is more worth it to sell your star pieces to other users on gts or item market! Maybe for every 5 retro eggdex entries, the shiny chance for retro (currently 2%) will increase by 0.1% or 0.05%. With 35 entries, that would be a 2.7% or 2.35% shiny chance As for emera eggdex, there is another suggestion about a way to increase the chance of getting event Eggs. The reward for the emera eggdex could be: every 20 eggdex entries could slightly increase event Eggs chance (1% / 0.5%) OR shiny chance (0.05%). With 180 entries, the event egg chance increase would be 9% / 4.5%, while event shiny chance would be (with max chance pokeradar and shiny charm) 1.775% (non premium) / 3.2% (premium) I think one of the problems this could cause is that emera mon could get more expensive, since now people have a reason to buy event breeding pairs, especially for new and/or inactive users. Also, for retros/unbreedable emeramon, it could encourage everyone to participate in the event for the egg instead of just buying from auction, but it's also troublesome for those who missed it, since that means they'd have to wait for a rerun, or buy the event egg from shop (like Santa birb and Shadow Lugia) [Read more] |
