Full support!!

There are only so many slots in your battle parties but so many I'd rather not lose for whatever reason - special gift, SM, favorites....

Being able to lock them in would be a wonderful option and easy to undo should you decide to sell later on.

Fullest support.

Tip before this is implimented:
Battle teams might help a bit, but I do believe there are an extra 2 slots in the nursery if you aren’t shiny hunting. But there are still only so many of them, so I would love to see this implemented.

I suppose this suggestion is now obsolete by the new Pokémon Recovery update Riako implemented 😄 thank you everyone for providing feedback and ideas!

Honestly, I still support this idea and think it would be great to have regardless of the new Recovery Tool for released Pokémon being implemented. Most of your Pokémon that you cherish shouldn't be necessary to be put in your Battle Team for it to act like a release lock for them. I know for a fact this is something many people do and I know they are going to continue to do so.

I'm sure nobody wants to accidentally release their Pokémon and have to pay a 10k fee to get it back, thus why a simple, dedicated, and user friendly locking system for Pokémon would still be useful thing to have.

but, there's a feature which allows you to recover any of your released pokemon, so I am not sure how or why did this suggestion get approved when there is a feature which allows you to recover your pokemon which you released, but i will support this suggestion because you won't have to pay 10,000 for your released cosmog or your released Mewton M. Meowth

@JolteonThunder, this suggestion was made a LONG time ago, lol, that's why it was initially approved and posted to the forum. I've already made light that this suggestion is pretty much obsolete now.

@Ephenia, I agree to an extent, but honestly, I think the Pokémon Recovery system solves the problem. It provides a way for you to restore lost Pokémon, and requires a small fee to do so, which penalizes you (in my opinion, quite fairly) for being careless about what Pokémon you release. I'm satisfied with its implementation and I honestly do not find the idea of locking a Pokémon from being released a priority at this point. That being said, I'd still be quite happy if it was considered and later implemented.

Wait. Can’t you just put a private trade to yourself with the Pokémon you cherish? You won’t be able to release them and it has no limit?

@Chewydabacca, that's more of an unintended use of a system that happens to work. While it does work, the original idea suggested was focused on providing a specific solution that fixes the problem directly, and was intended to do so. Once again, I find the suggestion redundant due to the newly implemented Pokémon Recovery system.
