When you newbie mentor others, you get points and level up. I believe that people would be agree that this function needs an upgrade. I believe that with those points you should be able to trade in said points for Pokemon or other items, or another suggestion would be to give people with higher levels benefits as a reward for helping others.

I agree because you mentor so many newbies but dont get any benefit except the feeling that you are doing something good.

Thanks to Kamini for making my avatar! :)

When you mean Pokémon, do you mean like a special event Pokémon that would only be received if you were working as a mentor? Because if it’s like any other type of Pokémon I don’t see the value of it.

Yes, When I was talking about pokemon I was talking about event pokemon. (Maybe even Zarude since he hasn't been added)

I don't support. Not everything should come with a reward and rewarding people that mentor a Newbie, could have a negative effect on the kind of help the Newbies are going to get.

I forgot to mention this but there should be a thing where the newbie has to rate said trainer to see if they actually did a good job and the better the rating the better the points.

While that would help some, I still feel like helping Newbies through the Mentoring Program, shouldn't require a reward.

Even with the rating system, this will have a negative effect on the kind of help that will be given.

I ferl that the reward should be something like a mentor level that could have an espace on rank lists (higher mentor level for example)

I definitely think rewards would hinder the quality of mentoring, regardless of a rating system or not. A big reward, like mentoring-exclusive Pokemon, would be an even worse idea. Not everyone wants to be mentoring, and it isn’t something people should be forced to do to finish the pokedex.

Mentoring should not be a rewarded thing. It needs to be something done by people who are capable of and enjoy mentoring others, people who do it for the sake of helping others and not for a reward.

Title: I agree!

I think that this will be a good idea. I have a few friends (no longer active) who spent the game not having a mentor apparently. This will encorage people to mentor. But instead of pokemon maybe items like pokeball or nuggets for points. Anyway, bad mentoring is still beter than no mentoring

No support

You mentor people for fun and to help them, it doesn't require a reward. It's an optional thing, and it wouldn't be fair if some people didn't get a reward just because they choose not to be a mentor.

@ninetails

This would encourage people to help mentor people, and it’s way better for the newbies, as some don’t even get any. This will improve the overall gameplay for newbies

I think thats how it works? If you choose not to participate in a contest, you don’t get a prize. :\

I strongly disagree, yes we do deserve a prize but you already get something from mentoring newbies-Possible friendships and lots of experience and memories! I don't think you need points or anything else- If everyone does something for a prize- people might do it just for the "prize"

As a newbie, I appreciated the couple people who helped out or gave some advice when I joined. I think it would be annoying for newbies if a bunch of people tried doing this just so they could earn a prize... it wouldn't really be genuine mentoring or help for newbies.

when i was a newbie,no one actually mentored me and the first pm i had was
"hi"
thats it.with a new update tho,it would make the mentoring better and make the pms more meaningful.I love helping, but sometimes newbies dont reply and many dont care tho(so maybe cut the whole thing tho,cuz many could just go to forums,go to introductions, and mentor them)

I don't support this idea. The existence of prizes could cause the mentor to only do the things that could get them points, and not try to help the newbie at all.
