T'val could only smile as Narukami danced with her, their spirits clearly both rising. Her grin never left, even as her face started to ache and even as Narukami did her best to dance, only with minor success. T'val did keep an eye on the afterimages floating around, wary of them even as they danced. One of them froze in mid-air, drifting off to the side as if broken. It's face read, Yay!

Meeting his gaze with a disappointed look, she shakes her head no. "Perhaps you could request one?" She asks with a grin. "Afterall, we seem to be royalty around here." She rolls her eyes and returns her gaze to the city below. "It's sickening that we are being celebrated to be brought to our deaths. These people are truly mad." She clenches her fists, once again feeling the urge to destroy the Capitol, but she knew that that was impossible to do alone, especially for the likes of her.

Phenix gave a hearty chuckle, finding something funny. "I doubt they'd let me have a piano in here. I already attacked a citizen from the train, and they probably know that. Who knows what I could do with all that wood and all those metal strings?" He was clearly being sarcastic, as if taunting the Capitol to strike him down. Shaking his head, he settled his arms on the railing again, gazing out at the city. "It's sad, really. Their minds. It's all a competition to be better, look better than everybody around you. It's a brutal way to live."

A little hitch in her footsteps had Narukami stumbling for a moment but she quickly caught herself, eyes shooting up as she re-centered her balance with a laugh. Catching a look at the unusual projection, she only laughed harder. Yay indeed. Opening her mouth, Narukami began to sing, made up lyrics flowing as best as it could along with the unfamiliar song, voice lifting their little moment of joy up. "Be happy, fall more in love and someday you'll make all the flowers pop open and sparkle. Now, try smiling – look, that smile is your greatest treasure." Her tongue stumbled over the words, sometimes never matching up perfectly with the beat, but it was a patchwork masterpiece.

Lifei woke up to the beautiful singing, melodious and sweet. She listened for a while, recognising the second tune, Fur Elise. She took out a flute from it’s case, and walked out to the balcony, letting her hair flow as she played the same tune, her dress lightly flowing in the wind. Soon after, Echo joined in, with a violin, the two instrument merging in a cacophony of music, each one complementing the other, none trying to overpower the other, the wind carrying the tune far and wide. The music was sadder, but also hopeful, emotions poured into the song

"Very impressive" Maci says to the first part. She would've done the same if she were in that position. She glances at him with a look full of respect. It falters slightly at the last part. She snorts at the last part in disgust and returns her gaze to the city. "I'm not about to feel sorry for them. I'd rather live a life full of competition rather than a life filled with struggling." She didn't want to put herself in their shoes, especially since they wanted to see her die. It's hard to feel sorry for people like that. But she keeps that thought to herself. "You mentioned something about their minds and attacking a citizen from the train? Are you some sort of crazy mind reader or something?" She asks with a laugh. "You don't need to answer that of course, that information could be dangerous... Whatever it is, that sounds like an amazing power. Although I hope you put it into good use and continue to attack the real threats."

"It's.. Similar to that," Phenix said to the idea of the mind reading. "More like an invasion than a reading. I can poke around, grab information... It does a few nasty things to them too. Horrific hallucinations, psychosis, hysteria... All the things you hear about people getting locked up in asylums for." He shrugged, then started speaking again. "I can 'grab' memories and push them forward, make them see it again, but if I stay in their mind for too long, the just shut down. Like a coma, almost. But they won't wake up. It's like a prison, I think. Trapped in their own mind and body." Phenix trailed off, listening to instruments in the distance and watching the sun kiss the horizon.

T'val grinned at the singing, thinking only about how beautiful Narukmai's voice was. It flowed like the tide, mixing beautifully with the notes T'val hummed. It was indeed a patchwork masterpiece, and something T'val would remember forever. The dancing, the singing, the music, everything was blissful then. It took her mind off of what may very well be her death, the arena. It was lovely.

"That sounds horrible." Suddenly Maci feels bad about her earlier comment. Even if these people wanted to see her dead, did they deserve this much torment? Maci wasn't totally sure. "That's a very dangerous power you yield" she adds softly. She quiets down to listen to the other music. Her body swaying slightly with the melody. She smiles to herself, remembering the evenings her and Jaxon spent dancing to music. It was one of the few things that truly made her feel alive. This music felt like home. All she was missing was Jaxon.

A new sound came into the mix, a violin she guessed. Letting out a laugh, Narukami could only sing and sing until her voice gave out, unused to the amount of strain that she had put on it. "Gently close your eyes, take a deep breath, take a step forward, and in that moment you won’t be so alone, I’m right here with you, it’s alright." There were others who were lifting their own spirits through music, Narukami knew it if she listened over the sonorous mess that they were weaving from their merriment. It was a wonderful thing, that for only a night all of the tributes could throw away their worries and enjoy their lives as if it was the last night they could. It kind of was, after all.

Lifei’s song gradually changed, from Fur Elise, to a much sadder, more depressing one. It foretold of danger forthcoming, a warning, a reminder to unite, and stand together. The song was heavily meaningful, enveloped with a silent wish, a urge for the tributes to stand together. It carried warning of fear, and anger, a feeling of rebellion. People scattered, hope lost, and a never ending tunnel of black. The song mourned for the lost, but carried such a sense of great hope. Echo’s violin notes, too become more ominous, slow, lower sounding notes. The two made the music carry far and wide, a song of willpower and hope, of mourning and grief, and of unity.

Ariel nodded. "Yeah, I think she's gaining your powers, but it's a little too soon to tell to be honest. But then again, that's what my motherly instincts are saying."

Phenix grunted in agreement, casting his gaze down to the base of the building. "I hate to really say it, but.. I don't fear the ability, I don't hate it when I break people. But part of me writhes in agony, wishing that I would use it to numb pain instead of cause it." He sighed, straightening his cloak before continuing. "When I had first learned to control the power, I figured out that I could stop the torment that it brought. Every night after that, I sat with my little sister, staring into her eyes and pulling on happy memories. I remember-" He choked, closing his eyes. "I remember the last and happiest memory I showed her was of her and I, sitting by the lake with our feet in the water." Phenix tried to keep his shoulders from shaking, and he thought he did a good job. Tears did well in his eyes, but he hoped the distance between the balconies was enough to hide them.

T'val was pausing her humming to take a breath more often than when she had started, her energetic dancing slowing. She was clearly getting tired, but her smile still remained, clearly not forced in an attempt to keep Narukami smiling. After a moment, she sat down hard, letting out a quick breath and sucking in another one. She smiled up at Naru, almost laughing at the whole thing, the dancing, singing, humming, music, everything. Once she caught her breath, T'val tilted her head. Another song was playing now, from a flute or another wind instrument.

Questions ring in Maci's head. Did something happen to his sister? What else happened in that memory? Did something happen that changed his power? Did it have something to do with his sister? She keeps quiet, not wanting to push it. She turns away, knowing that he probably didn't want her to see him break apart. "I'm sorry" is all she says, although it's unclear what she is saying sorry for. "Maybe you can still use your powers for good. Something must be holding you back?"

"The only thing really holding me back from anything is a promise I made. She asked me to promise that I'd always keep her in mind." His voice wavered, as if hell-bent on cracking, but somewhat nervous about it. "She's been at the front of my mind, for as long as I've been alive. She told me once about how she hated the Capitol so much, and how she wanted to win the Hunger Games and try and break Snow. She wanted the Hunger Games to stop, and for all of the twisted people here to vanish. She was maybe seven, then. She didn't know exactly how she wanted it to happen. But I told her I'd do it for her. I was too nervous at first, until she got taken as a Tribute. She made it back, gods know how, but..." He trailed off, glancing at the underside of a wrist. "She told me a name before the poison fully took effect. She told me who had managed to reach her. That year was a special event, with two Victors. The other one is back here again." Even from the distance Maci was at, she likely could have seen the tattoo on Phenix's wrist: Sedric Fornes. "I don't care if I make it out alive, but I won't die until that brute is torn apart from the inside." Turning his gaze to Maci, he pushed his sleeve back down to his wrist. "What about you? Anything you've come here to do?"

Yurei stared up at the ceiling. Worry, frustration and regret overwhelming her. She felt her heart crack when she had seen Mare in the blue dress she had worn for the parade. "This isn't fair. This really isn't fair." she kept repeating to herself. Yurei finally had to except that this was real. Mare had gone to bed early, and was asleep in the room next to Yurei's. Yurei took a deep breath and quietly sang a "mixup" song to herself. It was a song Mare had loved at a young age, and it brought tears to Mare's eyes when she heard it.

"When things are right then you just know
There is something in your eyes that brings me home
'Cause when there's love, you don't let go
So as long as you're with me you're not alone, you'll never be

I'll cross my heart
And hope to die
We're always and forever, I'll be by your side
When days are dark
And stars don't line
We're always and forever till the end
The end of time"

When we look back, and when we're old
We'll see your footprints next to mine along the road
And I don't know, what the future holds
But as long as you're with me you're not alone, you'll never be"

Yurei stopped there. She had tears pooling in her eyes and it took all her strength not to let them fall. Her hands begin to shake in anger. One of the avoxes cleaning her windows falls, and starts shaking. Yurei feels the avox's sanity begin to drain. The avox screams before falling silent, and lying on the ground, twitching like a ferret. Yurei stands up, exits her room to the balcony, and slams the glass door behind her. She pulls herself onto the bars and leaps onto Mare's balcony. She enters through the open glass door and shuts it behind her. She sits on a chair next to Mare's bed and begins to cry.

"I'm sorry for you loss" Maci repeats. "Your sister seemed very brave, I just know if she were alive today she would've done a lot of good for the world." She glances over at his wrist and memorizes the name on it. Maybe if she got the chance, she could lead Phenix to him and allow him to get his revenge. She shakes her head at his last question. "All I want to do is survive and make it back to the man I love." This wasn't exactly the truth. She would love to be like Phenix's sister and destroy the Capitol. "If I had the strength and the power, I would take this opportunity to destroy the Capitol. Lucky for them, I've grown weak, I haven't even had an ability since I was young. I don't even remember what it was" she admits.

Phenix looked up, then over at Maci. "You forgot?" A sort of gleam floated in his eyes, as if he were thinking of something either very clever, or very harsh. He grinned. "What if you remembered it, just out of the blue? As if something grabbed it and pushed it towards you?" He tried to make eye contact with her, his irises stirring with yellow. As with the Edelstein man, he wouldn't hurt her. But unlike the Edelstein, he wouldn't try to steal any secrets.

Sorrento let out a small hum, nuzzling closer with a sigh. "Well, you weren't wrong about the triplets so your motherly instincts must be pretty strong, just like the rest of you." Out in the corridors and leaking through the balcony, Sorrento could hear music, the lilting tunes a peaceful background noise as the couple rested.

Stumbling, Narukami's shoulder hit the wall as she slid down to sit on the floor laughing all the way. Catching her breath as her cheeks stung and sides ached from the amount of mirth she was feeling, senses a little overwhelmed with how overstimulated the whole day had been. Meeting T'val's gaze, she returned the smile. "Thank you." She breathed out, sweat dripping down her brow both at the heavy clothing she was wearing and the exertion she had put into their impromptu jam session.

T'val grinned, her panting halting her from saying 'you're welcome.' Instead she just nodded slightly, her own body struggling to keep up with her mind. She too had found her senses overwhelmed and confused, and her cheeks and sides ached as well. Still, it was worth all of the pain to see somebody smiled, especially Narukami. Her smile glittered like diamonds and stars, stunningly beautiful. T'val realized that Naru, this young woman who had nearly shouted at her to stop chewing her nails, was quickly becoming the second greatest friend she'd ever had, only Jamie managing to stay above on the metaphorical rank list.

"That's impossible, I-" she meets his gaze and her pupils immediately dilate as a long forgotten memory is suddenly brought up.

"You have a very unique power...." The voice sounded distant. It was hard to interpret- it sounded like she was underwater. "So why don't you use it?" She falls onto the ground and immediately starts coughing up water before taking desperate gasps of fresh air. A boy, she realized she knew him, an older cousin, stands in front of her. "This sparring match is lame" he says with a sigh. "You aren't even trying."
"Again!" Maci challenges, as she stands up on wobbly legs.
"No way, I'm afraid I'll hurt you" the boy replies.
"Again!" Maci repeats much more forcefully. The boy sighs and rolls his eyes. He extends a hand and a giant bubble of water floats towards her. The water was black while the outer edge of the bubble was a dark purple. It was pretty to look at, but dangerous to be in. It was easy to suffocate. Suddenly, the bubble disintegrates, the small pieces that hit Maci don't cause any damage. "Your moves are too predictable for me, again." Maci urges. Both her and her cousin smirk at eachother with a challenging look. The real match was just about to begin.

Maci gasps at the memory. She takes a fearful step backwards- away from Phenix. Although she wasn't afraid of him specifically. "I remember now!" She says at a near whisper. "I could cancel attacks!" She looks at him with an exciting look. "I can't believe it... I can't believe I actually had such a strong power" Still, one question kept ringing in her head: What had actually happened that made her lose her power? All she could remember was being sick. But surely a strong power like hers wouldn't disappear due to a sickness.
