Third Person POV

The smile vanished off the Chingling's face. "Kelpsy berries are stupid," they informed him. "And so's the Minccino." They crossed their nubblies, pouting. "You can save everyone with your dumb berries and I'll save the pecha berries for me."

Then they were smiling again. "That sounds good, right? Really good?"

"Berries?" The Herdier blinked at them all from his position by the Glameow.

"I'll introduce myself first," the Glameow said. He beamed at them all. "I'm Luther! A Glameow. What're you all? I'm not good with PokeNames." He laughed.

The Chingling fluttered up. "I'm Seara!" they piped. "Chingling!"

The Minccino had vanished.

Ouch... Gotta be more careful. You don't know anyone yet! Trust no one.
Artemis gained some EXP!
Artemis barely mustered a chirp "Artemis," before shuffling towards the Mew with his head down. He accidentally kicked a small rock and squawked in pain.

The Zangoose would have responded...if multiple different pokemon didn't suddenly just jump into the conversation. At a loss for words, and out of the fact it had gotten too loud for his liking, he turned and walked away from the group. He let out a light sigh as he walked away. Perhaps that was why he grown up with a preference to being alone. Conversations were not easy to manage in his own opinion.

At last Meka seemed to snap out of her trance, looking around at the other Pokémon who had now had the time to fully realize where they were. Realizing how close to the ground she was floating, she rose up, and cleared her throat to get everyone's attention. "Ahem! Alright, so I think I have a better idea as to where we are. You are all aware of the situation, yes? We are on what the humans call 'Route 1', also known as the beginner's route. None of the Pokémon here should give you trouble, so we have a chance to plan among ourselves. I have spent the last few moments working out the layout of the town ahead, If you have any questions, or tried to ask me before and didn't get a response, feel free to ask them now, I am all ears!" ...Oh gosh ew...her tone sounded way too serious there. The last think she needed was to get the reputation comparable to that of Mewtwo to these pokemon. No, wait, that couldn't be right. There was absolutely no way that her high-pitxhed voice could ever sound like Mewtwo...look at her, a mythical pokemon, having a crisis over something like this? She shook her head. Surely they wouldn't judge her this one moment.

Breeze's head shot up from the ground as the Mew finally spoke once more. Great! Finally a chance to figure out just why they were here. Breeze herself wasn't necessarily close to any of the pokemon in her own forest. Her parents and siblings visited her little corner every-so-often, but nothing to make her very quickly notice their disappearance...and that realization sent a chill down her spine. What if they had been taken and she had no way of knowing? Would the Legendaries here know anything? She supposed not...but then again, they were legendary after all. Her ears lowered nervously, and her face took on a slightly redish tone. She didn't want to ask stupid questions...

Hearing what the Mew said and seeing the hesitation of the others, Eris decided to make the first move. She floated a bit closer and spoke, "I think we all know the situation has gotten dire, but why save us? What's a ragtag group of Pokemon like us going to be able to do against this problem?" She understood that some would ask about their families, but not her. The Legendary Pokemon worked in mysterious ways, but there had to be a reason they specifically were saved and not others. What made them worth saving?

As the first Pokémon asked their question, the Mew looked thoughtful for a moment. She hadn't necessarily 'saved' these Pokémon. They were still at risk of capture just as they were when they were at their homes, though she saw no use in saying that directly. She also hadn't chosen them for any particular reason, either. Mew had an innate ability to sense the 'pure of heart', most of her thought process with her choosing of these Pokémon was just 'they are the least terrible looking one, so we'll just yoink them'. To be fair, this was mostly just a desperate rush to get some help, as her legendary help was rapidly vanishing. The only few who had managed to escape were quite small and powerless alone for the most part. She thought over her words...okay, mystical magical legendary, go! "We saved you because of the potential we saw in you. However much you may not believe it, every single one of you here has given us a reason to believe you are worthy of this task. Whether it be with pure strength, cunning, or deceit, each of you has something to offer for our purposes. You aren't 'more worthy' of being saved than any other, you were just the most likely to be of the benefit of the rest of your communities, and your legendaries, too."

Sunny quietly nibbled an Oran berry (oh look she's branching out and... don't ask) listening intently to what Meka said. Hm. Deceit... a word she certainly had a lot of experience with. She shuddered, quickly turning her thoughts to other things

Saved? Chosen? What the hell was going on here? Maeshi didn't understand any of it, especially the part about why this strange mew 'chose' them for something. What was so special about him? He was just a lazy, worthless bum who sat in the woods all day, what attributes did he even have? If he didn't even know that much about himself, how could this mew know anything? Well, to be fair, she was a legendary being after all, and he was just a possessed puppet. Also, what about the legendaries? He didn't know much about them, or even knew some of them existed, but he at least knew they were important and powerful beings, ones that could cause mass destruction or immense growth and life. If they were missing, like this mew made it seem, what could that mean for him? For everyone? He sat up straight, his head barely poking above the tall grass he was in, and squinted his eyes. The red glow coming from them stood out among the dim forest, mostly quiet as can be. The banette let out a sigh and looked around at everyone else, thinking back to the 'being chosen' part from before. Every single pokemon here had something that could help this mew, even if it was quite unlikely... He noticed a nidoran, munching on some berries, a quiet, odd colored zangoose sitting back, just like him, and many more that were doing their thing. He didn't exactly have faith in himself or the group, but it wasn't like he could back out now.

Maggie sneezed as the wind picked up, blowing a cloud of dandelion seeds in her face. Chosen? Skills? She'd be the first person to admit that her head was often too high up in the clouds, but it sounded just too good to be true Then again, so did being summoned by a Mew of all things...

The speech faded into the background as Maggie looked around. She noticed a conflicted looking Banette near the back, looking around like she was. Maggie flicked an ear in greeting when he spared her a glance, and... Oh! There was a friendly looking Nidoran over there who had some berries! Maybe later, she'd go and see if she was offering any. The chingling nearby looked nice as well... actually, everyone looked decently amicable, or at least not rude. Maggie turned her attention back to what was going on in the front as a weirdly-colored Froslass floated up and asked the Mew a question.

The Froslass made a good point, actually. Maggie had been wondering that herself. She pawed at the ground with a hoof, nervous from the tension as all the pokemon waited for an answer

Artemis limped towards the Mew a little. "Speaking of legendaries, do you know which ones survived if any? I mean, obviously you're right here... and so is that Hoopa... but is that it? I mean, we aren't exactly the... uh... best-equipped team for fighting all sorts of evil..."
I wonder if anyone is willing to share some Oran Berries... No. Probably not. I'll just have to deal with it.

"Survived?" The Mew looked alarmed for a second. "No, no! Everyone survived, they were just captured." She corrected the little bird right away. To think that the great legendaries had simply been killed my mere humans! What an idea! Humans were smart, sure, but the mass genocide of literal gods would be simply unfathomable in this short timeframe especially considering Meka's own suspicions on Celestial's motives. "But yes, we are the only ones that we know of that managed to escape. That doesn't mean that others won't come to us later. However, my telekinetic powers aren't really focused on them at the present moment. Rather, trying to figure out our next move...our next clue.

Banshee

The Mismagius just listened to the Mew. Chosen? There were way better candidates in her community, so she didn't believe the chosen bit. To her it felt like the Mew picked the first Mismagius they saw, and it just so happened to be her.

Trixie

Trixie looked down in sadness as the Mew mentioned the captured legendaries. The other legendaries were fun to be around with, and to see them gone was enough to make her sad.

Maggie took a step forward and cleared her throat. "That sounds really cool and everything, but how did they get taken though? I mean, that's all the most powerful Pokemon in the world, right?"

After all, how did a Mudbray like herself escape the Celestials if the legendaries couldn't?

The more Dart listened, the more confused he got. Saved? Chosen? He hadn't much of an altruistic drive in his body; considering he mostly lived alone. And the fact he was chosen was even mire perplexing. He stuck out like a sore thumb in comparison to other Zangoose's, and he wasn't exactly tough either. He was, however, interested to see where this would lead. It really did seem like his life, and the others here, were now on by a single thread on a balance. One misstep, and things could turn disastrous. He continued to listen to the others, and took a small twig with a leaf on it to chew on...ah. Perhaps he did have someone he could've called a 'friend'...he was a little worried for the young lad who taught him this. He also took out an Oran berry from a small pouch he fashioned. Which he carried mainly berries from his home.

Artemis eyed the Oran Berry in the Zangoose's paw. He remembered how he had tried to introduce himself before he was interrupted... maybe now would be the best time to make something resembling a friend while also restoring some of his recently lost HP. He mustered up all of his courage and limped towards the Zangoose.
"Uh... hi there. I mean, excuse me, but... uh... would you be willing to spare an Oran Berry for me? I... uh... hurt myself a little bit and an Oran Berry could help with restoring my HP... if you wouldn't mind, of course." He looked down towards his injured leg and looked back up at the Zangoose. They made eye contact for a second, and Artemis quickly looked down at the ground.

Perking up as the odd little bird pokemon showed off a bruised and battered limb, San bounded over to sniff at it curiously. It didn't seem broken or anything, just a really uncomfortable injury but still he pouted up at Artemis, sympathizing with the amount of pain the other must be feeling. "I don't have berries and I don't know if this helps but I'm going to try anyways!" He chirped, flouncing away with light footsteps. Circling around a few times, San finally stood up on his hind legs and concentrated, pulling the brightest colours towards himself. There was a green shimmer as Meka's Recover was used through Assist, healing the pokemon up to full health

Except that it only worked on San and not Artemis, leaving the skitty visibly dejected through downcast ears and a drooping tail. "Aww man, that did nothing... I'm sorry." He pouted, flopping down to mope despite the severity of this whole situation. It was as if he didn't even listen to a word that Meka had said or if he did, it didn't really register with him

Dart looked up at the Fletchling who was addressing him again. He paused for a second before he reached for the bag, and took a second Oran berry out of his bag before handing it off to the Fletchling. His expression was relatively neutral, he didn't seem too bothered by the request at all.

Adrik

"Captured?" Adrik's fur bristled along his back. Something inside him was screaming- begging for him to attack the Mew, to shut it up, to claw the lies from its throat. But the logical part knew that he was only hearing the truth. "All the vanished Pokemon? Everyone?"

In the side of his eye, he could see Kaden. His solemn eyes gazed right back. Adrik was hypnotized...

"Sure sounds like it." 'Luther''s tail lashed. "And we're supposed to save them?" His face was furrowed as he stared at the Mew. "We're the 'chosen ones?'"

Oh no.

Oh. No.

"I can't- I can't- I don't know what- I don't know how to-" Adri fumbled. His breathing was tight. He settled on nothing. This-

"Do we get berries?" Seara chirped up. "This sounds like a pretty cool adventure! But also risky. Don't you think we should be compensated?" They tilted their head to the side with a sweet ching. "Only fair, right?"

"I'll join," Luther declared.

"I can't," Adrik said quietly. "I just can't."

"Thank you so much!" Artemis munched on the berry happily.
Artemis' HP was restored!
Artemis will remember this.
Artemis' trust towards Dart grew!
Artemis looked towards the Mew and the other panicking Pokemon. "I'm in." Artemis said, in an unusual surge of confidence. "I'll be evolving into a Fletchinder soon, and then maybe I'll be able to hold my own. However, until then I'll need some sort of source of EXP. Does anyone know of a good EXP source nearby? Perhaps a berry tree or a bush somewhere?"

Luther

The Fletchling. He made a note on him. There was a certain vibe there that he didn't like. Something that made him feel condescended. An arrogant Pokemon was trancing all over him, and he was letting it. He ground his teeth together, then relaxed, turning to face the smaller Pokemon.

He smiled at him. "I'm certain you will. I'd appreciate it, quite a bit." He angled his head to the right. "It's a little dark there. Perhaps you'll find some unpicked bushes?"

"I don't want to be here..." The Herdier whispered.

It was starting to get on his nerves. Couldn't he have at least introduced himself? It was the polite thing to do. And then to go on whimpering and whining about their situation- not the signs of a mature Pokemon, that was for sure.

The Chingling pouted at being ignored. It tumbled down to the ground, folded its ribbons, and glared at the rest of them.
