At first, the walking had been therapeutic for Xaiver. But he was only human and it was starting to drain on him. Not wanting to complain, he had stayed silent. He was grateful to hear of a place to rest, but the idea of hidden weapons made him nervous. Still, he wasn't afraid. So, he nodded. "Got it," he said, surprising himself with how hoarse it sounded from lack of use.

*Lucy nodded and turned to walk off the highway and into the city. Within minutes, the whole group was drenched by the storm. Lucy held her rifle in hand as she ran from building to building, watching for sniper glares in the process. She would then wave on the group as soon as she felt it was safe for them to cross. But she knew it would only get more difficult as they got closer to the lodging as it was flanked by the towns possible sniper nests. As she crossed the street, she heard a building or something in the nearby distant collapse, and watched a cloud of blood form from Faith's shoulder as she fell to the ground. Lucy ducked behind a car and yelled at the others* GET DOWN!! *After a few seconds, Lucy yelled towards them again* Did anyone see where the shot came from- *The sniper shot once again but the bullet hit the car Lucy was behind*

Things registered quickly, like flashes, in Xavier's mind. First, the sound of the building collapsing made him jump. Then, seeing Faith fall. He immeadiently ducked down behind a car, his eyes wide and breathing heavy. That...just happened. As he heard Lucy's shout, the bang of the bullet made his heart skip a beat. His eyes flicked around, looking for where that sniper could be. He wanted to know if Lucy was okay, but how could he do that without risking getting shot himself? He stared at the ruined wall inches from his face. This was most certainly bad.

Faith dropped like a brick when she got shot, holding her wounded shoulder with her free hand. Faith hissed inaudible curses between clenched teeth to keep from screaming. Salvadore carefully scooted towards Faith then held her in an upright position, pressing his own hand against hers to slow the blood. A good look showed that the bullet had deeply lodged itself into Faith's shoulder.

Hope toppled out of her mother's arms when Faith dropped. "Mom!" Hope sat on her knees in front of her parents, eyes widening at the blood. "Mom are you okay?"

*Lucy looked towards Faith, who was across the way* Did you see where the shot came from? *Faith shook her head and cursed before she took the butt of her rifle and broke off her cars side mirror. She slowly stuck the mirror out and aimed it in various directions to see if she could spot a scope. But right as she thought she saw it, a bullet flew threw the mirror and Lucy dropped it to move her arm back in. She looked around at her surroundings to see if she could find cover closer to where the sniper was but saw none. She then slowly made her way backwards towards the building next to them and busted into it. She turned to look towards the group* Stay here! *She ran up into the building and made her way up the stair, being weary of booby traps that may have been placed throughout the building. And as she got closer to the windows, a single shot pierced one of the windows near Lucy. The sniper knew where she was*

Coraline and Hope watched as Lucy suddenly sped off towards the danger then looked at each other and gave a nod. Both tailed after Lucy taking care to avoid being spotted, Hope using "natural camouflage" to blend in and Coraline in her squid form to slowly scoot around without being noticed. Rather than heading to the same location as Lucy (who the sniper was busy with), they headed upward until they were above him.

Coraline had been slowly leaving behind a trail of Cyan and once her small tanks' meter beeped at her she grinned and swapped her spalt duties in exchange for her special. Hope saddled Coraline on her shoulders and when Coraline gave a small kick to Hope, Hope jumped and pushed Coraline up as much as she could. Coraline super jumped off of Hope's shoulders with her tenta missiles loaded. "WOOMY!" They locked onto the sniper and fired jets of cyan ink at him knocking him down and hopefully giving Lucy time to get to him. "Squi-wi-wi-dee!" Coraline stuck out her cyan tongue at him as Hope pulled Coraline behind cover.

*Lucy stood up and looked down at Hope and Coraline and shouted at them* GET OUT OF THERE!! *Lucy aimed her gun towards the other building and began firing at the sniper, who in turn fired back. But then the sniper slipped and fell to the ground. Lucy aimed toward his head, but when she pulled the trigger, nothing. She was out and froze as she saw the sniper stand up and aim at her. She could feel death was about to knock on her door, but just before the sniper fired, Faith blindly sent a blast hurling towards him, igniting the floor he was on and burning the sniper to a crisp.*

When Lucy got back to Faith she was resting against the car in clear extreme pain of the wound. Salvadore was still holding the wound and looked up to find Hope and Coraline slowly sulk over to where he was. "And where did you two go?"

"Helped. . .?" Hope half responded half asked.

Salvadore sighed. "Stay here, both of you."

"Are we in trouble?" Coraline asked.

"I haven't decided yet."

*Lucy began to breath heavily. As she stood there, many moments from her life flashed before her eyes. Her 4th birthday. Her parents taking her to Disneyworld. The day her parents died. All of them flashed before her eyes. She slowly walked out of the building and back outside and heard Faith's painfueled screams. Lucy immediately put her gun over her shoulder and rushed over to Faith, who's clothes and arm were bloody. But that wasn't all. Lucy could see the small area where the bullet had hit was turning a blackish purple color* Jesus Christ Faith! *Lucy looked around frantically* We need a medic!

Faith glared at Lucy in pain. "Sorry I got shot, but it's not like I saw it coming!"

"Faith please, just calm down," Salvadore begged trying to de-escalate the situation. "You need to relax, getting all riled up isn't going to help anything."

Back at Benton's base, Ripley was curled up in Lucky's arms as the latter could only watch Ripley's health worsen.

Kenji peered over Lucy's Shoulder and said, " Ooooh. That's a bad wound. Sniper shot I'm guessing?" Kenji stood up straight and started to move towards an alley to their right. " Pick your friend up and follow me. We don't have much time before the sickness sets in." Kenji said as He walked straight through a wall in the alley. The wall had a large black circle in it with weird black smoke drafting from it.

*Lucy whirled around with her handgun at the ready, but Kenji disappeared before she could get a good look. She thought to herself for a moment but then hesitantly decided what they had to do. Lucy kept her gun at the ready just in case, but put her free arm under Faith's arm and looked towards Sal.* Help me lift her Sal!

*Ripleys wings had begun to discolor as time went on. She couldn't even feel them. But then the door to their cell opened up and a guard squad walked in along with a doctor.* Prop her up against the wall *The guards nodded and grabbed Ripley to pit her up to the wall. The doctor then knelt down and opened a box of medicine. He fumbled through it for a few seconds before he found a disposable spoon and the bottle he was looking for. He opened the bottle and poured its black syrupy substance onto the bottle before opening Ripley's mouth and placing it in. He held the spoon in her mouth for a few seconds before he slowly took it out. He put the spoon in a disposable bag and closed up his kit before leaving the room with the guards in tow*

Kenji head popped out of the ominous hole in the wall and said, " Hurry it up. I've set up the medical supplies. I'm just waiting for you guys." He went back through the the hole and put a blanket on the floor and a pillow for Faith to lay her head on. Once He was done with that, He went back out to help them move her.

Xaiver didn't know Faith that well, much less Lucy or any of the others. But he was concerned and a little panicked when he teleported from behind the car and saw what was going on. As usual, the little voices in his head went to work. Should he try to help? But how? What could he do? He stepped around the car, walking forward a little. He was careful to keep out of the way, but wanted to be avaliable if he was needed.

Salvadore nodded and helped Lucy lift Faith up, and Faith did her best to make it easier on them by both being an easy passenger and helped them get her over to where ever it was they needed to go.

Lucky looked at Ripley. "Do you feel any better?"

Raelyn looked on as Lucy and Salvadore helped Faith, before turning her gaze to the young squidling, and Hope. She smiled fondly at them, before sending Kyra (her shadow wolf) to check for any injuries they may have sustained. They reminded her of her and her now dead sister when they were younger. Always getting into trouble by not doing as told, and being notorious for rule breaking.

Kenji took them through the wall and helped them lay faith down on the little "bed" he made. He looked at the spot where she got shot to see if he could see the bullet. Unfortunately, the wound was swollen so it almost covered the bullet completely. " Don't disturb me while I do this." Kenji said, " The fact she is probably gonna scream in pain will be enough." Kenji grabbed a tweezers and started to pull the bullet out of her arm.

At the pulling, Faith grit her teeth to keep from screaming. Salvadore looked visibly concerned as he gave her some balled-up cloth to have her chomp her teeth on to keep from breaking them, to which Faith took greatfully. "Can't you give her some pain killer?"

Coraline and Lucy both watched as the wolf slowly approached them. "Squoo-by?" Coraline reached a hand out towards the wolf hesitantly.

*Ripley coughed a few more time before nodding her head. Meanwhile, on the other side of the base, the doctor walked into the lab and handed Benton Ripley's spoon. He grabbed it and placed it under a microscope where he examined it.* Interesting... *Without diverting his attention from the microscope, he put a red solution on it and watched as it slowly disappeared. He looked up and turned towards the doctor* Keep her on this regiment for a few more days. I want her kept alive, understood? *The doctor nodded and Benton turned to his intercom.* Agent 8, make your way to the training room immediately.
