Echo kneels by Coraline, silent tears streaming down her head. She tucks a strand of Coraline’s “hair” to the side, before gently placing a sort of shiny object in her palm. She grips her blade, and her eyes harden. She raises the knife, and in a flash of an eye, blood splatters. It is then, they realise, that Echo just cut off her pinky. She then walks over to the Ox Man, and furiously begins stabbing, carving horrible pictures into his skin, as she seems to go insane, smiling maniacally. Echo is very affected by the death, and something seems to be wrong. Her insanity is now more prominent than ever, and needs to be calmed down.

Gently dropping Coraline to the ground, Charlie leaves her be in the hopes that Rita can heal her and that Bella can say her final goodbye.
Her heart shatters for Bella. Charlie holds her bloodstained hands to her face and crouches by Echo. She holds back a sob, lowering a hand delicately to her mouth and putting her other hand on Echo's shoulders. "Snap out of it. I need the real Echo back, the intelligent sarcastic one. Echo, come back to us." Charlie tells her calmly, despite her heartbreak.

Echo turns her head to Charlie, nearly getting whiplash. Her eyes are glowing a deep blood red, swirling pools of danger. Everything seems to darken, as the shadows seem to react to their mistress’s calls. Echo stiffens, before calming down, her long, sharp, shadowy claws disappearing. When she next speaks, her voice is slightly hoarse. “Ok...okay. But I want revenge, otherwise I’ll go insane.” Echo mumbles.

Rita was trying her best to patch up Coraline's wounds but it was clear that the cyan Inkling was losing way too much blood too quickly. The metal bars had lowered at the Ox boy's cannon allowing Bella to freely rush over to Coraline's side and hold her hand as if this would be enough to keep Coraline alive.

Then Ellie knelt next to Rita her eyes had a slightly glossy look to them as she gently rested her hand on Coraline's wound. This started to give off a faint reddish glow and heal. It would appear that Ellie's powers were developing and quickly. The wound started to patch up, whatever internal damage had happed was reversed and eventually fixed, saving Coraline's life. When Coraline was healed she hadn't woken up, probably stuck in a sort of coma, but at least she was alive, the steady heartbeat confirming this.

Lucky had watched the whole thing gone down and this was the last straw. Her poor baby sister. Lucky turned to a handful of Inklings and Octolings with Splatrollers and nodded. It was time.

Jacovin jolted, hearing the blast of a creeper echoing from the tunnel. "Liali, stay." The wolf was hesitant, but did as she was told. Grabbing his sword, Jacovin charged down the tunnel. A few moments passed, then he found himself in a grim scene. Summoning a blast of kinetic energy, he separated Rui from the Zombie, and set Rui down as gently as he could behind him. The zombie was not so fortunate. For two seconds, it was jerked horrifically around the cave, eventually splitting in half before flying into the darkness and vanishing from view. After a few moments, Jacovin turned to look at Rui. "Why aren't there torches placed down here? I told you, down on the right, up on the left." His eyes had turned a glassy white. There were torches here. But he couldn't see them.

Chelsea nodded, then smiled a little smile. "At least you're here, though. That's what's important. I can go out hunting every now and then if we run out of food. And the water down there," she nodded towards the small hole in the floor nearby, "is clean enough to drink. I'm not sure where it's coming from, but it doesn't seem to run out."

Rui was momentarily wiped out from her injuries, only having her consciousness return after some time after Jacovin’s question. She could hardly see or think straight, and she could barely move. She looked around for any sign of danger, but they were gone. “What...” she asked weakly, raising her head to look at Jacovin. Her eyes landed on his, causing her to jump away from him and let out a loud gasp. His eyes... they weren’t like that before... right?

Akiro's eyes went to the hole, and he nodded. It seemed like this was the perfect place to hole up, at least for now. He continued gazing around the room, and it seemed to impress him. "The traps are preety sound, I'd never be able to rig something like that, being an alley rat." It was a term he had coined for himself from one of the many nicknames, some more colorful then others, he had earned. He did realize that hiding might mean eventually, the Capitol might draw them both out. "Are you worried the Capitol might do something, to draw us out? Wouldn't be exciting if they couldn't see us," he said with a hint of anger, mostly worry for Chelsea, less for himself.

Jacovin sighed, then pulled an unlit torch from his side. After a moment, he set it down and scratched a rock against the ground. Sparks flew, igniting the torch quickly. The sound of the fire seemed to wake him up a bit. He froze, then reached down slowly and grabbed the base of the torch. Holding it up in front of his face, he went quiet. Stepping past Rui, he carefully hurried up the stairs.

Chelsea shrugged. "I think we'll be able to take care of whatever comes our way. If they want excitement, they can look for that one large boy.. Did you see him? He was massive! Like an ox decided to stand on two legs." She sighed, then laid back and stretched out on the tiles, groaning a little as her back popped a bit. "As long as we stay quiet enough, we'll probably be fine. If anybody tries to come in, though... Well, the aftermath might draw some attention."

Akiro fiddled with the water bottle in his hand, staring straight forward. There was nothing else to say, not that he could think of. Normally, he would've been much more nervous, but he was too tired to care. He wasn't passing out, now that he had eaten and drank some, he had more energy. It was more exhaustion from walking for almost an entire day, only now sitting down to properly rest. He could feel his eyelids drifting, but out of habit, he forced them open. Akiro never was a good sleeper, having to always stay on his guard. Maybe that was why he was such a wreck.

After recovering from her shock, Rui tried to stand up to follow him, but she was almost too weak to do so. She had to climb up the wall just so she could stand on her feet. Moving around was even more difficult, requiring strength she didn’t have at the moment. She still tried to press on, taking one slow and shaky step after another towards the stairs. After a while, she had finally made it, allowing her to see what was going on with Jacovin.

Chelsea looked rather fondly towards Akiro, then patted the stones next to her. "You need some rest. I'll wake up if anything seems off. I'm a light sleeper." She rolled onto her side and beckoned towards Akiro again, waiting for him to come lay down. Despite her focus on him, her ears were waiting for the most silent trigger, the sound of footsteps above. Still, her eyes remained on Akiro.

Jacovin was sitting quietly, the torch now extinguished at his feet. His right hand was held in front of his face, opening and closing slowly. He didn't seem to notice Rui, even when her feet scuffed on the stone of the tunnel. Liali sat by his side, whining quietly.

He yawned loudly as he was about to say otherwise. "Guess I am preety tired," he said quietly, moving beside her and shifting the pack so that it was beneath his head, keeping it propped up. He rolled onto his side, his back to her, and his eyes quickly closed. He didn't know why, but he trusted her better then the few others he had encountered. Even if she betrayed him, it wasn't like he cared much anymore.

Chelsea smiled, then stretched out on the stones again. Clasping her hands over her bely, she closed her eyes and let the gentle embrace of sleep take her. However, the sleep was still light. She could hear everything, from the gentle winds blowing above, to the dripping water below. It was calming, though not calming enough. A small sliver of her mind was bristling, waiting for footsteps to sound. It was prepared to wake up everything, if needed.

The same day-nightmare resumed, with Akiro feeling as if he were falling. He hadn't expected this, and was even more terrified, his body tensing as he slept. He couldn't stop falling, until he landed in what looked like a huge room filled with books. A library? That voice was nowhere to be found, but as he walked forward, the books started opening and closing, high pitched voices that sounded vaugely like the boys who had beat him up year after year laughing, saying that he was all alone, and no one would come to save him. The shadows formed into something, that protected him for a minute, but he couldn't tell what it was as it dissapitated just as quickly. The voices were so loud, and he was starting to panic, outside of his dream, Akiro was breathing heavily, and his shoulders shook with fear.

The sliver of mind reacted, sending Chelsea into a state of awareness. She listened, hearing only Akiro's breathing. Looking over at him, she frowned. He was covered in sweat, his shoulders shaking violently. Sitting up, she rested a gentle hand on his shoulder, whispering to him. "Akiro.. Akiro, wake up. You're having a bad dream is all. Please, Akiro."

She still had all her weight against the wall, but she was still managing. She looked over at the whining Laili, then over to him. “What... happened?” She cautiously asked, like she was afraid she was asking a sensitive question. She wasn’t sure what was going on, but she felt like it was all her fault. If she hadn’t gone down there, none of this would’ve happened.

The books were opening wider, hands started coming out of them and grabbing him before he could react. They were going to- "KILL ME!" Akiro screamed, sitting straight up. His eyes were still wide, and he was still shaking. He looked over and realized where he was, that he was awake. He buried his face in his hands. "I'm-I'm sorry Chelsea, I shouldn't have screamed like that. Why were the memories coming back to haunt him? Why was this happening now?

Chelsea sighed, glad that Akiro was awake at least. Wrapping her arms around him, she pulled him to her and held tight, rapidly recovering from Akiro's sudden outburst. "I'm not sure what dreams you're having," she said from over his shoulder. "But they're only dreams, alright?" She let go, holding him at arm's length. Then, after a moment, she leaned forwards, resting her forehead against his. "We'll get through this together, Akiro. You and I. We'll make it."

"I thought it might be like this. I'd enter the arena and lose one thing after the other. What's your name?" He didn't turn his head, but the question was clearly directed towards Rui. Liali whined again, only finding a little comfort in Jacovin's resting his hand on her head. Still, Jacovin didn't turn his head, even to look at Liali. He remained dead silent after asking the question, only waiting for an answer.

Akiro was trying really, really hard not to cry. That nightmare had been even more terrifying than the last, and he didn't doubt that they would continue to get worse, like he was diving into a horror world each time he fell asleep, or even drifted. That thought made him terrified to try and sleep again. The other reason that he was holding back tears was because it was hard to believe that Chelsea actually cared. Obviously, she did, but why couldn't he accept that? His shoulders stopped shaking, and he took a slow and hesitant breath. "Even if they are just dreams," he croaked, "They're terrifying and I..I don't' want to fall asleep again." He knew he'd have to eventually, but he didn't want to go back to that.

Chelsea smiled a sad smile, then whispered, "If you can help it, I think a dream about us would be better than a nightmare." Her words were soft and sweet, as if she were taking to somebody who only held the highest place in her heart. In all reality, she was. Chelsea wanted to kiss him, to tell him everything would be alright, and that they were safe with each other. But... She wasn't sure how to. For once, she was the one left speechless. She was the one being tied up and held, even if it was willingly tying herself.
