its almost as if im not looking at the tab, but the actual website itself. not to mention, you can't always see tabs on mobile.

Not sure if you know but usually if there is a New Palpad message the PH Tab has [NEW] On it. doesn't always work but helpful

if you had read the thread, you would have seen where i said that [new] thing 1) isn't help for mobile users who don't ever see tabs unless they're changing them and 2) not everyone actally looks at their tabs on their computer unless they're actually changing the tab.

I really like this idea! I'm constantly missing the notifications for the palpad, which I use pretty often.
Not to mention I've seen a good amount of users requesting people to PM rather than palpad, because they don't notice the color change.
Full support! It won't hurt anyone, it'll just be similar to notifications and PMs.
Current projects: Collecting resources for the next shiny hunt. Please vote on what I should go for next!

Fully support! Even if it is just a little number. I've missed palpad messages for days because I didnt notice that the tiny little book is a shade brighter! Even the [new] thing isnt really all that noticable if you arent looking and I don't really want to go in and look all the time to see if I have something new. It might be a tiny thing of convenience but why not?

I support this...I've gotten a few messages on the Palpad and I never see it because I'm so focused on other things...It isn't a super vibrant "HEY YOU HAVE A MESSAGE" sort of color..It's just..slightly more noticeable lol.

Especially if you're like me and listen to music while on here, a little "ding" to throw off your music indicating you have a message would be nice to have. At least for me anyway with how ADD I am sometimes.

i see no problem with this, it took me two weeks to figure out i had gotten a notif from a palpad, maybe like global notifs, there would be a little number underneath the palpad icon to show how many messages were sent? it literally wouldn't hurt anybody! you have my support!

Neutral on this one since i dont think i need it.

But it could be implemented in a way we can turn it on/off (like other notifications)

So if its easy to include: Why not? There is no downside in my opinion.

On mobile, icons (well everything really) are super small in my opinion. And so when the palpad lights up or when chats have the "New" next it, it doesn't register until I look harder. A small number icon and colour contrast would help a lot.

The guy who was arguing against it brought up some admittedly good points, but with all these small quality of life updates this would be great, although I don’t need it. I don’t think numbers would really work here unless it’s the number of conversations you haven’t seen, I think a white dot would work just as well and that would probably be the better aesthetic choice. It’s going to help far more people than it hurts (aka none), and I think it wouldn’t be too hard to implement :P
