The City and Its People
Forum-Index → Roleplay → The City and Its PeopleA voice crackled to life through Ellie's comms.
"Kid. I'd reccommend you get into the air right about..."
Suddenly, the shadows twisted and contorted.
"Now."
Then, claws of pure darkness ripped into the sides of both mafia distraction ambulances, stopping them dead in their tracks.
"Kehehe. That was clean."
A man stepped out of the shadows, pulling the hood of his black hoodie off.
"Can you deal with this on your own?"
Twilight snapped, and the claws of darkness popped the tires of the ambulances(ambuli?) and disappeared.
wickedness?
Or is it
weakness?
You decide.

-Parable of the Sower
It happened often enough that he didn’t really care much. Tossing a wrapper into the bin, Yutoshi yawned and looked at his phone for the time, and went outside, and summoned a wandering albatross to fly ahead and look for people either from Mafia or the ESA that he may not be able to track. He himself took a leisurely stroll to the town centre, using his tracker ability to track Ellie and perhaps be of some use.
Once he arrived, he approached Ellie and looked around, things were messy and chaotic, crowded with people and a huge uproar in general.
“Hi. Uh… Do I need to do anything?”
Yutoshi asked, half hoping that he didn’t and could go back to sleep.
The sun brightened as she did so, clearly excited to see someone that wasn’t dark and broody like Twilight.
“Emo shadow man helped us save the civilians!”
She chirupped, her smile widening and the sun became unbearably brighter….and a little hotter.
“We should get them to safety. Wanna help?”
Ellie was smiling. But no didn’t seem to be an option either. One way or another, Yutoshi would be helping.
“Fine…”
In all honesty, he was debating whether or not to summons some animals and then go sleep somewhere, but knowing his colleagues, they’d probably drag him up again.
Scratching the back of his neck awkwardly, and shuffled along to get some civilians out of the ambulances. Although without the enthusiasm that Ellie seemingly possessed towards this mission.
He failed to see how the girl was so excited everyday while he just wanted to eat or sleep, despite the fact that they were the same age.
They now had a clear path straight to the hospital. Sure, it definitely toppled a tree or too, but the journey was now significantly shorter.
Ellie put the remaining injured civilians on a cloud, before slamming the remaining mafia members who for some reason, hadn’t fled the scene with a huge gust of wind, pushing them off the bridge and into the water below, striking them cheerfully with a lightning bolt for “extra luck”
Yutoshi muttered and got to work, shepherding the civilians down the way towards the hospitals, along with a few of his more threatening looking animals to glare at anyone who tried or attempted to step out of line.
Those who were injured were either on stretchers or the backs of huge bears or tigers, although unwillingly.
She shaded the animals with a giant cloud, happily floating towards the hospital
“Can’t your animals catch us food? Worst come to worst, we can have toasted mafia members! If they’re not soggy and burnt to crisp yet…I did strike them with lightning”
She thinks hard, before flopping back on the lightning bolt “Oh well!”
Ldeya's smirk didn't fade as the bullet pinged off the ground a millimetre from her foot, leaving a tiny crater in the cement.
"But, I do appreciate the compliment. Nice people are so rare these days, hmm?"
Let me tell you a secret,
The real monsters don't look like monsters~
“You realise we’re in an overpopulated urban city with people and not a forest with wild animals right…?”
Damn, Why was she so overly optimistic about literally everything. And also, if she didn’t have money, then…
“Wait- have we even got the monthly payments from ESA yet?”
She hums happily
“Don’t know, don’t care. Everyone gives me free stuff anyways~”
Ellie didn’t need payment to survive. All she needed was her baby-doll eyes and everyone would be tripping over themselves to gift her things. It didn’t help that the ray of sunshine also had a really big heart to help others
Yutoshi didn’t want to send his animals miles away to catch food that they may not even be able to cook when out on the field like this. Nor did he really believe Ellie’s statement about free things. After all, there’s no such thing as a free lunch.
But damn he wished there was a free dinner or something because a few moments ago he swore he had been eating breakfast.
The ESA better feed them soon.
She rejoined her Disney-princess powered friend, grinning as she handed Yutoshi a takeaway container of somen noodles.
“Told you so”
“I see… though i bet it won’t work with anyone else.”
He took the food and started eating like he hadn’t seen food in a few years. Since he practically had animals living inside him, food was a very important part of his ability, he needed to be full at all times to supply his body with enough nutrients.
At least there wasn’t anyone around to tell them off for slacking off during work. Twilight was… somewhere and who knew where the ESA agents were.
Yutoshi stretched and summoned a few more animals, the tattoos they were stored in shifting and contorting as they appeared.
At this point, most of the civilians had been evacuated, so there were only a few animals for surveillance.
Yutoshi yawned and went to sit down against one of his summoned tigers, which made for a nice backrest. All the civilians were out of the way now, and he was not going to work overtime, no way.
Ruffling a hand through his messy pink hair, Yutoshi rubbed his eyes and half fell asleep.
And for Yutoshi….? No really hadn’t been an option, as she once again swayed the store owner nearby into giving them two free bento boxes, one of which she placed in Yutoshi’s hands
“What do we do now, boss?”
Ellie asks Ophelia through comms
PAperwork. What an absolute...
She grumbled under her breath.
"Ellie, Yutoshi, you're coming with me. We've caught some radio chatter. Twilight. Make sure no one gets out of hand through the city. LEthal force is not permitted."
wickedness?
Or is it
weakness?
You decide.
“Wait… she’s gonna pay us for overtime right…?”
He pet his tiger affectionately and unsummoned it, standing up and stretching, turning to Ellie. Out of all the members it had to be them who had to go, so much for healthy work-life balance.
“Also- isn’t that way out of our pay grade?”
Ellie hums happily, unbothered by the fact the government hadn’t (and probably wouldn’t) compensate them for any overtime they did.
“And yes, yes. Of course it is! But who else sends literal kids to attack a highly dangerous group of talented individuals?”
“Especially one led by big boss’ ex!”
And with that, Ellie cloud surfs to Ophelia’s office.
