Every Heart a Doorway, Charlie noted. If this guy thought it was that good, it was definitely going to be added to her mental list of things to read. Noticing him heading in the same direction as her, she felt a little flurry of pride that she was going to be in the same history class as someone as smart as him. While she was lacking in subjects like English and Biology, History was her wheelhouse, and she was quite advanced for her age. Deciding to pick a seat next to the resident bookworm, she flashed Elliot a smile as she scooted her box underneath her seat and pulled out a notebook and textbook for the class. Unfortunately, she'd have to tote that box around for a while, as there was no way it would fit in her locker. Settled, Charlie reached over and tapped the boy's arm. "You're Elliot, right? I'm Charlie. Not a big fan of history? You seem much more invested in your personal library than this class," she teased, a slightly amused smile on her face.

They scanned the room slowly and, it took them a way too long moment but, they eventually noticed Thea minding her own business. "AH! WE'RE IN THe same class! What!!" They smiled and pointed at her as they yelled, noticing they were yelling mid sentence and lowering their voice the tiniest bit. They definitely disturbed anyone else in class on top of potentially getting unwanted attention on Thea. And for no real important reason, too.
"That's pretty cool!" They didn't seem to care about anyone eyeing them for their loudness, instead deciding to focus almost entirely on Thea. They set their backpack down and sat cross-legged on a seat adjacent to her while also facing her. This fixation can be a little overbearing, but it looked like Ava didn't even consider that.
"listen, the freshmen always write your homework for you if you greet them, at least that worked for us" rosaline highfived ava.

Charlie smiled, nodding as Elliot explained his views on history. He was absolutely right about the age of kings being fascinating, especially as it related to magic and such. She was very proud of her bakery's own heritage, passed down from person to person for generations. "That's fair. I don't pay much attention in English or bio, especially since I don't really need to learn them. I mean, I've pretty much already got my life's work going for me! It would be a little hard to be a writer or biologist and a baker," Charlie said, tapping the box under her desk with a light foot. She glanced at his stack of books again. "Well, if you're not a fan of history, what's got you hooked? Besides all of those, I mean," the teen said, gesturing to Elliot's novels. "You seem to have some of everything there."
"Haha yeah that's so cool," she mutters under her breath, slightly petrified. It isn't like she isn't used to oddballs in her life, but oddballs at school? Aren't those usually the delinquients? Was her dad right in his worries?
She sits completely straight and tries to focus on the teacher. After this class it was just Social Studies. That was good enough, right? She can focus in Social Studies. Sure.
rosaline also turns to thea. "you must have lots of friends, if you even knew ava before coming here! by the way ava, how did you know it was thea if you only talked on a forum?" rosaline cocked her head. thea hasn't been to any of the summer gatherings either.
"Really? Hahaha me too that's so funny we're really good at this huh let's just hurry over in this direction for no particular reason haha," he says as he nearly runs past the school's actual entrance and more towards... the blind side of the school.
'Oh, Valentin. You're really in for it now.'
"Oh, yeah, tons of friends..." Thea rubs the back of her head. 'I knew Ava was gonna be talkative, but I never imagined they would talk this much!' she hurriedly tries to think up some sort of excuse. Game. Whatever.
"I have a really fun game, actually!" she puts both of her hands up like a child's gameshow host. "It's called paying close attention to the blackboard!"
It is first afterwards that Thea realizes just how much like a pretentious old man she sounds like.
Ava slightly leans to Rosaline's side and giggles at the joke. They whispered back, "A cow on a trampoline? to make MILKSHAKE? That's hilarious, Rosa. You should totes do stand up." They genuinely suggested and then placed a finger on their chin, tapping almost rhythmically. "I mean, who wouldn't be entertained by us? We are super fun. Funnest people ever, even."
