Garrick didn't respond to Eura or acknowledge that he heard her and simply got ready to follow the group to the library.

Marina yawned and nodded. "Cocoa?" she asked, "Why are you nice to us when all the other scientists would rather slit our throats?"

"I don't know," Cocoa said, looking at Marina. "I could be mean if I really wanted to, I guess. It just doesn't seem right. I'm not driven by fear or disgust when I study angels and demons, I'm driven by pure curiosity, and that probably makes me nicer." She paused, thinking about it. "I've also been here a lot longer than everyone else, since I was one of the original scientists. I've spent a lot more time one on one with the subjects, and it makes them seem more... alive, I suppose. Less like animals or something."

Taura sighed. Animals shouldn't be treated like this either, she thought. She tried to imagine animals freely roaming the land out in nature, her too, and there being no creature, no angel, no demon, no anything, trapped and placed in cells.

She continued walking, hoping the library was more cheerful and open than the rest of this place

Garrick plopped down at a table and put his head down, falling back asleep almost immediately afterwards.

Marina quietly and calmly walked through the library, her fingers trailing along the countless books before her. She hadn't picked one up to read yet, though enjoyed reading their titles on the spines.

Cocoa claimed a spot at a table and handed the book back to Chae. "Go put that back and go find something in the foreign language section. Or do you have already have a book in mind?" she said. He nodded, hurrying off to a different section of the library. He'd obviously spent a lot of time there, because he didn't even have to look to tuck the book back where it belonged or pick up the one he wanted. He set down his new selection in front of Cocoa, and she smiled at him. "Really into the poetry recently, huh?"

While Eura had never been an avid reader, she figured now wasn't a bad time to start.

She browsed a selection of science fiction until she picked up one that looked particularly interesting, a futuristic society in which everyone lived inside of a program created by virtual reality. "Poetry's all fine and good when you understand it," Eura hummed absentmindedly. "I never could."
