Hello! I am here to suggest a new feature that ties in with an Evolution Item called the Wonder Key, which can be used to transform a Pokémon into a Toy Pokémon - the adorable, clunky wind-up toys we all know and love from the Pokémon Rumble series, most recently featured in the free game Pokémon Rumble World.

For those of you who don't know, the Wonder Key is an item that is used to wind up Toy Pokémon and bring them to life, fighting almost as real Pokémon. More details can be found here.

In effect, the Wonder Key should transform a Pokémon into a Toy Pokémon. Naturally, not EVERY Pokémon can become a Toy Pokémon - it would simply be absurd to expect so huge a project of the PokéHeroes spriters. (I know you guys are human!) As such, each Key affects a limited number of Pokémon to turn them into Toy Pokémon.
A list of keys is shown on the page linked above.
Perhaps each Key could correspond to a specific group of Pokémon (for example, the Hero Key might be usable on Pikachu and Ratatta, the starter Pokémon that have been used in the Pokémon Rumble games?).
Alternatively, there can only be one Wonder Key; it would, in fact, be a lot simpler that way. Either way, not every Pokémon should be available; there should only be a select few. Which Pokémon, exactly, can be decided by Riako or the spriters - they can even be added periodically like Plushies. ^^
Since the Wonder Key would be an evolution item, it would be easy to just have a list of Toy Pokémon that are available - evolution items already list what they can be used to evolve!
Wonder Keys should be collected through Rumble Missions (due to their obvious ties with Rumbling), or perhaps through special means like battling to get the Cool Key, doing a quest in the Ancient Cave for the Temple Key, and so on. I'm not going to be too specific on HOW to get them because, as described later, they do have some benefits of their own, and I think Riako should be the one to decide how hard they are to get, in order to balance that out.

As an alternative to the Wonder Key, Pokémon Rumble World features PokéDiamonds, an in-game currency that can be found in various places in the game. These could potentially be found very rarely in Rumble missions (which are based on the Pokémon Rumble series in the first place - it's only natural that they should be involved in the attainment of Toy Pokémon!), and, because they are a currency rather than an item, could be spent in varying quantities according to the value of the Toy Pokémon instead of simply using a rarer key for a rarer Pokémon. If you take this route, PokéDiamonds can be spent either in a new part of Emera Mall (a "Toy Shop," perhaps?) or on the Rumbling page itself, because, as mentioned, Toy Pokémon have a slight effect on Rumbling themselves. Perhaps, in addition to being found via Rumble Missions, PokéDiamonds could be bought with Nuggets like how the official PokéDiamonds can be bought with real money.

As suggested by the user Blitzle, perhaps a Pokémon already in its Toy form be purchased to help start one's collection.

Toy Pokémon could either not count for the Pokédex, count as their base forms for the Pokédex, or have their own section like the Emera section. The Pokédex isn't the purpose of this suggestion, so how it is affected is up to Riako. ^^

Toy Pokémon, however, are from the Rumble series - so, naturally, they should have some effect on Rumbling! I don't want this to be rejected solely for making it too easy, so I don't think they should be overpowered or anything, but perhaps they could collect SLIGHTLY more items and/or SLIGHTLY more Pokédollar while Rumbling? Remember, of course, that in order to get them, you have to Rumble to begin with - so you're already doing well enough that you can acquire them, the boosts they provide would hardly make a difference, keeping them from being too overpowered. ^^

An example Toy Pokémon sprite is below:

This is moderately accurate while still remaining close to the correct number of shades for an official Pokémon sprite; however, if there are any concerns, I would be happy to create any example sprites in a different style. Since there would obviously be a lot of work involved in creating a whole new style of Pokémon sprite just for this, I would be willing to (try to) make the needed sprite work myself, but I also think that the spriters would be able to do an excellent job of it (probably better than me! XD) and will definitely be happy to see how they execute it instead. ^^

For comparison, here is an actual Toy Pokémon sprite, cut directly from a game screenshot:

In summation, notable differences between Toy Pokémon and normal Pokémon for the purposes of sprites are:

• Different proportions (Serebii has a compilation of screenshots from the official games to use as a reference for the proportions)
• Slightly more jagged-edged and polygonal
• Shading is used normally, but outline is exclusively for the edges - there is no lineart inside the body

It was discussed in this thread that Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion should be made available through Rumbling, and I initially posted my support of said idea; however, because users have been asked not to suggest new ways to get Pokémon in the frequently-quoted statement by Riako, I will no longer include that in this suggestion.

So... What do you guys think? Support? Questions? Comments? Criticisms? Hopefully, with enough support, we can bring Toy Pokémon to PokéHeroes!!

(TL;DR: "Add an item to turn Pokémon into cute wind-up toys that do well in Rumbling!" //shot)

Well, if one of the keys was obtained when you hatched Golett, everyone would be scrambling to get the eggs. I think that maybe when the battling feature gets installed, maybe there could also be events, like meeting Golett, and you have to solve a puzzle, or something.

i've never played pokemon rumble, but if the place is named temple of key, maybe there could be a temple like you said on the site, run by a golett that makes you solve a puzzle, like death suggested?

and to keep the puzzle solution from being common knowledge, it could be a different problem with a different solution, not sure how that would work but hey, suggestions haha

@Death: I do agree that people would be scrambling to get Golett eggs. I think you're right that there should be an event with having Golett and a puzzle.

@AutumnStar: Having a separate page for the Temple of Keys is actually a good idea! Also, I like your suggestion of having the puzzle be a different problem for each person.

@Umbreon: The copyright is still with Nintendo, since Pokémon Rumble Blast was on the Nintendo 3DS. So, no - if this site is legal (which it is), so is the addition of Toy Pokémon. Heck, we already have Rumbling! All that's being added are Toy Pokémon and Wonder Keys, which fall under that category anyway. I said nothing about adding a Battle Royale - I said that it would be related to the battling in Rumbling, because in the actual games there's a Battle Royale. Also, how is it a "slap to the face?" I don't see how having not played Rumble Blast makes it any harder, since it was just a basic addition of a possible way to get keys, and even then it's just a tiny hint, considering the fact that the method is being changed in this site anyway (assuming that this is added in the first place).

i support the idea, altho it will take a lot of spriting to do the spries for the toy pokemon.. also i think the keys should be gotten in a way that every user has a chance to get one if lucky ( not only on events)

Shiny Toy Pokémon exist in Rumble and Rumble U, but not Rumble Blast.
Having Rusty Pokémon instead of Shinies is an AMAZING idea! I will add it to the first post! (Even if not in the same way as a Shiny, getting Rusty Pokémon would be so cool!)

Thank you for your support, guys!

(They would not be obtained in events in the same way as, say, a Groomicott. That was just a poor choice of words on my part. Also, as I said, I would be happy to do all of the needed sprites if it is too much work for the staff!)

Thank you for your support, Princess! ^^

Toy Pokémon are wind-up toys, so they can rust, either randomly or when coming into contact with Dark Rust. They are surrounded by a dark, reddish-purplish aura (sort of like Shadow Pokémon) and are only capable of using the move Struggle until purified with Glowdrops. You can read a bit more detail here.

Edit: Also, only the ones rusted by Dark Rust have the aura, but there would be no difference on PH if we didn't include that, so we should use it for all Rusty Pokémon if it is included.

Hmm, I think this definitely needs some tweaking.

I think certain Pokemon should be able to become toys, not all 700+. If that many were able to be toys, the keys would have to be pretty common.

Now, I'm curious. Why toys? Why not PMD sprites, Pokemon Ranger sprites, or even older gen sprites?

1) As I said in the first post, not every Pokémon would have a Toy Pokémon form. Only those that are significant to the plot of the games in some way would.
2) Toy Pokémon actually have different appearances from normal Pokémon. In comparison, PMD Pokémon and Ranger Pokémon, as seen on the official art and box art of the games, are perfectly normal Pokémon that simply have a different style, like retro sprites (which we do have, and so there was no need to have a suggestion about that).

Ok, I support this. Thanks for clearing it all up for me.
