BANNER CONTEST!!!

That's right, it's time for another contest! I noticed that we don't seem to have many members yet, so I reckon we need to do some advertising. This contest is all about making a banner to show off in our signatures and attract more people to the Cache Hunters club and geocaching.

The Challenge

Make a banner for our club that relates to geocaching and the Cache Hunters. This banner will be available for use in the signatures of the members of this club.

The Rules

- NO ART THEFT IS TOLERATED AT ALL. Clear? Good.

- The art can be either traditional or digital, but if it is traditional it needs to be scanned/photographed in good quality so the picture is clear.

- There are no size requirements, but keep in mind that the banners are for use in signatures. A banner that fits a signature nicely without the need to scroll will be judged higher than one that doesn't. On the form, where it asks if you read all the rules, you need to write the word "affirmative".

- The words "Cache Hunters" must be included somewhere on the banner.

- You are allowed to watermark or sign your banner in some way, but please do not make it too overbearing.

- The judges decision is final.

The Judges

There will be 3 judges including myself. The other 2 judges are yet to be confirmed. We will judge your banner on it's relevance to the club/geocaching, how well it stands out, it's suitability for use in a signature, and it's overall design and quality.

The Prizes

There is currently just one prize for first place. If enough people enter then I will add a second and third place prize as well.

First place will get a mystery bag of valuable items.

If you would like to donate a prize, please use the appropriate form from the "form" section of this post.

The Forms

My Entry:
Did you read all of the rules?

JustMe, I would like to donate a prize!
Username:
Donation:
Other Info:(How are you sending the donation etc.)

This contest will finish on 20th November at 23:59 (ph Time)

Good Luck, and have fun! :D

I'm considering it, but I'm holding off until after my Geocaching adventure on Tuesday while I think about ideas for the banner. (Right now all I have in mind is the Geocaching logo... As Signal [is that the right name for the mascot?] is a pain to draw for me, so I'm not drawing him.)

Ok, that's fine. I was just wondering because no-one had posted in a while. Yup, Signal is the name of the little froggy mascot, you can find more info on him here.

Holy cow today was a blast. I got my 50th Geocache! It wound up being the meet and greet that we spent the day to get to, though we hit a bunch of caches along the way :3

My partner's favorite cache of the day is the one that had a little troll keychain in it for her, since she collects them <3

My favorite cache of the day has to be the one that was hidden in a sign. Though I feel a bit bad about the poor frog that had decided to try and live on that cache when I took it out from under the poor thing. Then again, it nearly gave me a heart attack when it moved >.<

The meet and greet was nice as well, even though everyone else was either less than half my age or more than double my age. Everyone older than me welcomed me with open arms, and some of the cachers and I talked for a bit. The scary thing is that, while most of them are half an hour or more away from where I cache, they knew of me from the caches I had found, lol. I introduced myself with my name first, then showed the tag that had my geocaching name, and when they saw the tag, they were like "OH, you're the person who caches in horrible weather all the time, but you find most of them. That's cool."

It was a wonderful event, and I even met one cacher who is in my area. She told us that when we do her caches, be sure to send her a message, since at least one of the caches needs her help to get to it, which was nice of her to tell us.

I'll probably work on the contest entry tomorrow, after I recharge from a busy but fun day. (I also have a collectible that I was given at the MnG that I adore. It's a Wyvern Crest Coin <3)

Ok. Trip over. I think we found 2 caches (one on the site but it wasnt really a cache just a location of a downed aircraft (wings but i suspect the body was further down the hill. This one was a tough one due to us having to leave the trail to find it and almost getting lost in the process

The second one being unofficial due to being too close to another. It was my teachers class had tried to hide last year but failed at making it an official cache

A third one we were looking for in the area we found where it should be but it wasnt there
Help me hatch these eggs or feed the hatchlings

Hey, sorry it's been so long since I've posted! Congratulations on reaching 50 caches Navuso, your badge is on its way. It sounds like you had a fantastic time, meeting up with the other cachers must have been so much fun. I haven't been able to attend any meet and greets yet, there have been none close enough to my area, but it's definitely something I'd love to do.

@Zona, the first "cache" you found, is it officially listed on the website? It's a shame about the third one being missing, but I hope you had fun anyway.

I hope you are all busy working on an entry for our current contest, remember entries close on the 20th of November. Perhaps you need a bit of an incentive, yes? Well then, I will reveal one of the prizes from the mystery bag! And it is...

*overly dramatic drum-roll*

75 nuggets!

Haha, hopefully that will help get the creative juices flowing. :D

I went geocaching today even though the weather wasn't exactly pleasant. I ended up stumbling through forests while it was raining and I managed to get covered in mud later on as well. To top it all off, I ended up almost getting lost after my phone ran out of battery and I was forced to quit for the day.

It was a great day.

I found 5 geocaches, one of which was a mystery. My second mystery ever. Also, my total is 46 caches now. I gotta start figuring out which cache I want to be my 50th. : D

Nessy Mini Contest!

This weekend, I'm hoping to feel better and go caching (and grocery shopping).

I've decided to have a mini contest as well!

First: It ends at reset Sunday (end of day reset).

Prize: Shiny Numel

What you have to do: You (or a stuffed animal/pet you bring with you) have to take a selfie with a cache you find in the next few days!

Post the "selfie" in a feed with a link to the club, and the hashtag #CachingSelfie

(Note: Doesn't have to be you, mine is going to be my Goomy plushie)

A random person (courtesy of random.org) will win the prize.

If you can read this, you know how to read.

Oooh, what a neat contest! I'm not sure if I'll be able to get out caching this weekend, but if I do I'll definitely join in! Good luck with your hunt, Nessy!

I have added a new section to the first post which has links to all the current contest. I'll make a fancy title thingy for it soon...

Nice. I was planning on going to find a cache today anyway.

Also, does it have to be a stuffed animal? I'd like to use this R2-D2 toy I have. :,]

Just figured I'd better be safe than sorry. I'm not really good at figuring out what people mean or don't mean. :,D

Finnish taxidermy is always a great companion.

Since it was raining ALL weekend (in full cats and dogs - it feels like a downpour from the bible) and since finny was the only one to enter(:P), I was wondering if I should extend my contest for another week.

(Of course, I am totally fine with just giving Finny the prize o3o)

If you extend it a few days, I will be able to enter. This Tuesday is going to be the start of my weekly Caching with my mom, so I'll be doing a few caches then. And I'll use Catcha my deer stuffed animal in a few of those pictures. (I got him from a Cache, so I wanted to use him for Cache pictures =3)

We were going to start it two weeks ago, but then I got NayNay (a new cat) and didn't want to leave her alone the day after I got her. Then this past week I was in the woods on Tuesday instead of Caching. So this week will be the start of it, and hopefully it won't get too cold for Caching too soon. (I believe the plan is to hit the trails near one of the towns near by, so that will be a blast =3 Then again, we might hit somewhere else instead, since the trails will suck if it rains tomorrow, as they will be mushy and miserable...)

Accepted! Please edit out your password!

I'm gonna extend the contest until this upcoming sunday btw.

It's still raining here and I want everyone to have a chance. Two days probably wasn't enough anyway O.O"
