I really hope it's not a super special reward. If the reward is made too special (exclusive Pokemon, exclusive item, nuggets) it's not very fair to the users who can't enter the mentor program (or everyone stuck in the unlucky "no response" limbo, like the majority of this topic XD).

If it's just something cosmetic like a tag or medal, or something simple like a decent amount of PD or gems, that would probably be better/more fair. The point of the mentor program is to help the newbies. By introducing a "prize," it kind of takes away the spirit of helping others just out of the goodness of your heart.

I was wondering about the pt system as well after seeing it here in the main post...

The tag idea is cute! What about being able to trade them for Event Points? We already have so many ways to collect Festival Points, but after awhile there's not much left to buy, but with Event Points we always have the option to be able to get Event Eggs. Just an idea lol

Event points would be a good idea! If I remember correctly, the only way to earn those is via chests, the Advent Calendar (might just be vouchers, idr), and outright purchasing them with nuggets. It might even be possible to exchange the mentor points for event vouchers (ex. so many gets you a common one, a bit more for an uncommon, etc.).

Haha, we're all speculating, but it's entirely possible the points/level system doesn't actually do anything! We're still kind of in a "test run" mode with the mentor program since it's so new to the site.

I personally really love the idea, but yeah its kinda sad when they dont answer haha. As mentioned before I can understand that getting a direct PM when you start this game can feel a bit scary. I think that this system needs a bit time, we'll have some more expiernce in the future and maybe things will go more smoothly by then.
I've had 3 newbies in total and only 1 answered but hasn't come online since haha.

I would suggest that maybe you could get a ''badge'' like the premium badge and staff badges etc, the badge could be obtained at like level 5 for ex. and with every x-amount of levels would get upgraded to a fancier look and a better title (smth like Starting Mentor-Professional Mentor etc).

About the point system, I don't think that the rewards should be exclusive and only obtainable by these mentor points. People would maybe start mentoring just to get these points and get the rewards, the goal here is to help new people (like PrincessGreenie said). Instead it could be some fun stuff to maybe personalize your ''Mentor Badge'' like colours, borders etc..

These were just some opinions/ideas I had ;p

One thing I noticed today as that the first two people on my list have dropped off. Neither has been on since they registered and none have responded to the initial PM :/

Has anyone else lost players from their list?

I am really pleased with all the ideas floating around and would love some input from staff if possible.

One interesting thing has happened. I got a notification of a new player but when I clicked on it I got a message to the effect that the offer no longer existed for that person or another mentor agreed to help them. Not seen that before.

Anyone else seen anything different today?

Actually yeah. Mine went from 11 to 10. It’s good to know that if they end up quitting and/or never messaging you that they get removed from our list. Keeps things clean so I’m happy about that

All of mine are still there, including two that left the site at step #2 and two that left at step #3. It might be that they're still "new" enough that the site hasn't purged them yet.

If that’s the case then I will go from 4 to 1 in the next few days. I feel like a creep knowing how far along they are whenever I look at my mentor page, just... just message me back guys I swear I’m a nice person and you will have so many plushies from me
Be like otters!

Hold those you love close so they don’t drift away❤️

That's cause requests are always sent out to a few different people at a time ^^ Someone must've accepted before you did.

They disappear if they've been inactive for a week or if they've been mentored for two months ^^ Seeing as this thing hasn't been launched for two months yet, I guess it's the first!

Thanks for answering that SilverStar! I didn't know if that was a glitch or if new players are offered to all registered Mentors. That'c cool.

Sad that they drop off but better that than linger on a list if they aren't going to be active :/
Do you know if they were to come back within the 2 months if they would come back to the mentor's lists?

Not sure what happened but I leveled up as a Mentor..

I was at..

Your Mentor Level: 1
Total Mentor Reward Points: 50

Then, I suddenly became..

Your Mentor Level: 2
Total Mentor Reward Points: 51

I don't know what triggered it though.

Here is my newbie assignments:

Maybe, it was whenever someone finished their Tutorial even if they don't PM you back or something like that? :O

I won the "Event Spriting Contest" as it says on News Announcement #224.

It seems like when you reached 15 newbies.. the new ones that you have accepted are not added in your list anymore.

And, there's no additional page for them either. :S

Now, I'm not sure I really did accepted them.. Oh, well. :D

I was able to find the few that fell off my list by looking at the first post I made (thankfully). SilverStar said that if they are inactive for a week they fall off the list. Sad but if they choose not to play then why keep track?

I think I will be making a list of all of mine to keep track of even if they do fall off.

Hm. I guess one of my previous newbies has "fallen off", since one of the newer newbies that I accepted earlier just showed up on my list now.. still showing only the first 15 newbies though. :O

This kinda assured me that I did accepted to mentor that newbie. Lol. :D

EDIT :

3 newbies that has "fallen off" my list were offline for at least 8 days each. :c

I was wondering, does anyone know the exact reuirements for becoming a mentor? Like do you have to be a certain Trainerlevel or something?

I don't think it's being "nervous". Its that many of these newbies are one of those join site and quit after a few minutes if its bad people. I bet if Riako deletes the accounts again it'll go back to the 90000s to be honest. Kinda annoys me, but thats how life works and you can't really force them. Though of course I would just love to take out that they have to comment back altogether and maybe make it look something like this:

Communicate with your newbie via PM 0/1
Interact with a pokemon in your newbies party 0/6
Send your newbie a plushie 0/1
Send a gift to your newbie (must contain an evolution stone) 0/1
Newbie completes tutorial 0/11
Newbie reaches Trainer level 5 0/5
Newbie reaches Trainer level 10 0/5
Newbie reaches Trainer level 15 0/5

This allows you to do more with your newbie without them leaving forever becoming a hassle.

The punishment for being banned/getting a warning are way to harsh. If you get temporarily banned you have to wait two years! And just for a simple warning its more than a month.

I also love the trading mentor points idea. This could be a nice way to spice this up, but things shouldn't be limited to just mentor points as you know.... It's not really fair to those "certain" users....

*12 Event Points,3 Mentor Points
*Common Voucher,300 Mentor Points
*Uncommon Voucher,500 Mentor Points
*Rare Voucher,925 Mentor Points
*Special/Legendary Voucher,1625 Mentor Points
*60 Dream points,150 Mentor Points
*Victini Egg,1000 Mentor Points
*Shiny Victini Egg,100000 Mentor Points

This makes event points much easier to get without making them nothing and gives Victini finally an actual way to get it!

People often think the PH sprites are bland. Do they shade? Well, yes they do. You'll be surprised how much care is taken for these sprites.
