I don't like seeing trades made months or years ago. I just assume that person isn't very active anymore

I know this thread is pretty old by now, but given the recent incident with trade spammers (user(s) putting up trades with just one berry and putting a keysmash as the description or something like that), I want to give this topic a boost. I feel like we absolutely need a limit on trades so spamming just can't occur and it might be easier on the mods to manage these cases should they happen again. I think maybe 3 or 4 trades per user at a time could work (similar to auction house).

Another Way to Help Moderate this is to Limit How Often Someone Can Set up a Trade in GTS

like Once Per 1 Minute, Maybe 1/Half Minute

I feel like private trades don't need to be limited. If spamming occurs there, it'll be someone spamming just one user/only a few users and a report can be swiftly made in those cases.

Public spammed trades are blocking legit trade offers and are thus annoying for everyone. I think these do need to be limited, maybe to 3 or 5 per user at a time.

I agree that Private Trades should not be limited, since it does not actually clog the GTS. Private Trade SPAM can also be prevented by blocking said user, and there is also the option to decline Private Trades ("Not Interested" button).

I think that a total limit of 5 Public Trades is a bit too little.

Maybe a limit of 3-5, for duplicate Public Trades? And a limit of 15-20, for total Public Trades?

I also think there should maybe be a cooldown between posting trades.

Because in theory, say, the limit is 10. Some spammer puts out 10 trades, cancels them, puts up 10 more and legit trade offers still get buried after a while.

I think there is a limit, but it is very high atm. Meaning people can still spam nonsense trades at high volume now.

while i agree that there should be a limit, i have another suggestion. instead of putting individual trades on the gts, maybe we could sort the trades into users? like a folder of sorts? each user would have their own separate "folder" that contains all their trades they currently have set up, and maybe a search system could be implemented as well?

Very old thread, but I'm bumping again.

The limit needs to be lower, or there should be something preventing a user from creating identical trades in a certain amount of time. The number of times I see trades where someone spams the same exact trade multiple times in a row (asking for nuggets, looking for missing dex, asking for offers on gems or boxes, etc) is incredibly high and it's so annoying.

My 3 suggestions:

1. Lower the limit for how many trades someone can make in a day (or some other timeframe)
2. Prevent players from making the same trade repeatedly (this would have to be tested since someone could just modify the trade slightly to keep spamming)
3. Auto delete old trades, auto delete duplicate trades, and auto delete spammers' trades.
