Rise of a Warrior OLD
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Rise of a Warrior OLD"What are you doing!?" Sage yells from the wall above. She crosses her arms and gives Gwen a disappointed glare. "We've fought armies twice the size of this with fewer soldiers. There is no need to cower, we can take them!" Sage shouts. "This victory will be easy compared to our last battles. Take them out!" Sage orders.
Gwen gulps, she still looks worried, but Sage's words had a small impact on her. She nods at Sage, then heads back towards the approaching army. Her horse breaks away from the line, moving faster than the other soldier's horses. Her eyes sharpen as she tries to calculate their next move. She holds out her sword in front of her, figuring their best chance of success would be to cut down the first line of defense.
She rides up towards Gwen but stops her horse a few feet in front of hers. She glances at Gwen, then lifts up her eyes to look at Sage and Tani, then she returns her gaze to Gwen. "Sh*t," she says with a chuckle. "You scared the living daylights out of us." She lifts up her chin proudly and narrows her eyes at Gwen. "What are you? A soldier? Or a sorry excuse of a general? You're trembling before me you know?" She returns her gaze to Sage and Tani, a small smile creeping across her face. "I'm assuming one of those two ladies is your leader. Excuse me, but I require a word with them." The woman passes by Gwen, who watches her pass by with a bewildered expression. The woman's army follows. None of them make a move for their swords. Compared to the Telmarian army, this army seems to be far more confident and professonal.
Luke had heard the loud horn. He started running down the roads and to where he heard the hooves. Once he got close he slowed down, trying to listen in on what was happening. He hadn’t heard much yet, and was interested to learn more.

But it doesn't take long for Irida to grow impatient. "As much as I love a good reunion, we have things to do. Right ladies?" Irida rather rudely reminds the two. "Tell me Tani, are you the leader of these people? If not, I would like to be taken to him or her. We have important matters to discuss." She glances at the citizens, then behind her, where Gwen's army was ever so carefully boxing her army in. "...In private" she clarifies.
*Maddy sat in the room, waiting for Leaf's return. She thought she heard footsteps behind her but when she looked back, nothing was there. But then she began to hear them again and saw nothing when she looked to see what was causing them. She drew her knife and began to speak.* Whoever you are, you better come out now!

"You won't have to worry about us being a threat if you are wise enough to watch your tone when addressing us" Gwen snaps as she rides forward to join the group. "You can consider yourself to be a visitor for now... but don't make me change my mind, you can become a prisoner real quick." Gwen's attempt to intimate Irida makes Irida snort in a fit of laughter. Gwen opens her mouth to speak, but Sage cuts in.
"Of course they can join us. Tani? Would you mind leading the way?" Sage asks while throwing a glare at Gwen. Don't provoke her Sage mouths to Gwen.
"Keep an eye on them" Gwen whispers to her commanders. She glances at Eric, who happened to be close by. "You," she says while pointing to Eric, "would you mind standing guard by the door?"

Rose glances around at the scenery as they follow Tani to the city capitol. She hardly recognizes the place that was once her home. It feels odd to be back, after spending so many years alone with Freya living in the woods. She lets out a sigh, getting a worried glance from Freya. Rose bits back a smile. She shifts her shoulders, the bow string biting into her back. Rose hadn't lost herself in a while, but something told her if it's going to happen, if she's going to have a breakdown, today's the day.

Luke decides that he should visit Sage. He knocks on the door, well knowing there were soldiers nearby. He waits for an answer. He doesn’t think anyone is going to be right next to him, so he just waits for someone to answer.

"My name is Irida Mannering, I am the high commander of the Priatorian Order and warden of the seaside kingdom of Kestrian. For the last 20 years now, my nation has been at war with one of your enemies from the Iron Mountains" She pauses to glance sideways at their faces. She notices sudden alertness on Gwen's face in particular. "My scouts have informed me that a huge division of their army is marching towards this kingdom as we speak. I'm certain that it'll be enough to easily wipe all you out"
This sets Gwen off. She can no longer stay silent. "So what? Did you really decide to come here with a puny army of your own? One that even we could defeat? Yet you come here to underestimate our strength." Gwen snorts. "Thanks for the tip, but what would you know?"
"I have a proposal for you" Irida continues, she ignores Gwen's comments, which only makes Gwen bristle even more. "My proposal for you is that we escort you and your people to Kestrian and in return, you assist us in our fight again these so-called "Cloaks" as Rose has so frequently called them." She smiles at Tani and Sage. "You have nothing to lose in this. Not only will your kingdom not be destroyed by the Cloaks, but you'll also have a chance in fighting back."
"And if we refuse?" Gwen questions.
"Then I wish your kingdom luck, you'll need it if you think you can stop an invasion of that size alone." Irida doesn't try to hide the frustration in her voice. "But the choice isn't up to you general, the choice is up to them" Irida reminds Gwen, gesturing to both Tani and Sage.
