There is a civilization here due to but one thing: What the people call "Traits". It may not sound like much, but this civilization has advanced as much as we have in half of the time. It was only a week ago, however, when amber alerts started blaring, announcements suggesting you turn on your television sets to channel sixteen- The news channel. The news was big, as a new mass of land has risen, somehow not changing the sea level at all. Nothing was known about the place, and at first, governments tried to keep their citizens away. Eventually, they could not, and thousands of exploratory teams traveled to the new land mass, which was titled "Emenate." About a month later, only five returned.
You have decided that you would like to go, despite the dangers. You're thinking of bringing your friends, but also of trying to meet more people, new people to bring along.
A Trait is an ability that one is born with. It cannot be switched, changed, or tampered with. It's built into their mind, their life, their soul. The people believed that these traits came from a higher being, a god if you will. The called this being the Apex, as it held all of the possible Traits.

Bloodrage:

A person with the Bloodrage trait goes into a state of power when they either shed blood.. Or taste blood. They grow stronger and faster, but their logical thinking and vision diminishes. Usually, vision fades to red and all train of thought is lost to the thought of 'Kill, survive,' leaving a person in a Bloodrage highly dangerous and hard to communicate with. These people tend to be the physically strongest of the group.
Deadeye:

A person with the Deadeye Trait is highly accurate with any ranged weapon, whether it be a bow and arrow, a rifle, or even a javelin. They maintain all senses, although after time, their non-dominant eye goes blind, the pupil expanding in four ways to make an 'X' in the middle of their eye, thus leaving them vulnerable to attack from that side. These people tend to be the physically weakest of the bunch.
Bloodseeker:

Somebody with the Bloodseeker Trait can quite literally smell blood... And follow it. they make excellent trackers, but their senses can be overwhelmed in crowds, making it hard to track just one person in urban areas. These people tend to be quick and lean, but not exactly physically weak.
Hypersensitive:

If someone has the Hypersensitive Trait, they are ultra-aware of everything going on around them. They turn their heads to everything that makes a sound or a subtle movement, and their nerves detect even the slightest touch. To go with this, however, somebody with the Hypersensitive Trait are also very nervous, often fiddling with something or chewing their nails. These tend to be the physically smallest of the bunch, but not always the weakest.
Intellect:

For somebody with the Intellect Trait, ideas come easy to them. They have a heightened intelligence, and they are perfect strategists. Their reaction speed is also quite fast. However, the Intellect Traits tend to be the weakest of the bunch.
