Welcome everybody to this year's

PokéHeroes Oscars

Where we will be honoring some amazing roleplays and fanfictions made between May 1st of 2020 and April 30th 2021! Big thanks to LordSamton, Suvichan, our amazing sponsors (Shinigamii, Darkheart, Weebu, and LordSamton), The PH Times, and the many unnamed voters who helped us this year!

Remember, where you are determines the time the event will take place. However it will be 2 hours after reset on Saturday for peeps in the Western Hemisphere those being North and South America, and Sunday for the Eastern Hemisphere those being Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe I’m using this as an example. in order of when it will be presented is:

Fanfictions:
Most Dark Scene
Most Dramatic Scene
Most Comedic Scene
Most Creative
Best Original Fanfiction
Best Adapted Fanfiction
Best Short Story
Best Written Character

Roleplays:
Best Ensemble Cast Performance
Best Supporting Villain
Best Written Scene
Best Up and Comer
Best Supporting Roleplayer
Best Adapted Story
Best Original Story
Best Pokemon Roleplay
Best Villain
Best Roleplayer

And at the end of it all
Best Fanfiction and Best Roleplay!
before anyone asks, no Riako will not be presenting these…. Or will he?

Some rules however:
Show hidden content
1. Only speak if you are presenting or you have won an award. Keep Congratulations in Palpads or PM's so the event isn’t thrown off the rails

2. If you have won the award and chose to accept, please be quick with your acceptance speech. You will have about 3 minutes after you win to post your acceptance speech, after those 3 minutes we will move on. If you miss your window, however, that's fine, just accept at the end of the ceremony.

3. If you win but have someone to accept on your behalf, please have them include proof that you gave them permission to accept on your behalf as well as state “I am accepting on [blank’s] behalf”

4. Winners will receive a prize of one golden mystery item and a mini trophy commissioned by quoll. However, please give credit to quoll if you chose to display the award on your profile, diary, etc.

Hello everyone! Welcome to the 2nd Annual Pokeheroes Forum Oscars! We have so many firsts this year. For many of the nominee’s, they are enjoying their first Oscar nominations! I myself am enjoying not only being the host of the Oscars, but also a nominee for my fanfiction, Angel of the Shadows subtle plug. Writing can be quite difficult-- as someone who has done quite a bit of writing this past decade, I say this knowingly. Fanfiction itself is on an entirely different level of difficulty-- you must work with the subject material to craft a cohesive story with profound impact-- and yet this year's nominees have proven not to be hindered by these challenges in the slightest. Taavi was originally supposed to present this award but they needed to pull out last minute so I was asked to present on their behalf. This is what they wanted to say:

Creativity is the backbone of modern day society. It's what is used when artists do their work. It's what environmentalists use when they come up with new ways to recycle things. And if you're a student, it's what you use to explain why you don't have your homework to turn in, its what you use to make incorrect qoutes. The beauty of any story is how it's written. For me, a great story is made in its imagery and how the author makes you imagine the beautifully imaginative world they created. But what good is that if your characters aren't beautifully written as well. The 5 nominees with us tonight all captured the amazing subtleties of their characters and made us wish for more. But unfortunately they cant all win, as much as I wish they could. Here are the nominees for "Written Character":

A shapeshifter, adopted and manipulated by an evil queen, the promising young villain who wants to learn from the best, the traitorous and despicable councilmember of a kingdom at war, and the corrupted, yet misunderstood sister of a maniacal tyrant. While at first these may seem like characters in a medieval soap opera, these are the characters who have landed their creators nominations for PH Oscar's.
