Glimmer had been relatively silent ever since she boarded the ship.
There wasn’t really much to talk about after all. Cat like eyes
raked over the scene before her, and she twirled her hair idly
whilst waiting for the Captain to finish her long speech. Glimmer
was a woman of few words, so she couldn’t understand how people
could stand to use their voices that much. Rei hadn’t given her any
specific instructions, so she figured she hadn’t been noticed yet.
She winced at Zoe’s overwhelming voice. Why, why was she so LOUD?
And why on earth was she giving our instructions? Wasn’t that the
captain’s job? Glimmer shot Zoe a withering glare, before leaning
against the banister to throw her Milotic, Julia, a treat.
Nodding in understanding, Howl internally rolled her eyes. While
she understood and supported the decision to keep the newcomers on
a tighter leash, why did it have to be her. Yes, months of being in
a somewhat healthy environment had taught her a lot of how things
on the ship should be done, but it would be a lie to say that she
was well adjusted. Still Howl wouldn't complain or question his
captain's decision. "Aye. Best keep an eye out for abbey
luggers..." He said, mostly to himself as he glanced at Glimmer
slightly reproachfully before heading towards the anchor and
hefting the heavy metal himself. It wasn't intended as an insult
against Quincy or their Dartrix, but asking newcomers who didn't
look like they had lifted anything heavier than a sack of flour to
heft something that weighed more than 50 pounds wet as their first
task was just dumb. Even seasoned sailors sometimes needed help
weighing anchor under certain circumstances.
Stowing the anchor away properly and safely, Howl retreated into
the rigging, nestling herself up top to keep an eye on the sea and
the crew. For now he would simply watch and report back to the
captain as needed, Minsoo wandering around on deck also keeping a
watch on the crew
Quincey laughs. "Aye. If I were to lay a finger on some like the
anchor, I would snap like a Farfetch'd leek," they reply. "That's
why I stay 'ere doing the thinking, while you all do the heavy
work." Climbing the ladder to the crows nest, Quincey sits down and
watches beyond as they leave behind the land. "We'll keep lookout
up here," they call down, but secretly, it was so they could relax
away from all the commotion. But none of them needed to know that.
Zoe soon begin to realize her mistake, "Okay, I must remember that
the captain is responsible for telling the crew members of the S.S.
Kabutops of what to do", Zoe nodded her head in disbelief and
Sapphire the Horsea cheered Zoe up in the best way she can. "Thank
you Sapphire, I feel a bit better", Zoe said. Zoe then started to
walk around the ship in hopes of finding the information on the
treasure of Pewter, "Excuse me, captain? Do you know where I can
find the library on the S.S Kabutops?", Zoe asked politely.
*Rei laughed at Zoe's request and motioned towards Zoe* Follow me
to the li- *Rei kept laughing as she went below deck and Zoe
followed. Finally Rei got to a dark and damp area of the ship and
pointed to a small broken shelf with 3 books on it: a dictionary of
seaslang, a damaged copy of Moby Huge: The Wailord of Many Tales,
and a Helixian Bible. Through her laughter, she then spoke* There's
your library, Whistling
Zoe then said, "I sent in my sincere thank you Captain", as Zoe was
stunned and amazed at the books in the library then Zoe said, "I
just hope there's information on the treasure of Pewter". As Zoe
begin to grab the Helixian Bible, her Horsea Sapphire appeared and
wanted to look at the book as well, Zoe then knew that she needs to
make sure that she used the right book to find the information on
the treasure of Pewter but Zoe that the adventure is about to begin
and knows that she must focus hoping that the adventure will go
smoothly.
Quincey looks down at the scattered crowd below. Noticing an
uncomfortable atmosphere from one, she climbs down. "'ey," she say
to Glimmer. "You alright then? Couldn't 'elp but notice a wee bit
of tension coming from ya." She eyes the Milotic, it's scales
shining bright in the sun. Dartrix, still on the nest, coos in its'
sleep.
Glimmer tilts her head to stare at the person who’d just dropped
down to meet her. “New girl’s been pretty noisy. Ain’t a pretty
sight nor a pretty sound.” She relaxed her stance, and grabs a
stubby pencil from her pocket, along with a scrap of paper. She
licks the stub of the pencil and scribbles on it, handing it to
Quincey. The paper read: Name’s Glimmer, don’t really talk much but
we can communicate via writing. Since we’re gonna be crewmates, is
that there your pokemon? Glimmer gestures to the Datrix, then
motions towards Julia, who gracefully arches out of the water and
lands on board the ship, looking expectantly for a treat she knew
would come.
"Is there perhaps a room to make a cup or two of tea?" Vin asked
hopefully thinking about making a nice cup of earl grey or perhaps
one of his chai teas. Tea made everything better. Plus as an added
bonus it made acting as Vin or Vincent far easier.
Continuing hard to find the information on the Treasure of Pewter,
Zoe attempted to find the information from the book that she was
viewing, Sapphire the Horsea was by her side. "Where is that
information? I can't seem to locate it", Zoe said, while looking
through the pages a piece of paper fell out from the book, Zoe
grabbed the piece of paper and she sees the writing in the form of
the journal, "Something's interesting, I must give it to the
captain and hopefully she will understand what it is", Zoe said
with curiousity.
*As Rei left Zoe to her books, she began to recompose herself. Once
on the deck, she looked at the bustling crew working to prepare the
ship. She heard Bisharp walk towards her and once a few feet away
from her, he stopped* Is everything ready, Bisharp? *Bisharp nodded
his head and Rei smiled and patted his face as she walked by him
and began to yell* Alright! All hands on deck! Prepare to
disembark! *Rei turned and began to walk to the ships steering
wheel and as she was, the ships already busy crew became twice as
noisy and hecktic as they began to man their positions for the long
journey ahead.*
After hearing the captain voice of "All hands on deck!", Zoe knows
that she must be prepared for the journey ahead, so she placed the
piece of paper and continued to search for information on the
treasure of Pewter, as Zoe read she sees the information on the
location of the treasure of Pewter, "I can't see the writing, I see
the word "Undella Bay", I really am unsure if this is the location
where the treasure of Pewter is, it's too early to tell", Zoe said.
He sighed and cracked his knuckles before making his weigh to Rei.
Racing up to the deck taking three steps at a time he stopped a few
feet away from her, "Vinny reporting for duty! All hands on deck
and what not. But uh...call me Vin. Only my mother calls me Vinny."
*Rei wrapped a rope around her hand and pulled it with her arm, but
nothing happened. From a distanceshe couldn'tsee what was wrong but
out of the corner of her eye, she saw Vin standing. She turned her
head and looked at him as he was talking, leading her to shout over
the sound of the crew* I dont give a Rattata's Rear what your
mother calls you, or what your father calls you, or even what a
primary school teacher taught you! *She motioned to the rope and
yelled instructions* Some idiot didnt unhook the sidesail, follow
this rope and unhook it so we can go! Understood?
"Sure thing." He replied smiling as he made to the mast. Not to
different from climbing a tree. As he made his way up he sighed at
how utterly crass some of the commoners could be. Still he
appreciated the crassness over the fake smiles nobles had.
"Aye," Quincey replies. "Had 'er since I was a wee one. Hoping to
get 'er evolved real soon." Dartrix coos. "And I assume that
slippery bugger is yours?" Quincey put out her hand. "Names
Quincey, but you can call me whatever suits your fancy. Long as it
ain't Scotty."
Glimmer writes on the piece of paper again: That’s really nice.
Same for me, I’ve had her since I was young. She was originally a
Feebas. Evolved when I was 13 or thereabouts. Your guess is right,
that there Milotic is mine. Julia, upon figuring out the Dartrix
was Quincey’s Pokemon, stretched up to the crows nest to look at
it. After a short pause, Glimmer speaks again. “Think the Captain’s
got something for us to do?”
Quincey sighs. "Probably, but I shan't be down 'ere much longer."
She goes up to the pole. "See you later, eh?" She climbs up,
joining her Pokemon, who had just woken up. Pulling out her
notebook, she remarks all that's happened so far, even if it not be
much.
At his captain's orders, Howl went through his usual routine of
getting the Kabutops ready, mostly by pushing barrels out of the
way and organizing the deck into less of a occupational hazard than
it usually was. While she could theoretically help with the ropes
and lines, it was always fun to let the newcomers try their hand
and something they saw as "easy" before failing miserably and
needing assistance. That seemed to be the case here as someone
forgot the side sails and someone else had to scale the mast in
order to do it. The person, a noble by the looks of his extravagant
clothes than probably cost more than anything Howl had ever made in
her lifetime, had been the unlucky one. Howl just hoped he wasn't
afraid of heights or anything
Back at the library, Zoe still investigating the information on the
book that she is currently reading but that was halted as the S.S
Kabutops started to shake a bit, "I guess the ship is about to set
sail, I guess the real adventure is about to begin", Sapphire the
Horsea looked at Zoe and nodded. "I just hope the captain knows
about that, but I think I will wait", Zoe finished reading the book
and placed it back on the shelf, "I think I might have to grab the
next book so that I can continue to find that information".
