The Kingdom of Thorned-Flowers is a large Kingdom of magic and tall, stone castles that stretch towards the sky and powerful Mages which defend the city from the dark creatures of the night, known as Coallings. However, they have only been defending the kingdom for seven-hundred years. A Coalling made it’s way to the King and Queen’s quarters and cursed them both to die in seven days. Knowing their days were limited, they set up a tournament of nine people to fight for the throne. The night before the tournament began, seven of the contestants were found dead and two were missing. The Kingdom grieved greatly for them, while search parties were sent to look for the missing ones. The day after the King and Queen passed away, one of them returned. She was named Queen Tsarleen of Roses, and the other missing person was never found.

Present day, the Queen is still alive due to her magic. You live in the outskirts of the city, training to be a Mage to defend the Kingdom in the Crimson-Thorns School. A group of To-Be-Mages in your class are training in the Forest of Fragile Flowers when you find something you think you shouldn’t have found. A eerie alcove of dirt and rock, coated in a thick layer of moss and vines. You move the vines covering the front of the cave. A chill rolls up your spine and neck. The stink of dried blood and rotting flesh floods the air around you, goosebumps covering your arms and legs. A rotting corpse was slouched lazily in the back of the cave, it’s face frozen in a horrified, painful, stiff expression. A diagonal slash was across their body, black, dried blood covering their torn clothes, thread loose and laying on the cold ground. You turned to run and scream, but something caught your eye. A fragile, flakey page of paper was held in their hands, the corners dog-eared, torn and dark with age. The words on the page were clear.

Though, she prefers to be away from the company of other people and spend most of her time alone. She can get pretty stubborn and sometimes becomes very reckless in battles if she panics. But on the good side, she has a very strong hold and control of her powers.

Appearance: Merek has short blond hair and brown eyes. He isn't really that tall,he's just barely,if not barely below,average height.

Personality: Merek can get scared quite easily. Other than that,he's bright and mostly cheerful as well as extroverted.

Magic: Lightning

History: He wanted to be a knight as a child but due to his frail body his hoped and dreams were crushed. A couple years later he was struck by lightning and ever since,sparks were coming off of his fingers tips at will,which he thought was really cool and had a lot of fun slightly zapping others. All that resulted in him wanting to enroll to some sort of mave school and develop his strange ability.

Other:His hair is blond because of the lightning strike. His eyebrows are still his natural color (aka brown.) Also hmmm idk i kinda prefer crimson red c:

Name: Tirik "Smokescreen"

Appearance: Here, his scales are grey, his underbelly a light tan color. His eyes are strikingly green, and his wings are black as the night. His magic is a darker grey color than his scales.
Personality: Truly like a snake. If somebody even slightly annoys him, he strikes. He'll use his magic to disappear, slithering around his target, then either snapping their neck, or biting it. However, if you buy him a drink, he'll become rather jolly and friendly towards you. When he's drunk though, he's even worse, licking fights and usually winning them with lethality.

History: He's been a traveling mercenary for a long time, and has rarely, if ever, failed an assignment.

True Form: In her true form, she looks not unlike a black widow given spiky armor. Large, black horns surround the top of her abdomen and her eight legs for added protection. Various, scarlet runes cover her legs and surround the 'hourglass' shape on her back. She is about the size of a large dog within this form.
Personality: Rather abrasive honestly. Has a bit of a spoiled princess personality. Becomes somewhat obsessive of anyone or anything she deems 'under her care'.
Magic: Illusion Magic
History: Don't let her appearance- however beautiful or unnerving- fool you. For even this is just a trick of the eyes. She is, in truth, a species of sentient spider that lives deep within forests teeming with magic. Her kind typically trick prey into running into their webs with their illusions. As for why she is here, she grew curious of the school that lie near 'her domain', and had heard that other magics could be learned here. Using her illusions, she disguised herself as a human and enrolled.

Personality:
Though he may seem cold and uninterested, Ritsu is a playful and intelligent person at his core. Energy isn't something that comes naturally to him, and he is instead quietly passionate, and likes to tease others, enjoying their reactions. Ritsu can be blunt and harsh to a fault, but is very intuitive and often picks up on others' emotions. He regards psychoanalysis as a 'bad habit' of his, yet is very adept at it.

He has a very clear aversion towards sunlight and becomes more active and 'alive' at night, often sleeping the day away. He claims that the sun saps away his strength and that being a vampire means that the sun is his natural enemy. Although it is unclear if he is telling the truth or not, his skin is noticeably paler in the sunlight and he seems to grow weaker with every moment he spends awake during the day.

Personality Adelaide is a strong, cold, fierce, and highly disciplined killer and warrior; brutish is most definitely her middle name. She is quite able to hold her own in combat and politics, something she always seeks to use to her advantage. Adelaide tends to be on the more direct and frank side of things as well as impatience at times. Despite having only recently ascended to the crown, she has decades of knowledge under her belt; and she leads with cold political cunning and experience. Adelaide is a total wallflower, yet she has her assertive moments and this tends to get her to butt heads with people around her. A stone-cold killer on the outside, she’s blunt, calculating, vicious and ruthless in a fight with a primal urge for dominance; however, to the few people she trusts, they are under her protective wing forever, and she is loyal to her deathbed. Name: Elyon (El-ee-on) Ayelet

Age: 18
Species: Faun

Appearance:
Elyon is a faun: human from the waist up whilst her legs are those of a deer, covered in a smooth, almond pelt matching her short hair. Her feet are hooves, while her hands remain human. She also has a short tail and a pair of sharp antlers, which sprout flowers and clovers at the base during spring - it's painful for them to be plucked. This girl is also rather small, standing at just over 140cm tall (around 4'5), not much taller than the average deer.

Personality:
The petite faun has little physical strength and so relies on mainly her agility and ranged attacks when faced with danger. Although keen to learn, she is shy, demure and naturally wary around new people which hinders her ability to focus without worry. Calm environments and small groups work best to bring out her lazier, carefree side.

Magic:
Music; Elyon plays the pan flute and her music sheets translate into spells. It allows her moves to, generally, be unpredictable. However, as sound travels, and as long as those in range have the ability to hear, Elyon herself cannot control who is and isn't affected by her magic.

History:
At a young age, ever since the first blossoming of her clovers, the people of the small village she grew up in considered her a child of luck. Every new spring, it became almost ritual-like that people would come and hang offering of trinkets on her antlers, believing that it would also give them "luck". Naive, it made her happy that she could make others happy. However, as she got older, she grew more sceptical and self-conscious about the so-called ability of hers. After leaving the village a little later in life, Elyon was able to set aside that worry. Occasionally, she'll still wear similar trinkets as casual jewellery but greatly dislikes it when anyone she doesn't completely trust touches her antlers.

Her pan flute was handed down to her by her father, also a faun. It's her most treasured belonging. Her mother is a human mage.
