@everyone
Hey, look, I wrote for the first time in literally. forever. Wouldn't mind some feedback, since I haven't gotten many opinions on it yet. Also, Noshu totally knows the characters, so @nishinoya will probably enjoy it the most-

As usual, the smell of dirty clothing,
sweat, and overly sweet perfume greeted Mauve the moment she walked
into the gym locker room. Girls were already chatting to each other
as they changed their shirts and lathered on deodorant, but she
paid no mind to them. She wasn’t going to break habit today. There
was a reason she insisted on permanently looking ready for a
workout at school. The idea of exposing any part of her body to
those judgemental eyes coated with too much mascara made her shiver
internally.
Mauve shoved her way through a small crowd of giggling sixth graders so she could stand in front of one of the cracked mirrors. Carefully, she bundled her neat black curls up into a high ponytail and checked over her outfit quickly. Her loose tank top the color of her name coordinated perfectly with the dye staining the tips of her hair, and her black leggings matched the velvety choker around her neck. The faintest touches of dark lipstick and her naturally long eyelashes gave her a striking appearance, but also made her seem a bit fierce. She liked it. Properly satisfied, she pushed her way back through the suffocating cloud of laughter and body heat to stuff her bag in a locker before heading out into the gym.
After several minutes of sitting on the bleachers and trying her best to look intimidating and bored at the same time, everyone was out of their separate changing rooms. Not that it really mattered to Mauve – it still smelled awful, there were still groups of people talking (just now, there was guys and girls, which made it worse), and the entire room continued to ignore her. Nothing was out of the ordinary, and why shouldn’t it be? It was a normal Friday in a normal November, and fate, it seemed, was not going to alter its path anytime soon.
A few minutes later, they started picking teams. Mauve didn’t notice until someone yelled “That girl!” at her, and she was forced to glance up. Wishing she had some pockets to put her hands in, she made her way across the scuffed floor to her team. Thankfully, they didn’t have to wear jerseys - the hideous shade of yellow would’ve totally clashed with her color scheme - but they were up first. Within a dozen seconds, it became obvious they were only playing kickball again, and she went back to zoning out.
Apparently, fate was going to change course that day, because she somehow ended up towards the front of the line. Maybe she was too spaced out, maybe the regular showoffs weren't in the mood that day, but whatever the reason, she found herself in quite the situation. She couldn’t just slip backwards now, one of the coaches would notice. If she had to actually do work for once in gym, that might raise her social ranking, which definitely couldn’t stand. The mere idea of the athletic, popular clique attempting to reel her in made her gag. The latter, however, appeared to be the better option. Letting her physical superiority show could have negative consequences, but it was better than being called out where everyone could watch. Of course, she could always refuse to aid her team by acting athletically incompetent, but the thought was dismissed easily. She was not one to do things halfway.
Stepping up to the mat that served as home plate, Mauve narrowed her eyes and waited. It wasn’t long before the pitcher was rolling the ball towards her. In a split second, she adjusted her position properly, aimed, and kicked. The ball went flying over the heads of the opposition, but Mauve didn’t wait to see where it landed – even though she already knew it would be too far away for any decent player to obtain it before she was already safe. She took off, hitting first base while the defense was still scrambling to figure out where the ball was.
Speed lifted her curls off of her neck momentarily, sparking a bit of thrill in her gut as she rounded second base. Already she was closing in on third, and she felt unstoppable.
Until the ball slammed into her side, almost making her trip.
She caught herself by laying her fingertips down on the ground for just a moment, retaining her balance enough to round on the person who got her out. Instead of the burly, stupid football player she expected, it was a scrawny black-haired kid with too-pale skin and pastel blue eyes. She knew him by name and reputation, unlike most of the people in her school. Tenebris Fear Calliyo, the kid who was so intelligent he managed to fix his own heart.
In all honestly, Mauve was the tiniest bit impressed by his mental capabilities, but that didn’t stop her from saying: “That was not possible. You're far to skinny to throw a ball like that.”
“Quite the contrary. I have good aim, even if biology is against me.” Tenebris replied calmly. “Either way, you’re out. Don’t be a sore loser.”
That’s when she snapped. Now, Mauve considered herself to be a generally level-headed person, but she simply couldn’t stand snide remarks from rude people. Even then, she didn’t fully understand why exactly she was lunging towards him. She wasn’t angry enough, she thought, at least not yet.
After, she would recall a common myth that shadowcrawlers – and shadespeakers in general – could hide magical words in the faint, whisper-y language underneath whatever they seemed to really be speaking. Many thought that these hidden words could influence the thoughts and actions of others. It would not be several weeks later until she learned that shadespeak didn’t contain any mystical sway over others emotions, and Ten simply hit the right buttons with the suggestion at unsportsman-like conduct.
Whatever the reason, she collided with him before he could properly react, folding like a house of cards under her. The entire gym erupted into chaos, but she was only aware of the strangled yelp he let out when something in his arm snapped beneath her fingers. He’s frail, she thought, frail and in over his head.
The initial shock wearing off, Ten’s skin started turning dark gray and he melted into a puddle of shadow. Mauve let him go, satisfied with the amount of damage she did as a coach yanked her to her feet.
“Office! Now!” He yelled, shoving her towards the exit. She shot him an annoyed look, but complied.
About fifteen minutes of sitting quietly in the office later, Tenebris walked in holding his arm and dropped himself down in the only available chair. Unfortunately, it was right beside Mauve. She counted the seconds of awkward silence. It was three hundred twenty-four before he spoke.
“I'm sorry, Mauve. I didn’t know the game meant so much to you. I thought you disliked attention.” He said slowly. Carefully. As if he was waiting to see the effect his words would have.
“It’s almost creepy how much you know about me. I’d be more worried if I didn’t know practically everything there is to know about you.” Mauve replied. Less carefully. She didn’t mind if she freaked him out or something, she was used to it.
He hummed and they lapsed into another bought of silence. She only got to one hundred sixty one this time. “You’re planning on going to Ather University. I tried to collect information on everyone going, but it got boring quickly. I remember you though. 78% shifter, 15% human, 7% forest alin. Naturally genderless, but female by choice. Specialty for fire. Father killed in an accident, mother didn't want you. Grew up in the Jackson household, adapted quickly. Love for Palpenn music even if you never learned the language.”
“You sure did your research,” was the only sign she was even listening.
“I know more. You were interesting. Are interesting. It’s stupid, I guess, but I admired you a bit. You've got a strong personality and a good idea of what you want,” he wasn’t as hesitant now. He was genuine. “I like that.”
“Well, you’re smart, so you've got that going for you.” Mauve muttered. A small part of her wanted to continue adding onto that list, but she kept her mouth firmly shut.
“Can we… not be like this? Can we remember the gym incident, but forget the tension that comes after it? Because I kind of want to be friends with you, I just don’t want it to start this way. I don’t want you to know me as the kid who was rude at first. I was just a little scared of messing up, I think, so I’m sorry about that. I’m being weird. Was that weird? You know what, forget what I just-“
“I'd like that. Not the forgetting what you said part, the thing before that.” He stared at her, blinking, so she continued. “I mean, you're not all bad. I wouldn’t mind being friends.”
Fifteen second pause. “Really?”
“Yeah.”
Twenty seconds. An inhale as if he was about to speak. Another seven before anything came out. “Okay. Yeah, okay.”
They sat in silence again, but it was much more companionable this time.
“Sorry about that arm, by the way. Is it broken?” Mauve asked, suddenly recalling how gingerly he’d been holding it when he walked in.
“I think so. It’ll be fine. The nurse will cut it off and it'll regrow by tomorrow morning.” Ten said, glancing down at it. A lady peeked out of a door that said ‘vice principal’ and called Mauve’s name.
“See you later, then?” She said as she got up from her chair. He nodded.
“Yeah, later.” He said as the vice principal’s door began to swing closed. “Later. Later.” He repeated to himself once he was alone, like he couldn’t believe someone wanted to see him again at all.
Mauve shoved her way through a small crowd of giggling sixth graders so she could stand in front of one of the cracked mirrors. Many years before the beginning of the
Roman Empire, was a world parallel to ours, and it was unlike the
world of earthlings. The world was where magic wielders existed,
but in small amounts, most of the population were ordinary human
beings. Likewise there also existed creatures never even heard by
people of earth’s dimension. By a universal law, not of its
inhabitants were about to know about the other world, and the same
goes for the people of earth. The dimension was identified as
XXinith.
In Xinith, there was a place known as Abyss. Abyss was a very dark and gloomy city, almost no light went to it and in fact there was also a place where no light went, even if it did, it got consumed in the everlasting darkness. Though it might make one feel it is were souls of wicked people went, it simply wasn’t, the people there were quite like regular people, but, yes there were some people who were punished for wrong doings, but people like them were all over Xinith.
A sorceress lived in Abyss, her name was Relan. Relan was a slender, tall woman with long curly black hair and hazel eyes, she wore a beautiful black gown, a silver necklace and blue slippers. Relan was a kind, compassionate, benevolent, calm, clever, brave yet strict sorceress. She had a high position in the court of Abyss and used her magic for the good of people. One day, a man, or rather, the soul of a man named Phdraig went to the sorceress. Phdraig’s physical body was destroyed as a punishment for scams and betrayal, leaving only a gray floating soul with his appearance. His soul was exactly like his physical body, a slender, medium heighted man, with brown hair, except gray and translucent. “O great sorceress, I request you to use your magic to return my physical body, I regret the misdeed I have done in the past, and I have been punished long enough for it,” Said Phdraig. “What you are requesting me for is possible, but it isn’t cheap, you are asking me to end you’re punishment given to you by the council, so you have to pay me with an artifact I desire,” Relan said, “You will have to bring me a Chrono flower or the Flower Of Time, which is said to be hidden somewhere in the Abyss. I will grant you back your physical body for two days, if you can’t, I will have to take your body for not being able to pay.” And with that being said, the sorceress gestured her hand towards Phdraig and with a glow, he had got his physical body back. “Thank you very much, great sorceress,” Phdraig said thankfully. “Remember, you have two days,” Relan reminded.
Phdraig, after getting his body back immediately set of for getting the Chrono flower, but, he was very lazy, so he thought to himself, “Why not wait, I have two days, I am sure the flower wouldn’t be that hard to find.” But his thoughts were opposite to reality, the Chrono flower is very rare, they take years to grow and only one grows at a time. The flower’s growth was slow because the flower had time contained in it, it also took thousands of years for only one of its petals to fall off. Phdraig kept slaking off; and on the second day, he lazily searched for the flower, it was obvious he couldn’t find it, so, he thought of tricking the sorceress. Phdraig remained like what he was before the punishment, he knew what the flower looked like and made a counterfeit Chrono flower.
When his time was finally over, he went to the sorceress and gave her the fake flower. Relan took the flower in her hand and immediately recognized that it was fake. Phdraig had angered Relan greatly, her eyes were red with anger, the flower on her hand started to burn brightly, and she threw the flame towards Phdraig. The fire consumed his body, destroying his body again, and he was a soul again. “You fool! Even if you had mistakenly brought me a wrong or fake flower I would have showed mercy on you, but you seem to have no remorse or regret of your past deed, so I will now chain and lock you in the area where no light reaches for the rest of eternity!” Relan exclaimed in bitter anger. She gestured her hand towards the darkest area of Abyss and then gestured at Phdraig, as chains came from that area, bind him and pulled him towards the dark area. Phdraig, struggled to free himself but failed. Ever since then, everyone feared to betray the sorceress and Phdraig never saw the light of day ever again.

It's great! I mean, I'm super selective with writing styles I enjoy, so it wasn't my kind of things, but it's certainly good for a beginner! I do suggest starting a new paragraph when another person is speaking, since that's technically the correct way to format. As well as that, a bit more description wouldn't hurt. But, overall, it was pretty good.
@noshunoshunoshu
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I plan on doing another one to explain how Sarcasm and Mals became friends, but I'm still uncertain about it-
@everyone else
I would still enjoy more feedback on my story! I don't mind constructive criticism, so don't be afraid to be a little harsh.
@Nostalgia
Wow! I was thrown back in the car seat because that sure was a ride! You describe everything very well. It's like I'm personally there.
@ExpressoPuncake
I liked it very much! It has a very nice tone to it. Though I would still say something to it, it seems Nostalgia has already pointed it out.
@Everyone
Thought I would make a lil' fun thing

The leaves on the trees have left
already. Said its goodbyes, and left the tree with its bare
shell.
Autumn.
Leaves are not for warmth. They give nothing. They left home too quickly, and regret it. Oh, leaves.
Family.
Maybe in the deep roots of the trees, they really miss the leaves. Family stays together, right?
I have to hurry. I cannot return home. If the trees really loved the leaves, they would find them again, instead of replacing them with some new.

aaaaaAAAA. Thank you! I really do try my best - personally, I worried the description was too long in some places - and I'm so glad you enjoyed it.

In the last story I posted I introduced Mauve and Tenebris. I have an introduction planned for the other characters as well - Sarcasm, Mals, and Death - all except one. I mean, to be honest, she's kind of new. Unlike the other characters, she wasn't officially made at the beginning to be a main character. But it seems she's grown on me and now I've cemented her as part of Team Eyeliner. The problem is, she doesn't have a name. I've tried every single one in my notebook and none of them have worked. So, I figure, what is a writing club for if not advice?
I need a name. It can be in another language (ex. Mahalo, Hawaiian), or something in English (ex. Lavender), or even just a random mashup of letters (ex. Tallian) - I'm honestly open to anything. I'd prefer it to be related to something calming or gentle, but really the only requirement is it has to sound feminine-ish. Mind helping me out?
[I don't know, they were the first two that popped in my mind after reading the explanation ^^']

“So… Zoe?”
“What, Chlo?”
Zoe looked back over at her friend.
The fight that had just occurred was abrupt, and had caught them both off-guard.
But the cause did make them think….
“What branch are you going to apply to?”
Zoe stared at Chloe. “Uh…”
She switched her gaze to the table.
She didn’t want to tell her this… She knew she wouldn’t like it.
“..Zoe?”
“I’m gonna apply for the Survey Corps…” She muttered, quickly shutting her eyes.
“Zoe, you WHAT?!!”
Zoe opened her eyes again.
….People were staring, Chloe was standing up with her chair knocked back to the floor.
Slowly, Chloe pulled her chair back, and sat back down.
“Sorry, Zoe…”
“It’s fine..”
Zoe looked back up at Chloe and smiled. “So.. What branch are YOU going to apply for?”
Chloe set her elbows down on the table, and rested her chin in her hands.
“I was thinking The Garrison… Neither of us can apply for the Military Police Brigade since we’re not in the top ten, and the Survey Corps is a bit too dangerous for me…”
Zoe nodded. “You know.. I thought you’d go with them…”
Chloe laughed. “That predictable, am I?”
“No, no! I just.. Couldn’t see you agreeing to something so dangerous..”
“And I didn’t think you would agree to something so dangerous, myself..”
Zoe sighed. “Listen.. I have my reasons, and you know my reasons. I’ve told you over and over..”
“Yeah, I just… Didn’t realize that you really were going to go through with this..”
Zoe smiled. “Well.. I can definitely try not to get myself killed, okay?”
Chloe playfully punched her arm. “Yeah, you’d BETTER not get yourself killed, or I’ll do it myself!”
“How would you manage that? I’d already be DEAD, genius!” Zoe asked, laughing.
“You think I know?!”
“Well, you’re the one who said it!”
The two began laughing, now just joking around.
“Seriously though, try not to die if you really DO join the Survey Corps.”
“Yeah, I will.”
“What, Chlo?”
Zoe looked back over at her friend.

“Hey, Chloe..?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you ever wonder how we got here?”
Chloe sat up, confused. “Huh?”
Zoe shrugged, staring absentmindedly at the grass. “Just… Here. Like… How did everyone know to go here and build the walls here…? You know?”
“Uhh.. I dunno, Zoe.. ...Is there a reason you’re asking me?” Chloe asked, her voice having a worried tone to it.
“You’re the only person I can ask.. And.. I was just thinking.. It’s kind of odd how all that remained of humanity knew that this is where they should go...” Zoe explained. “It’s not like we can read each other's minds..”
“Wouldn’t it be cool if we could though?!”
Zoe smiled. “Yeah, it would be, wouldn’t it?”
“We could talk about secret stuff and no one would know ‘cause they couldn’t hear us!!” Chloe exclaimed, throwing her hands into the air excitedly.
Zoe sat up. “Or if we had a sleepover, we could talk to each other late at night and no adults could tell us to go to bed!”
They both giggled.
“Or we could talk about… you know…” Chloe pointed to her left, and the nearest edge of the wall. “Out there without getting into trouble!!”
“That would be AWESOME!!” Zoe exclaimed.
They both laughed, again.
“Hey.. Do you think we’ll ever get to explore the world?”
Chloe shrugged. “Maybe! What would we do out there, though?”
“I don’t know.. Explore, I guess?”
“Yeah! And we would get to climb super tall trees, too!!”
“Hey, what sort of animals do you think are out there?”
Chloe looked at the ground. “Uhhh… I don’t know, but there’s probably thousands!!”
“There are probably more than that!”
Zoe stopped. “Wait… Do any numbers bigger than a thousand?”
“....TWO thousand?”
Zoe shook her head giggling. “Noo! I mean bigger than ANYTHING thousand!”
Chloe shook her head back. “No, I don’t.”
“Oh, well… I bet there’s more than just thousands out there!”
Chloe grinned. “Yeah!!”
“Zoe, where are you?”
The two girls looked towards the voice.
“Oh… Dad probably wants me to go home now.” Zoe explained.
“Aww…” Chloe whined. “Well, maybe tomorrow we can talk again?” She asked.
Zoe nodded. “Yeah! See you tomorrow, Chloe!” She answered, standing up.
“Okay! Bye, Zoe!!”
“Hey, Chloe..?”
