They must've had another fight Gwen thinks to herself. Otherwise, Tani would've known about this. "I'm sure Sage, Luke, or Leaf would've told you eventually, I think they've been preoccupied with all the recent events" she points out. "Still, it's no excuse, you need to know so that you can help her." Gwen sighs. "Is there anything I can do to help? I want Maddy to get better."

*Tani shook her head and began walking backwards* No, I'll take care of it. You just get the people ready to leave! *Tani then turned around and began to run to Sages home. But when she got there, Maddy wasnt there. She then began to run to her home, knowing Maddy had to be there.*

*After several more unsuccessful attempts to try and walk, Maddy's arms were bruised and slightly bloody from falling onto the hard wood floors. She hit the ground out of anger and yelled at it before angrily dragging herself back to her chair. She pulled herself up it and readjusted herself and just stared at the poles. After about a minute, she moved backwards and went to the bedroom. The sheets were torn up and the drawers were open, with some clothes half way in the drawers or completely fallen out. She moved to the bed and reached under it, dragging out a little box. She opened it and saw her sword, still shattered into many pieces from the day she lost her legs. She slowly moved her hand to touch the hilt but once she did, she had a flashback to the day Talla crippled her. She heard the sound of her blade shattering and saw Talla's eyes, causing her to quickly close the box and put it back under the bed*

Rose watched Tani leave, attempting to mask her expression. She looked over at Freya to find the latter sliding a cloth down the tip of her blade. She wondered what Freya thought of this place, as it was most likely very different from what Freya was used too.

*Tani ran up to the house but right as she reached for the handle, she stopped. She listened and waited for a moment. She then took a deep breath and opened the door. As she walked inside she saw the mess Maddy had made during her rampage a few nights before.* Maddy? *Tani heard a floorboard creak in the hallway and saw Maddy wheel out of their bedroom. Tani ran towards her and hugged Maddy*

In an attempt to pass the time, Gwen walks over to Irida, who had a hand-drawn map laid out in front of her and was busy marking certain paths. Most likely ones that lead to her kingdom.

"Hey, I think we started off on the wrong foot. We should try to get along now since I'm assuming we'll be working together at Kestrian." Surprisingly enough, Gwen manages to keep her tone friendly.

"Great" Irida replies dismissively. "Are you ready to leave general?" Irida asks, her voice was slightly high pitched, as if she were speaking to a child.

"Don't worry, it won't take me long to pack" Gwen responds with a forced laugh. Suddenly, Irida stands up, she turns around to face Gwen. Her eyes were filled with fury.

"Don't worry? I don't think you quite understand, so let me make this easy for you." Irida snaps while jabbing Gwen's forehead with her finger. "There. Is. An. Incoming. Invasion" Irida crosses her arms and snorts. "I won't tell you how to do your job, but you should be a bit more hasty about leaving. Afterall only your whole kingdom's lives are on the line." Irida explains. Irida's eyes drop down to Gwen's fists, which are clenched. "Oh ho ho, do you want to fight me?" Irida asks with a smug smile. She leans forward, the distance was perfect for a haymaker. "I'm feeling generous, you can have a free punch" Irida challenges. Gwen silently stares at Irida before shaking her head. Gwen turns around and walks away. But oddly enough, when she turns around to glare at Irida, Irida almost seems to look disappointed.

Luke gets out of deep thought. He decides to go on a walk through town, just to drop in on what was going on. He exits the his home, stretches, and starts walking. Barry, on the other hand, saw Luke come out and decided to sneak up on him. Barry quietly walks over to Luke at a faster pace than him, the says, “Boo!” Luke jumps a bit and faces Barry. “Hello Barry. How’re you doing today?” Barry says, “I’m doing great! What about you?” Luke says, fine.” Luke then says, “Also, sneak attack!” Luke embraces Barry and starts doing that thing where you rub someone on the head with your fist, but to where it doesn’t hurt. Barry and Luke giggle a lot and smile. Luke says, “Barry, you feel like a little brother to me, ya know?” Barry respond with, “And you feel like an older brother to me.” They say goodbye for now, with Barry running off and Luke continuing to walk around.

Luke hears a voice that sounded familiar, but he couldn’t quite put his tongue on it. He walks closer to where the voice had come from, accidentally bumping into Rose, not knowing it was her voice or that she was Rose. “Ah, sorry, I didn’t mean to bump into you.” he says to Rose.

Leaf rejoined Blossom's side as they looked over medical supplies. "Did you see we got more people here?" Leaf asked. "What do they want?"

Blossom nodded. "I know, I met them. Not sure what they want though."

Star had just finished with the two swords and sat down on a small bench and rubbed her aching wrists. A loud kitten mew made her jump as she lost her train of thought and looked down. A small scruffy black kitten stood just beneath her feet and looked up at her with tiny green eyes. Star frowned. "What?" The kitten mewed at her again and started nuzzling Star's feet before sniffing for food. "Again? I just fed you." The kitten as if to respond looked at her and mewed again. With a sigh, Star leaned over and plucked the kitten by the scruff before settling him in her lap. "You're an attention horder, you know that?" The kitten sneezed and shook his head, a small collar made of metal was loosly around the black kitten's neck. The tag read "Charcoal."

(Imma just drop this here as it does reference Star's kitten Charcoal)

*Maddy didn't hug Tani back. So many thoughts were rushing through her head all at once. She then began to speak* Why did you leave? *Tani slowly pushed herself away from Maddy and looked at her.* Maddy, what are you talking about? *Maddy's breath became staggered as she sat there.* Why did you leave? *Tani scoffed* Maddy, can we just drop this? It's not healthy- *Maddy interrupted Tani* Why did you come back? Why did you-*Maddy's eyes began to change colors as her rage grew* Freaking??! Come back??! *Tani's eyes began to tear up and she tried to speak* Maddy, Gwen told me- *Maddy interrupted Tani* Oh, Gwen!! I guess because Gwen told you it must be true! *Tani yelled at Maddy* Maddy stop it!! Gwen's your friend! She was just worried about you!

*Maddy continued on her rant* You listen to everyone else talk about me, but you dont listen to the person they look down upon! *Tani yelled at Maddy* I made a mistake, I shouldn't have come back! *Tani began to walk towards the door and Maddy continued to berate her* Ya, that's right! Run away! Run like you always do! *Tani turned around and held up her finger* DONT YOU DARE TALK ABOUT WHAT I HAVE AND HAVEN'T DONE MADDY! YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH IT PAINS ME TO SEE YOU LIKE THIS- *Maddy interrupted her* LIKE WHAT??!

After some small talk with Blossom, she started back home when she heard shouting. She paused and looked at Maddy and Tani's shared house. Were. . .were they okay? She wasn't too keen on all the yelling. Granted lovers do have their quarrels with some being worse than others, but this one sounded really bad.

(No she's not going in, but she is making note.)

*Tani yelled at Maddy. Tears started rolling down her face and her voice began to break* Like this!! In pain! In a constant state of depression and rage! *Maddy's eyes slowly began to revert back to their normal color as Tani yelled at her* And you talk to me like I dont know what your going through and who knows!? Maybe I dont! But you have to help me Maddy! You have to help me understand! Because until you do, I cant help you! *Tani stopped yelling and almost collapsed onto a chair. She put her face in her hands and began to break down. Maddy slowly wheeled over to her and spoke in a more calm voice* Tani? *Tani ignored Maddy. But then Maddy heard Tani quietly speak.* I'm done, Maddy. It's over. *Those words were a huge punch in the gut to Maddy. She felt as though a blade was being pushed right through her heart. And as Tani stood up and walked out of the house, Maddy just stared. A single tear began to roll down her face until it too fell to the ground and broke.*

*Tani walked down the streets of Telmar and walked back to Luke's home, with tears in her eyes. She was in disbelief at what she just did. But she felt it had to happen. Once she reached Luke's home and saw he wasnt there, she closed the door behind her and rolled into a little ball at the base of it, weeping heavily into her arms and knees.*

Rose snorted. "Don't recognize an old friend Luke?" she asks, bitterness seeping from her voice like venom. Freya coughs from her corner and fixes her intent icy blue gaze on Rose, who calms down, but is still visibly frustrated. "I shouldn't have come back. No one missed me." Rose thought, allowing herself few bitter thoughts before shutting her emotions.

Kinda hard to remember people when you can’t really, well see their faces. I wondered where you had gone. Rose bits her tongue to keep from laughing. "Well... let's just say I've been caught up in this war far longer then the rest of you have." she said, choosing a safe answer. "After the events of... 'The Day the Thunderbird's fell..." Mallory decided to come with me to the North. That was both the best decision of my life and the worst. You remember Mallory right? She was the redheaded painter friend of mine. We met Irida during our Journey..." she trails off. "Mallory is gone." she says finally, avoiding the eyes of everyone left in the room.

Luke doesn’t seem in the best of moods right now anymore. “Yeah, I remember Mallory.” He seems upset that she didn’t make it. He looks hopefully where Rose’s face is, and then smiles. “But it’s nice to have you back around here.” He trips on a small rock as he walks forwards and falls on the ground. “I’m fine.” he says as he slowly gets back up while trying not to fall.

Rose makes no movement to help him up. "Come on Freya, I think we should go find Irida." she says finally, gesturing for the knight to follow her. She turns away quickly, not bothering to say goodbye to Luke. Too much has happened, too much has changed. Making sure Freya is following her, Rose makes impressive time getting out of there.

As the citizens of Telmar rushed to pack all of their possessions, a group of men on the backs of Marchhounds watched from a distance, far beyond anyone could see with a naked eye. One of them wore black armor and watched them through a telescope. Behind him, he heard one of the men walk up next to him. "Megumo, do we strike now?" said the man. Megumo lowered the telescope and continue to look at Telmar. He shook his head and spoke in a low voice. "No," he said, "We wait til they are on the road. Then we strike and massacre our target.". Megumo moved her Marchhound and began to walk through the men, causing them to follow him back into the woods

Title: Chapter One: The Journey

*A few days later, the citizens of Telmar had left their kingdom. Many brought a wagon full of their possessions but some only brought what they could carry. Amongst the group however, many had grown weary of the forest and what followed them in the shadows. The night before they left, some people had complained of hearing howling wolves in the distance but no one took stalk in it. But as they began to venture deeper and deeper into the woods, certain things became more terrifying.... like the sight of smoke nearby.*

Both armies move outside of the line, boxing in the citizens in the middle of the line. Sage rides up near the front of the line, while both Gwen and Irida lead the line. None of them have to mention how suspicious they are of the smoke, but they don't point it out, for the fear of causing panic amongst the group.

Irida's gaze travels from the smoke over to Gwen, who was obviously distracted by the smoke. "Get your bow out and ready" she commands. Her voice was soft, meant only to be heard by Gwen. Irida had requested that Rose and Freya ride up near the front of the line, something she was glad of doing now. "You remember the way to the kingdom right?" She asks the two. "One of you should lead the way, I'm going to scout ahead, one of you should follow." She turns to Gwen, her gaze sharpening. "If anything happens, be prepared, I expect that you'll know what to do." Gwen gulps, then nods, showing that she understood.

As promised, Irida rides on ahead, then cuts off towards the smoke. But she doesn't head directly towards it, rather, close to it, she is careful to stay a safe distance away.

Leaf, Blossom, and Star had only decided to pack whatever they could carry, given that they would eventually return at some point. Or at least that's what they had hoped for. Star had a small kit for on-the-go sword fixing, Blossom and Leaf had their medical bags filled to nearly the point of busting with medical herbs and products. Leaf, however, had one more thing, a scrapbook of herbs not just for medical purposes, but also for edible plants as well. The book was heavily detailed on the smallest detail, where and when the flower grew, what it looked like, all of its uses.

As the group walked Leaf kept looking at the smoke they would spot on the occasion, Star, sensing her unease, gently gripped her hand as if to support her.

*Neither Maddy nor Tani had spoken to one another since their fight. They both just sadly walked along with the crowd. But as they grew closer to their destination, Maddy recognized the wolf cries in the distance. They were the Marchhounds. Suddenly, she felt her wagon stop and looked out. She saw Barry and began to speak* Hey Barry, what's happening? Why did we stop?
