Nene was trying very hard not to squeeze her friend's arm too hard. "'Ri," she whispered between cheers for a newly assigned Gryffindor, "T-the hat...do you think everything's going to be okay?" Not that anything seemed out of the ordinary other than what the hat had said, but the more she thought about it, the more it freaked her out. Of course, she would do her best not to worry about it (she had things like O.W.L.S. to worry about instead!), but it definitely was making her a bit uneasy, and she could tell that 'Ri wasn't taking it lightly either, from the way her friend had tensed up for a few minutes after the hat's speech. What did 'Ri think about all of this? Despite the two girls being best friends, Nene sometimes found Hurricane to be so mysterious.

Heidi stares out the grand window near her. "I could turn and fly away if I really wanted to." she thought. She sighs and turns. She envies those who have friends and can spend this time chatting away. She certainly can't.
Holly thinks for a moment. "After we all get settled in." she suggests.

Turning to her friend, 'Ri forced an expression and tone of calmness. "Oh, of course! It'll be just fine. It was probably something we'll learn in History of Magic, anyway. I wouldn't worry." She grinned, though not quite believing her own words. Patting her friend's shoulder, she added, "Besides, why worry? We're almost through the line, which means food! Yes, food, yay?" The brunette clapped her hands together excitedly, pushing the thought of the Hat from her mind. A little flicker of nausea pressed in on her stomach at the thought of eating, but she knew it was just due to the mild anxiety she was feeling regarding the upcoming school year.
Though Suvansh hadn't had a lot of appetite left after the song, he willed himself some mountain dew via the magical goblets of Hogwarts. While he thought not to eat anything, he succumbed to his temptations and ate a handful of garlic bread and pasta. He looked around the great hall, unwary of the impeding threat. Once he's done, he gets up and has a quick word with the headmistress, who confirms, 8 pm, my office. Suvansh conveys this message to all the other headboys and girls, including Aurora. He then headed for the Gryffindor common room, before anyone else, and went into his dormatory. He had been given a private dorm room in his sixth year, due to a lot of his dormates leaving the previous year. He goes around readying stuff, and wonders when the prefects will bring the first years forth. He tries to read a book, but he was so tired, that he shook off the sleep.

Nene sighed and gave a brisk nod, letting go of 'Ri's arm. Her friend was right; the hat was a problem for another day; and besides, it would be the professors' job first if anything was awry. Giggling at her friend's enthusiasm for dinner, the blonde gasped happily as the food appeared, as though 'Ri herself had summoned it with her words. "Yes, food, yay," Nene agreed, already reaching for a roll. "Oh! Like I was saying earlier, I started gardening over the summer. It's kind of hard, but I actually really like it! I think you would, too." She'd managed to grow both cucumbers and tomatoes, and even some flowers like camellias; while it wasn't exactly a dramatic feat, it was pretty successful, in her opinion. "I bet magical gardening is way weirder - I mean, remember some of the stuff we saw in Herbology?" Nene gave a shudder, recalling some very dangerous plants that they'd been introduced to.

'Ri clasped her hands in front of her. "That sounds amazing! Have you taken a look at all of the plant decorations in the common room before? I mean like a close look? You might find some inspiration there. As for trying it myself, I... literally have killed every plant I've ever touched, but I'd be more than happy to!" Somehow, the 16 year old had even managed to kill a cactus, and that was quite recently, too. She was just happy to have a new thing she and Nene could do together, though. 'Ri ate a salad and some banana pudding, but that was about it. She was tired, no longer too hungry, and wanted to start decorating her bed. Inconspicuously, she pushed her plate back a bit and waited for Nene to finish, nails tapping distractedly on her leg as her mind wandered.
How about the library? Jason asks.
'Sorry dude, no im a prefect and i have to take the first years actually....aand i feel a bit wierd about this er.. of course you realised it was a prophecy?' Malcolm said
'Of course i did Mal. Anyways have you seen Aurora's been acting weird this year? Something's definitely going to go wrong...'
'Well whatever Jason, most of us can see and understand these strange going ons....huh i guess we'll have to meet in the library tom....'
'Tis ok Mal, anyways i need to sort out some matters in the common room' said Jason glancing at Rashi ..
'Its ok!Ha ha ha ha! of course you need to' Malcolm whispered with a knowing smile 'Bye!'
'Bye Mal!'
*Both of them run towards their respective houses*
Continuing to joke around while imparting knowledge on the fresh students, they soon arrived at the dormitories and entered the common rooms after demonstrating the password, waving to the portrait of Helga Hufflepuff. “To your left, my right, is the boy’s bedrooms and to your right is the girls. As you can see, we have measures in place so that boys can’t enter the girl's rooms. Why we don’t have that for the boys I have no idea, but we work with what we have.” He explained, stepping on the steps leading up to the girl's rooms. It held for a second before flattening into a slide. “For those of you who identify as neither, I have heard that there is a third room that is available for you to use. I don’t know how this particular spell works for you outside of the binary but again keep the basic rules of respect in mind. Don’t go into rooms you’re not supposed to be in without asking for consent and permission.” Making sure to let his point sink in, he nodded slowly. “Alright, well that about ends it for my own speech. Again, if you need any help please don’t hesitate to find me. I’m usually here in the common rooms but if you really need a different adult to talk to, Professor Sprout and Professor Flitwick are amazing teachers to talk to. And with that, you are free to go. Your trunks as always will be waiting in the rooms so be free! And remember, you’re here at Hogwarts to learn, make connections, and have fun. Remember to be kind to everyone because the world is filled with more than enough pain and cruelty. Now shoo, off you go.” Ending his speech by stepping aside, he watched as some of the braver students start towards the rooms and he watched with a sense of pride as the new Hufflepuff students begin to settle into the basement. Noting the time though, having already passed 8pm, Jules balked as he realized that his little tour had taken much longer than he had expected. "Hey, I have to run, someone answers the first year's questions!" He yelled towards one of the prefects before doing exactly that, running out of the common rooms and towards Headmistress McGonagall's office
