Tempest is intrigued by this. "I have a feeling you aren't going to immediately share your reasons, and that's okay" she glances back at Gateguard. The two may be strong, but in order to go up against the careers and other groups, they'll need more than two people on their team. "But I also don't think we should become an alliance... at least now right away. I hope you don't take offense to the fact that I can't trust you so quickly. Why are you seeking me out specifically?"

The district two tribute nodded coldly as if to say None taken. "I'll give you two reasons for that then," Adelaide responded. "One, you're not dumb. A bit too trusting, yes, but you're not gullible or blinded by foolish loyalty. The other, you're also from the previous games. I'm not about to side with someone new to the Games anyway." She shrugged on her coat, getting up to discard her tray and walk back to the training ring. "If you accept, see if you can find me a flower. Preferably a rose. I'll be needing it."

Rose counts the amount of people she knows from the last games. She narrows her eyes at a few people. Her mind is racing as she comes up with a plan.

Tempest watches Adelaide stroll away. She is slightly taken back by her sudden change. She mills over what she said as she walks back to where Gateguard is sitting. Well, it was apparent that she wasn't going to stab her in the back. Her anger confirmed that. It wouldn't hurt to team up with her; from what she remembers, Adelaide was incredibly strong. One thing that confused Tempest was that Adelaide was requesting a rose. She knew where she could find one. There were roses in each of their bedrooms. She threw hers away, but maybe she could get to it in time. "Hey. I'm thinking about adding Adelaide to our alliance" she tells Gateguard.

Echo sighed as Adelaide walked away, balling up his fists. He silently wondered if he'd be able to actually talk to her for a moment before the games started. He slammed the table with a grimace, laying his head down on his hands.

Echo threw up his head, glaring at Rose. "I'm fine!" He hissed angrily, standing up. "Why do you care!" He didn't need to he distracted by anyone, and while he knew it could be a good idea to try and get on these people's good side, he just couldn't bring himself to care.

Rose stands up and glares at him. "I am TRYING to be Polite." she says coolly. "Seeing that you would rather me not ask, I won't. Have fun being rude in the arena, people won't take that very well." she snarls before she turns and starts walking away.

"I don't need anyone to like me! I can do just fine on my own!" Echo snarled, looking at Rose through narrowed eyes. "You're from District 8, right? Unfortunately, I don't see you getting very far. Besides, who'd want to team up with a nobody like you! You'll be dead by the first night." He grit his teeth in anger as he bullied her. Act strong, and people won't think you're weak.

Rose looked at him. "Unlike you, I've survived games." she hissed. She takes a step closer. "Me, unlike you, have an idea on how these games work." she snarls. She taps her jacket and it changed. It changed to look like the table behind her. If her skin wasn't visible, it would be quite hard to tell she was there. "At least I don't have to pretend to be strong." she hisses. She is inches away from him now. "I survived till the end last time. I'll survive again. I'd watch my back if I were you." she mutters. "Even the strongest of foes can be taken down by nobodies."

Echo was seething with anger at this point, he couldn't back down and accept defeat. He had to retrain himself from just running foward and punching her in the face. "You might have lived your first time, but I wasn't in the games last time. If anyone should be watching their back, it's you." He snarled angrily, before turning around and walking away.

Rose made a mental note to remember him. She smiled at his back. She enjoyed the idea that she had made him angry. She decided to exploit that. "First things first. Annoy the crap out of him." she mutters to herself.

Mulling over the words, Gateguard raised and eyebrow. "Adelaide? I assume that's why you were talking to her earlier, yes? I personally don't have any qualms with working with her, she might prove useful as well, but I am a little wary of her. She aligned herself with the careers last year." He hummed, shrugging.

Adelaide's ears pricked up at the sound of heavy, thudding footsteps, and she coyly turned around to see the very pissed off Echo. She vaguely remembered that Echo had already attempted to approach her in conversation, and yet was rebuffed. Frankly, she didn't have the best relationship with her tribute partner. They butted heads more than anything. She swerved so that she was directly in his path. "Join me in training? I have to talk to you in private."

"She did. That's why I am a bit cautious in forming an alliance with her. But I think this could be a good decision on our part. She is cunning and strong. And she didn't seem suspicious when she was speaking with me. I say we give her a chance" Tempest explains. "But first thing if first... if we do choose to create an alliance with her, we'll have to find a rose to give her"

Echo looked at her, trying to detect any malice. Finally he let out a heavy sigh. This was what he was hoping for anyways, right? "Alright, but this better not be a waste of my time." He huffed, taking lead as he walked past Adelaide.

Adelaide's icy chuckle haunted the halls that they were walking through, the laugh conveying a message along the lines of. Echo, when have I ever been a waste of your time. Poor Echo. A warrior from the most favored district of all, and yet his buttons were being pushed by all of the lesser tributes. What a bother. The steel silver floors and hallways eventually lead them back to the crypt-quiet training room. She quietly picks up a wrap of tape to tape her knuckles - she split hers last year and nods to the sparring ring.

"Where the hell do we get a rose?" He grumbled, rubbing the back of his neck. Glancing around, the bright fabric of the fishhook making station caught his eye. "Does it have to be a real rose? Maybe we can craft one there..." He pointed out, unsure if that actually meet the requirement.

"You want to spar?" Echo grimaced, looking at Adelaide. "I don't think that's allowed. Pretty sure there are strict rules about fighting other tributes before the games." He didn't want to seem like a weak coward, but he also didn't want to be caught breaking any rules.
