It actually shouldn't be possible to give a forum thread an empty
title (try it out - you'll see that it will tell you "Please enter
a thread title!", even if you put a bunch of spaces). I don't know
what the user inserted, I'm guessing some special character that
the server 'allows' but is then displays as no-character on the
browser?
Unfortunately hard to find out now that the title has been changed
:D
Alright, turned the title back, so you can check.
[It's ALT-code, maybe that'll help you figure out a solution?]
Moved to 'confirmed', instead of 'solved'.

Ah I see. Well, yes, apparently thes used Alt+255, which is a blank
space - but technically not the same as a regular space. This
character is not considered a forbidden character by our engine;
and it's also not possible to change that.
Can't you just use the same filter like you use for changing your
username? Maybe change it slightly?
Or make it so that the title has to be at least 4 non-special
characters long, which you also can count with the filter mentioned
above.
This recently happened again in fanarts. It was solved, but the
forums were given stock titles like [INSERT TITLE HERE]
That's what it was, square brackets and all.
