*Tani thought to herself for a moment. She remembered how in the first battle Telmar only won because Maddy slayed Talla. But now, with Maddy in no condition to fight... Tani looked up at Irida* How long do we have?

"Not long" Irida admits. "The army is moving rather quickly..." She raises a hand to her face and taps her chin thoughtfully. "I'd say... maybe three days." Her eyes suddenly soften. "I know it's not ideal and I'm sorry about that. If you need some time to discuss this, I can step out. But I would recommend making a decision quickly."

Barry, who still had his ear leaning on the wall of the building outside, was very shocked to hear this news. He saw a window nearby and decided maybe he could get a look in without being spotted. He looked through the window, trying to see what was happening.

Luke was waiting patiently at the door in front of Sage’s house. He seemed interested in all of the commotion that was going on, and he didn’t exactly know what it was yet. He knew Sage would probably know what these other people were doing here.

*Maddy heard a knock on the door an wheeled to it. As she opened the door, she readied her knife just in case. She opened it slowly but saw Luke and slowly put it back* Hello Luke

*Tani thought for a moment and looked over to Sage, who nodded her head. Tani then looked back to Irida and spoke* We need a moment alone to converse

“Hi Maddy. How you been holding up?” he asked. He had a smile on his face. He was a bit taller than he was 2 years ago at the battle where he became blind. He reached for the edge of the doorframe to know where the door was. He really didn’t like being blind, but he worked with what he had, and he tried to make his life as best as it could be with it.

Barry was still peering through the window outside of the house, watching Sage and the others talk to the strangers. He thought that Tani had said that they needed a minute to decide something, but what? He hadn’t gotten the full conversation, so he kept listening.

"Of course" Irida responds as she bows her head respectfully. "Take all the time that you need" her tone was slightly sarcastic. At the very least, Irida managed to keep her face sincere. She nods at Rose and Freya, silently commanding them to follow her. She steps outside and leans against the wall on the opposite side of Eric, she nods in greeting at the boy.

When all three of them are gone they finally speak. Gwen is the first to talk.
"I don't like her. Let me make that clear. But I hate to admit it. If the Cloaks are really moving towards us, then we would have to leave" she pauses, as if debating whenever or not to say something. "We aren't ready for a fight and it's all my fault" she finally admits. Saying that out loud causes Gwen to feel a pang of guilt, but she had to admit, it was also a bit liberating.

"There'll be time to pity yourself later" Sage responds. "It's been awhile since we've made an alliance with another kingdom. This could be good for us. Like she said- we really have nothing to lose in all of this. If we stay behind and she's right, we get destroyed, if she's wrong, nothing changes. Now if we agree to go with her, then we could risk being captured. But if we have to fight our way out, then it would be nothing new to us. I say we take the risk in trusting her. What do you think Tani?" Sage asks.

*Maddy grabbed Luke's hand and led him into the house. She then began to speak* I'm hanging in there. *Maddy led him to the dining room, where she sat him down and grabbed some smoked sausage* How about you? Oh, by the way, do you want anything? Something to eat or drink?

*Tani silently thought to herself. Sage was right. The risks were too great not to be considered. But then again.... Tani looked at them and spoke* Bring them back in. *Tani looked at Gwen* Inform the army to begin a mass evacuation. But dont start a panic.

“I’m doing ok I guess. And I’ll have some water, thanks.” he said. He puts his elbow on the table and puts his head on his hand and sighs. Water would be good for him right now.

Barry, who has now heard this news, ran from the window and just stood waiting for everyone to come out of the building. He knew they were going to come out at some point, so he decided to wait for them.

*Maddy went over to the water bucket and grabbed a cup. She used the ladel in it to scope the water into the cup and finally wheeled back to Luke. She placed the cup next to his hand and moved his hand to grip it. They then sat in silence for several moments until Maddy broke the silence* How's Tani?

Gwen nods. "Will do" she tells Tani. She stands up and walks towards the door where she signals for the three to enter in the room again. Her body is half blocking the doorway, but she doesn't move aside for Irida, who stares Gwen down as she passes by. Oddly enough, there seems to be a flicker of pity in her gaze. What's that about? Gwen wonders as she steps outside and walks over to her army. She puts aside her confused thoughts and focuses on the task on hand. They had to be ready to leave as soon as possible.

"So?" Irida asks once Gwen leaves. "What did you gals decide?"

"We are going to take you up on your offer" Sage answers after exchanging a look with Tani.

"Excellent! Do you two have any questions about how this will go?" Irida asks. She walks over to the table and finally sits down, although she doesn't allow herself to relax into the chair.

Luke takes a sip of the water. “She’s doing better than I am. I think she misses you though, after coming to live with me .” he said. He tried looking in the general direction of Maddy but looked a bit to the right of her as he drank another sip of water.

Luke says, “Yes she has actually. She was frustrated about that fight you had the other day, but she has also said nice things about you, and how she wants you to get better.” Luke smiles at Maddy, then takes a sip of water. He’a glad to get a quiet moment of just conversation with someone without something big and crazy happening.

Barry has given up on the door, knowing it most likely won’t open yet and just goes back to the window and starts looking into the room from there again.

She beganto relive memories of the fight and her eyes started to turn black with her anger* Tani just doesn't get it. *Maddy's voice began to break as she spoke* She doesn't get what kind of pain I've had to deal with. What kind of - *Maddy held her hands up as if to over exaggerate her words. She then hit the table in anger* freaking tormented I've had to cope with over the last 2 years. *Maddy's eyes turned black and she began to yell* NO ONE DOES! *Out of anger Maddy threw a nearby plate at the wall, visibly startling Luke*

Having lost track of the group she decided to head back to Maddy to resume her exercises. When she finally arrived, she was greeted by a plate flying just inches past her face and into the wall, where it bounced off the wall and landed at her feet. Giving Luke a small nod of acknowledgment for the moment, she carefully put herself between Luke and Maddy. "Maddy? Maddy what's wrong? Please talk to me."

Luke was visible surprised when the plate went flying across the room. He was also the smallest bit surprised that Leaf had suddenly appeared. He decided to maybe let Leaf sort this out with Maddy. He did stay at the tabke though, still wanting to be there when Maddy calmed down.

*Maddy watched as the plate almost hit Leaf and slowly, her eyes became less black. Maddy's eyes began to tear up and she covered her mouth with her hand. She began to speak through her hand but between her speech being muffled by her hand and emotions, Leaf and Luke could barely hear her.* I'm so sorry! It's not you guys its me!

Going into full Momma mode, Leaf very slowly embraced Maddy to give her time to pull away if she wanted. When Maddy instead hugged her back and broke down full sobbing, Leaf gently consoled the distressed woman with soothing words and rubbing the small of her back.

Luke didn’t really know what to do at this point. He feels as though he should hug Maddy, but Leaf was hugging her already and he thought it would be weird if he did. He didn’t know how to handle these things! He walks towards Maddy and tries giving a hug but then gives up because he couldn’t see where she was at. He lets her take her time.

She leans back in her chair now and rests her legs on top of the table. She doesn't appear to be fazed by any of this. "Our army has a few extra food and water rations, while we'd rather save it for an emergency, your people can use it if necessary. We would also be willing to allow citizens who don't have horses to ride with us" Irida offers
