Grab your bathing suit, your fishing rod and a sand shovel - it is BEACH TIME!
The Emera Beach is finally open for all trainers of Emera Town, and obviously also for all tourists who seek relaxing holidays! There are different attractions waiting for you: Besides chilling under the sun, you can join the local fishermen and try your luck at fishing. Or you take a break at a reopened beach restaurant - Los Seashellos!
Fishing
The main new feature of this update if fishing for Pokémon.
When you first go to the Emera Beach, you will meet two new NPCs - one of them will gift you an
Old Rod! You
will unlock more advanced rods after catching a few Pokémon.There are 40 different Pokémon species that you can catch. Some are rarer than other's obviously! (So prepare for hoarding Magikarp)
All caught Fish-Pokémon are automatically put into your Fish Box. There you can decide whether you want to adopt a Fish Pokémon or release it again. Note that there is a daily adoption limit. (However, the Pokémon stay in that box "forever" until you either adopt or release them, so don't worry about that limit too much. They will not disappear at midnight or something.)
Fishing Mini Game
Once you received a rod, you are ready to fish! Go to the Emera Beach and click on the yellow square in the top right corner. There you can select a rod and (optionally) a bait. To save your selection, click again on the square.
Next click on "Throw rod". You will
see a male/female player (depending on your gender setting). As
soon as a "!!"-symbol pops up above their head, click on "Pull rod
back"!
When you are fast enough, the mini game starts on the left side of the screen. You will see a blue vertical bar with a black mysterious fish and a yellow bar which is going up and down. All you need to do is press "Pull" when the yellow bar is directly behind the black fish. When you press it in the right moment, the fish goes up a bit - when you fail, the fish goes back down.
When the fish reaches the top, you catch it!
Shiny Fish
These Fish-Pokémon can sometimes be shiny! Various unlockable items will help you to strongly increase your chances of catching Shiny-Pokémon.
Shiny fish-hunting (similar to the PokéRadar) is currently not implemented.
Catching items
Sometimes you might also catch an item! There are around 50 different item types swimming in the ocean - including some very very rare ones!
This update adds about a dozen new
items to the game. Some can be sold for money at the Item Shop or
exchanged with the new beach NPC, Leah!
Fishing with bait
You can get bait randomly from fishing or by exchanging items with Leah.
There are different types of bait: Some increase your chances to catch rarer fish; some make it easier to keep them on the hook; or some other's even have more special effects, like increasing your shiny chance!
You can use bait the same way you select a rod: Click on the yellow square in the top right corner of the fishing interface and then click on the bait that you want to use. Click on it again to remove the bait.
Note that bait wears off after catching some Fish-Pokémon. Normally a bait can be used for around three catches.
Energy
Fishing costs you Energy.
Energy is restored automatically after time. However, you can also regain Energy by eating something at the Los Seashellos restaurant! But don't eat too much, or you might drown...

Los Seashellos
The Los Seashellos is a fancy restaurant at the beach. There you can buy various refreshing drinks and tasty meals. Both will restore your energy - so stop by whenever you are feeling tired!
... Oh, and don't forget to tip the waiter!
Leah the MermaidAnother exciting addition to this huge update is a new important NPC: Leah, the Mermaid!
Leah is a young girl who can mostly be found near the great rocks, a little further away from the main beach. She is a very friendly nature, so make sure to visit her from time to time!
Leah is looking for different items and Fish-Pokémon every day. She is offering you exchanges where you can give her some caught stuff for her rare items.
Note that she only wants fresh fish! She will not accept Fish-Pokémon that are already in your Party or Storage Boxes. When you accept one of her exchanges, only Pokémon from your Fish Box are taken.

EDIT : Uhm.. I noticed that the mini game is not so "mobile-friendly" at all.. well, for me and my android S5 phone, anyways.. :c
But, yeah, after catching that 1 measly but sort of glitchy Magikarp.. I have a better time playing it on my PC, much easier, I'd say.. since I currently have upgraded to a Good Rod and some tasty baits. c:
It'll be ultra nice if it really was "mobile friendly"..? :B (Y)
