After she reached the store, she carefully walked in. Usually her friend did all the work going to the store, but she felt obliged to do it this week. The store seemed almost empty except for a few employees. She grabbed a basket and grabbed everything she needed, and a box of chocolates for her friend. Why? She had no clue, she just felt generous.
A punctual thump drew Kela's attention back to Roxy. The pink haired lad and her could talk more later. She gave a curt nod right back to Roxy, though she did not bother to offer anything back. Chances were, the don would be exactly the type for her to start fighting with.
She marked Roxy's sardonic tone, coldly pondering her words. As a point to be made, it did not come across as wise to share her own ulterior motives. "Motives are things that are released in time, are they not?" Kela asked calmly, eyeing the other members of the group as she spoke. "Best not to share something that can be so easily used against you."
Turning back to the conversation at hand, Queen fiddled with the collar if his undershirt, the skin tight fabric stretching under the attention. While he didn't exactly agree with Roxy's goals, he didn't dare voice that. He had friends and connections who didn't have any powers. They were wonderful people, extraordinary in their own right. They made their place in a society full of elemental superhumans and Queen definitely admired them for their tenacious strength. Although, now that he thought about it, sacrificing a few low level connections to curry favor with more powerful people didn't exactly sit well with Queen. His connections were more precious to Queen than anything else. Pushing his doubts and insecurities aside, his hands migrated from his collar to his hair, slender fingers sliding through coral hair. He didn't say anything, but simply hummed in agreement with Kela's statement
"I can clear almost anyone's name from almost any records." Queen smiled innocently, swinging his legs as if he was a child again. "Police records should be easy enough." He ducked his head right after his statement, flushing under the attention that he was suddenly given with his statement.
On a more positive thought, Alraune was looking at her with his keen eyes. His optics were vibrant, glowing the russet gold of fire in the forge. She did not allow herself to stare much longer; noticing his eyes already implied that she was paying a large amount of attention. He is quite the looker though. She mused silently to herself once she’d turned to pay attention to Roxy’s parting speech. Especially with that long pink hair...
When Queen innocently mentioned his ‘talent’ for clearing names off records, her eyebrows went up in surprise. She did not want to find out how he’d gotten that talent. Or why.
Kela leaned back in her chair as Roxy bid them farewell, tapping her index finger on the chair as she pondered her own approach to this. She often did rough work at the town hall—she’d deliberately signed up for as many jobs as her schedule would permit just so nobody would question her presence there. The white haired girl often did a lot of community chores—and on the way, caught the juiciest bits of gossip from the wealthier patrons. In large crowds, Kela blended in without much trouble. She was a background character.
Time to put it to use.
(Gonna make a form for Sabrina’s friend)
Roxy walked slowly through the night, almost daring someone to approach her. Her short size has always made people underestimate her true strength. She hears a sound at glances at a girl knocking on a door. Someone opens it and answers the door. Roxy pauses, wondering if they noticed her. She turns her head away from them and walks away. 'Hopefully they saw me' she thinks to herself. 'I want people to know that I am out and about'
Alliana followed Sabrina to the kitchen and stared in shock at the chocolates. “W-wow... I wasn’t expecting that.” She smiled as she grabbed the box. After sharing the chocolates at the small table next to the door, Alliana looked at her watch. “It’s getting late, we should probably head to bed.”
"Me too" Emerson replies which makes Louis jump in surprise.
"What are you doing here!?" He asks, holding a hand over his beating heart. She shrugs.
"I wanted to surprise you, I don't know, get up lazy bones, we have to hurry on over before the streets get busy" she moves downstairs to make some coffee and toast for herself. With a small eyeroll Louis quickly changes into more appropriate clothes and joins her downstairs. After a quick breakfast they walk over to the shop. Louis runs the register while Emerson stands next to him. She doesn't really need to work today, but she does anyway to keep him company.
"By the way- can you finish the paperwork for the new sheet metal tomorrow?" Louis asks. "It's over in the townhall" Emerson sighs, not enjoying that part of town. She reluctantly agrees anyway.
