Having not expected a hug, Kayda stiffens slightly before relaxing into it. How long has it been since she someone comforted her like this? Seven years ago... Kayda shakes away the realization and instead answers the question. "Well, I know better than anyone not to pressure those kinds of things. When you wish to tell me about it, I know I you will." Kayda can't help but be shocked by the fact that he had hugged her. Was it really only a short time ago that they were both ready to fight eachother? The reminder of that was heartbreaking, all it did was remind her of why they were here. How was she supposed to kill him? To kill anyone? The answer was simple, she wouldn't be able to. How did the saying go? She was royally screwed.

Tenacity chuckled a little bit. "Oh, whatever happened to that girl I knew so long ago? She's changed, she's changed indeed. From bloody knuckles to teary eyes?" A half smile worked its way across his face. He was embarrassed, that was clear by the red across his nose and cheeks. However, he was attempting to wiggle his way out of letting Kayda see him like that by using a bit of comedy. Or an attempt at comedy. Either way, he nonetheless tried. Silently, Tenacity begged Kayda not to look up any time soon.

To the luck of Tenacity, Kayda doesn't look up. She seems completely unaware that he is desperately doing anything he can to keep her distracted long enough for him to regain his composure.
"Oh, she's still there, trust me" Kayda replies as she leans back against the wall again. "While our interaction may have calmed the raging flames in my heart, it didn't completely snuff them out. Let's just say... My target has changed a bit" she seems to stare off into space, quietly forming a plan in her head. She may not be able to harm the other tributes, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to hurt anyone along the way. Her dangerous self was still here, curled up like a snake, ready to strike. Ultimately, she simply had bigger fish to fry. She would have to focus her attention on the real monsters here: the Peacemakers and the governmental figures that put them in this situation in the first place.
She can't help but smile at this plan. She was talking about an impossible feat here. There were too many enemies, all incredibly strong and protected. Still, somebody had to try, and who would be better than Kayda? She had nothing to lose. Besides, the Peacemakers would likely expect trouble from her anyway.

"I'm not sure if I like that tone or not." Stepping back, Tenacity looked at Kayda carefully. A slow grin appeared, his voice quiet. "What are you plotting?" It didn't take much for Tenacity to read somebody, even without the dead eye. In all reality, he could read people like books simply by glancing at their body language. But when somebody spoke, a tone could give them away. And Kayda had a tone that said she was coming up with something, the kind of tone you find yourself using when discussing how you're going to grab cookies while your sibling distracts mom. Tenacity, in this situation, felt like the sibling suddenly.

Was Kayda really that easy to read? She stares at Tenacity, trying to decide whenever or not she should bring him into this mess of a plan. He did already show that he could be trustworthy and he was more than strong enough to help her. What's the worst that can happen? "My plan? It's simple but dangerous. I am going to make things difficult for the Gamemakers. Do exactly what they'll expect- cause trouble. They are going to regret having my name be picked for the Minegames."

A bigger boy, eight-teen that was built like an ox and easily cleared six feet, with a simple flip of his wrist Coraline's food and plate toppled from her hand to the floor. Coraline glanced up at him, a chill shot down her back as he grinned down at her. "You should stay out of the way shrimp, or did no one teach and Inkling like you some manners?"

All Coraline could do was stare up at him. Silence.

He chuckled and cracked his knuckles as he prepared for a fight. "I take that as a no. Shall we get started?"

"Shall we get started?"

Coraline's eyes widened as she took a step back from the boy, her mind flashing back to that same sentence from another time. One of pain and misery.

Two armed guards were leading a prisoner down a long hallway, one hand on either of the shoulders of their prisoner. As they escorted her to another test. Even if she wanted to run, she couldn't get far, not with the straight jacket holding her arms in place. She didn't want to be here, she wanted to be at home with her mother.

Two dark eyes darted around, bags formed under the slightly blackened marks under her eyes that were markings of her being part Inkling despite her mostly human appearance. Her hair mostly resembles a human's as well, though it was clear that she still had tentacles for hair, which also doubled as extra hands when needed.

They opened the door at the end of the hall with a squeaky creak. One of the guards roughly shoved her in the room and the door was shut behind her. A machine ripped off her straight jacket, but then it forced her into a chair where she was restrained by her wrists and ankles, someone was already waiting for her. She stared up at the man as he held a palate of colors in his hand and a simple paintbrush. Admittedly it was a laughable form of punishment if any, for anyone else. For Inklings or Octolings, touching ink or even paint that wasn't your color directly was painful. Everyone knew that, even humans.

"I-bew-wew-squee-weew!"

"So you are one of them after all," the man mused as he watched Coraline squirm under his gaze. "Well then, shall we get started?" He dipped the paintbrush in the color red and let the color drip on the palate.

"Sam-myooh!" (Help me!) Coraline's cries were ignored as he pressed the paintbrush and red ink onto her bare arm.

The blood-curdling scream of pain and agony burst from Coraline and it echoed around the room.

"Trouble is good. As I said, your embarrassment is not theirs to cause. So embarrass them. Clever girl." He grinned, then frowned and turned as a plate clattered to the ground behind him. A boy built similarly to himself was standing before another tribute, a plate of food spread across the ground. His eye picked out a few defining factors that were both worrisome and advantageous. Colored hair, no sign of dye. Cyan, defines tribute as Inkling or Octoling. Aggressor? Tall, wide, strong... But more than likely very slow. Left food slightly behind, left hand dominant. More powerful swing with shift of weight forwards from left foot, allows for stunning or killing blows. Headstrong, prideful, confident.. Cocky, easily believes victim is weak. She might be, yet to be determined. This will end in a premature death if no intervention appears. A moment blipped past. Then, Tenacity flared his wings slightly and approached slowly. "Pardon me, but the young lady was attempting to retrieve sustenance. If you would be so kind as to step aside and allow her to eat, that would be very kind of you." He spoke quickly, his tone changing rapidly from scheming to falsely clever, his mind plotting out multiple ways this could go. Remove eye patch, dead eye appears blind. Fool aggressor into believing I am half blind, surprise him with an attack if needed. Death's touch..? .... Not required. The eye patch was removed quickly, shoved in a pocket moments later. Putting on a kind smile, Tenacity focused his attention on the enormous boy before him.

Tenacity had reacted before Kayda could. A part of her was glad. This giant was huge! She may be a skilled fighter, but her skills are rendered useless against someone of his size. His safe punching distance would be her safe kicking! But would Tenacity be okay? She turns her attention away from the two boys to access Coraline, who was the victim in this situation. Coraline looked terrified, but not necessarily of the guy. She didn't seem to be paying attention to him at all. Was she lost in thought? She clenches her fists, suddenly feeling angry for her. What a coward... Attacking her like this.
Kayda strolls over to Tenacity's side. Standing next to him, but still a short distance behind. If Tenacity wanted this fight, he could have it. But she was more than willing to back him up if it were needed. She glares at the boy before returning her gaze to Coraline. Kayda seemed to be silently asking if she was okay.

Juno and Petra were mostly just minding their own business. Juno was practicing her training and Petra was just sitting there.

As the boy was having his little confrontation with Tenacity, Coraline felt Kayda's eyes on her, which snapped her out of her "minor" PTSD episode. She shook her head to clear it before just. . .quietly stepping around the plate she'd split and got another. As she set the plate down with one hand, the feeling just worsened, so she did the only thing she could do: flee what she couldn't fight. Her other quickly pulled out one of her Splat Dualies and quickly made a trail of Cyan ink from her spot to her room car. Before anyone could act she quickly snatched up her plate, changed into her squid form, disappeared into the ink (note that her plate's kinda just above the ink as that's a thing apparently-), and swam to her room.

The ox of a boy turned, his gaze settling on Tenacity. "What was that?" He spoke slowly, dangerously. His eyes kept switching between the dead eye, and the neutral eye. "I told you that the girl was trying to get food, and that knocking her plate away was rather rude. She's just like you, after all. Only she possesses a brain, a very major evolutionary step that allows a species to be somewhat intelligent." The verbal attack clearly went over the brute's head, a blank expression passing over his face.

Should I follow her? Kayda wonders as she glances at the trail of ink. It would probably be best to at least offer help, if Coraline wishes to be alone then, then Kayda can respect that. But she also wanted to make sure Tenacity would be okay. She turns her attention back to the two and hears the last part just in time. She can't help but burst out laughing at that part. He was witty, that was becoming quite clear to her. Maybe he would be okay alone.

After the longest moment of hesitation, Kayda went to check in on Coraline, only to find that the floor of Coraline's room was covered in Cyan ink (no it won't hurt, it might slow you down because it's slippery but other then that idk). The plate was occasionally picked at but mostly Coraline in squid form was zooming around in the ink on the floor in an attempt to calm down.

It was pretty clear she wasn't okay.

Megami was quiet, and by herself. She was very tried but too scared to sleep. She twists a lock of her hair around her finger over and over again. She knows no one. And that's a problem. She needs allies. She needs friends. She needs enemies as well. She didn't know how to get any of that.

"Don't let that brute bother you" Kayda tells Coraline without looking at her. Instead, she was watching Megami carefully, obviously trying to decide whenever or not she was a threat. Deciding that she wasn't a threat, she simply gives Megami a curt nod of greeting before turning her attention back to Megami. "I'm not really good at this kind of stuff, is there anything I can do?" Kayda asks. Normally she would offer to beat up the person, but that was definitely not going to happen.

Coraline poked her head above the puddle of ink she was in, giving a clear image of her half cyan spattered face, as well as the fact that she was in her inkling form. "Ahns-spoargh?"
