MineGames 2.0
Forum-Index → Roleplay → MineGames 2.0A long time ago in the world of Minecraft things were good. Peace and harmony ruled and people could go about their business but then came the war that nearly wiped out humanity. In order to maintain the hard-earned peace, 12 boys and 12 girls, called Tributes, are put in an outdoor arena where they remain to compete in a nationally televised event called the MineGames. The rules are simple: Keep the audience entertained and stay alive by any means necessary. Every citizen must watch as the youths fight for survival against death until only one remains or a full year has passed.
However, even as the citizens obey the whims of the Capital
Your job is to survive the Games for as long as you can in hopes of escape. But even if you do, can you survive the Horrors within the Capital?
"This year on the 225th annual MineGames, as a reminder of the sacrifices made by the soldiers, there will be three times the total tributes. (Tributes are tripled)"
It was a warm day in July, almost too warm for one's comfort. People were getting ready to head to the town hall for the MineGames "Selection" would take place.
Ellie was sitting on the porch steps of her house in her normal garb, Cream, her female Eevee was laying beside her dozing in the morning sun.
Rita was helping her younger sister get ready for the "Selection" as it was called, Rita called it a death sentence.

Rui woke up the same way she would every other day, finding herself in the cold, dark, and quiet room that she had learned to call home. Well... at least she had decent living conditions and barely enough food, but why couldn’t she live a normal life? Maybe she was just being selfish... At least she wasn’t killed, or even worse, kept like a wild animal only to be hated by the public. At least she finally had the chance to do something after all these years... Her parents didn’t care about her decision much, they just wanted her gone. She didn’t know what was worse, knowing that’s what they really wanted or the fact that they tried to pretend to love her. Either way she didn’t care...
"It's -insert early time- in the morning! How are you already drinking!?" Charlie asks in bewildered. She throws her pillow at the door, even though that won't do anything and lays back down on the mattress. "You know, for all the work I do, you'd think he would give me a better apartment to live in." Charlie mumbles.
Today was the day, and she wasn't ready. She shuts her eyes, and listens to her clock. Tick toc, tick toc... each second seemed to fly by. She didn't have a lot of time. She would have to go to work soon. Beeeep! Her alarm screeches. Alarmed, Charlie punches the clock, grunting in pain. She watches the clock fly across the room and come to a halt on the floor.
That's right. Today wasn't a normal day. Today, Charlie was going to do the scariest thing of her life. Join the Games! She breaths an annoyed breath out of her nose and gets ready. She is careful to wear her same attire, and wear the patch that shows her gang's symbol. A flaming dollar sign. They were known to attack even the mightiest foes, no matter how powerful.
Fixing her hat and cloth mask, she checks her reflection. She looked... Well... Not normal, scary, thugish? How many more negative describing words would she need? It was perfect. With that, she confidently strides out of her apartment and to the town hall. Even old Douglas is smart enough to ignore her.

"ExcUSE ME!" Katana shouts at her servant, who was busy adjusting Katana's dress. She would be d*mned if she didn't look her best for the Reaping and her foolish servant was already runing it. "What is this!?" She growls. Picking at the smallest tear on her sleeve.
"I'm sorry, I'll get that fixed right away ma'am" the servant calmly replies.
"No!" Katana screams. She grabs the servant's head and presses her thumbs against her temples. "Do you know who I am!? Do you know what I can do!? I should just-"
"That's enough Katana!" Her father demands. "Thank you Mary, you can go now." Her father tells her servant, who quickly races out the door. The two stand in silence. Katana bristled and ready to attack, her father. Calmly standing in her doorway. The almost seem to be sizing eachother up.
"I'm sorry, I'm just nervous. What if I don't get picked? Will I still have my place in the business? I'm loyal! You can make an acception for me!" Katana, in her fear, didn't realize her voice was raising.
"Stop" her father snaps so sharply, Katana flinches. "You know the rules Katana. You better be picked this year and you better win-..." He pauses. "...And you will, I trained you well. Good luck." He coldly leaves without looking back. Not that Katana cared, she was use to her family's coldness. She was use to their lack of affection. To her, and her family, affection meant showing weakness. They weren't that weak, they would never submit to foolish human instincts. She turns to her reflection, beaming into the mirror.
"I can't worry anyway, that'll make me wrinkle." Katana mumbles, pressing a hand to her cheek. "I'll be picked... I'll win" she whispers. With her newfound confidence, the leaves the house and heads to town hall.
In a different part of the town, then Inklings and Octolings were having a final turf war before the MineGames started. Many crowded in the stands to watch the final turf war before hell started. Bella was perched among the others, watching with excitement in her eyes.
Coraline rose up from the cyan-colored spawn she shook the ink out of her face as the rest of her team. She was on the left wielding her trusty splat dualies. Next to her was the twins Bo and Arti, both of them wielding their splat rollers, the last member was Slyder holding his trusty slosher. Her eyes scanned the arena, the famous Port Mackrel. She dug her feet into the spawn pad as she readied to fight, ready to ink as much turf as she could. A whistle blast went off and her team spread out, only Arti remained to cover their home turf in cyan. Taking the path to the right she set to work, using her splat dualies to cover the floor. As the precious time ticked away Coraline turned around in time to see someone from the yellow team try to jump her, only for Slyder to nail him with Cyan. With the yellow INkling splatted and out o the way Coraline gave a node and charged forward.
Then she heard it, they were down to the last minute, she could tell by the change in music. Putting everything into it she weaved and ducked around the three members of yellow that attempted to take her down. Then she got a glint in her eye, the tank beeped, indicating that her Tenta missiles were ready. The three members of the opsing team darted away in different directions, but Coraline pulled them out, aimed, and fired.
10. 9.
The team yellow leader managed to trap Coraline in a corner, Coraline's heart seemed to pound in sync with the final ten seconds. The two fired at each other and dogged each other's attacks. He was using a paintbrush. He was good, she'd give him that. Just as the Yellow inkling seemed to have her she managed to land the final blow, spaltting him. Not waisting any time she quickly covered the yellow ink-

A sharp whistle blew and everyone froze.
"Time's up!" Pearl's voice echoed from the speakers. "And the winner is. . ."
Coraline looked up with bated breath, did they do it?
Marina's cheery voice reverberated from the speakers. "Team Cyan! Congrats!"

Rita came out of the house a short time later wearing a simple cream-colored dress a white eye patch was covering Rita's left eye
(for those of you who don't know what a turf war is or what it looks like. 0:00 - 3:47)
"Hey!" Katana shouts. Childishly stomping her foot on the ground. "What do you think you are doing!? Do you even know who I am?" She reaches a hand forward, her fingertips starting to feel warm as she considered using her power on the two of them. No, I can't! I don't want to ruin my dress even more than it currently is! Katana thinks to herself fearfully. She lowers her hand to her side and shuts her eyes, taking a calming breath. "My apologies" she says sweetly, but it's obviously forced. "I shouldn't waste my time with low lives like you. Think before you act next time, mm'kay?" She asks condescendingly.
Scarlet was resting her head on Rita's shoulder, her brown hair was pulled back into a high bun as she blinked her green eyes at her, she slightly tightened her grip on Rita's arm.
(reading this looks really weird.)

"Now, it's time to see who is stronger. Fight!" Her father demands.
"No!" Her brother, who was ten, shouts. "I won't hurt my sister!"
"You don't need to worry about me! I can handle your hits!" Katana assures. She extends a hand, fire exploding between them. But Milo saw it coming. He jumps out of range just in time.
"Katana stop! You don't understand what father is making us do...Why he is making us do this!" But Katana didn't listen. She continues fighting. But with every explosion, she grew more tired, and Milo got closer. He continued his pursuit, until he stood in front of her. "Now you can't do anything. You'll hurt us both if you try." Milo tells her calmly. Beads of sweat dripping down his brow as he looked at her with desperation.
"Good job! Very calculating! Now finish her!" Her father hisses.
"No!" Milo shouts again. "I won't hurt her, I won't ever hurt her!" He turns to her father, his fists clenched. "I would sooner fight you!"
"Is that so? Would that really be a smart decision on your part?" Her father asks in amusement. Milo stands in place, silently sizing up the situation.
"Smart? No, it wouldn't be. But it would be worth it, if it means protecting her." With those final words he strolls out of the room. Ignoring her father's enraged shouts.
No, she knew nothing about that. She would never protect anyone but herself and the company. That's what mattered after all. Caring for others made you weak. Just like her brother. That's why she was going to work at the company instead of him. They would never understand...
With a huff she continues her pursuit to Town Hall. Those kids distracted her, she needed her mind back in the game. She would win these Games and claim her position in the business!

"Ellie Ashbroke." Ellie's Eevee made a cry of complaint from her trainer's shoulder
"Coraline Spatterhawk." "Bella." Bella nearly burst into tears while Coraline stood there numbly.
"Scarlet Sunlow." Scarlet looked terrified, but Rita stepped in front of her.
"I volunteer." Scarlet let out a cry of alarm and tried to hold her back, but with the dead done the Peacekeepers marched towards her. Rita gave Scarlet a kiss on the forehead before allowing herself to be ushered up.
"Katana Lozano" the mayor read calmly.
"YES!" Katana shouts, which caused the people around her to look at her with alarm, then roll their eyes when they remember that she was a Lozano. She excitedly strolls to the stage. Then reminds herself that she has to intimate her opponents. So she swipes away her excitement and instead glares at her opponents.
...
Charlie raises her gaze to the strange girl who seemed a bit too overjoyed to be chosen for such a task. She lowers her head, smiling to herself for a moment. She should volunteer for her, just to p*ss her off. Her opportunity was missed when a new name is drawn. This time it's a young girl, who looked to be twelve. Tears fill her wide eyes and immediately tries to run. But the Peacekeepers have no problem wrestling the scrawny girl onstage. She stands no chance, that was clear.
Charlie raises a hand in the air, her cold gaze landing on the mayor.
"Oh? Do we have a volunteer?" The mayor asks, looking confused by her silence. She answers his question by strolling onstage. She pats the young girl's shoulder on the way up, a small smile in her eyes. The young girl and her mother thank Charlie, which she mostly ignores. When they are finished, Charlie calmly stands onstage and tries her best to ignore the others.
