Hello, quick question. Are we allowed to do any pokemon that's not a legendary? Or is it any pokemon that doesn't have a mega form yet?

(e.g. If rapidash already have a mega form can we still do one for it?)

Like there are Variants of Galarian mega forms also, like when Mega Rapidash have been released, its Galarian variant was also released. So, can we make both mega variants of other ‘mons too? They will sure count as two entries so two entries from one user can also be selected or not?

Why am I not allowed to sprite the exact copy of a design I made? I never said it was somebody's dooodle - but at the same time I neither said it was mine, so I can see from where the confusion comes from. Apologies to that. ^^;
Stealing another ones idea and concept is forbidden, I already know that. yet I said it so misleading xD

So let me rewrite my question/s: Is it alright to submit an entry, if my doodle design is known - but the sprite design isn't known? Like saying my general idea is out, but not the sprite?

Your sprite cannot be an exact copy of the doodle/concept art, no matter who the artist is.
Designs need to be secret, so if someone saw the design and you copy it exactly, they already know what a possible future event might look like.

That was also the case with the previous Event Spriting Contests, when a Mega Sprite won. We just decided to split the contest in 'Event' and 'Mega' from now on, to give both the proper attention.

Title: Shaky hands and no digital experience

I really want to enter this contest, but as mentioned in the title, my hands shake a lot when attempting to draw online, and i have no experience with creating sprites or using any form of digital media. I recently tried to use several websites after seeing this contest, but they all turned into a mess. Would it be possible to draw on grid paper, then scan and upload the image as an entry? I can keep it within the pixel range, shrink, and crop the image to an appropriate size.

@Torracat, if you have windows, you could try Microsoft Paint. And if not, try Krita. MS Paint is pixel only and free; Krita has a pixel option and free. I have no tips about your shaking hands tho, sorry.

@Torracat you can try ibis paint. It is a free app which you can download on your android. It allows you to use layers, if you find it hard to draw electronically you can take a picture of your drawing on picture, put it on a layer and try tracing it on the layer above. ;)

Curious really quick and wanted to ask it before I completely finished the sprite so I don't make the mistake in case; but can the design of said mega have a little bit of influence off of creatures of urban legend/anomalies? [i.e. a mega with some inspiration taken from the moth man/loch ness monster/etc etc.]
It wouldn't be exactly like said design of the urban legend creature at all, but would have some inspo from it! And just wanted to see if that fell under copyright.

What if I choose to create mega evolutions for pokemon who have multiple evolution such as eevee, tyrogue, odish, poliwag and others. So say I create mega evolutions for hitmonchan, hitmontop and hitmonlee who all evolve from tyrogue, would that count as one entry? Would I be allowed to do that?

No, this would count as three entries. You're allowed to submit all three of them, but only one of them can win.

If we think we are going to submit more than one (no more than 3) mega idea, would they need to be submitted together? Or can they be submitted as they are finished?

They can be submitted as you finish. They'll count as separate entries, so there's no need to submit them all together.
