@JustMe thanks! I'll keep my eyes open for a PM and I'll check out the contests. I'm also hopefully gonna try and get some more caches tomorrow if I have a chance. I haven't really had time to do much caching because of school and other stuff but hopefully I can get 1 or 2!
EDIT: I made our sister group, The Munzee Club!

Since the only entrants were navu and finny, they both win! (I will message you guys when your prizes are up)

...

I went searching today and found nothing
Walked a mile to a place with a 1 difficulty cache
The comments all said the coordinates were off, but I was not deterred. I searched high anf low. In bushes and trees (in a parking lot) got splinters everywhere.

I think the cache may have accidentally been brought inside.

The fountain statues on the landmark were all inside a building with their bases sticking up naked from the empty fountain.

The part with the cache may have also been brought inside for winterm

Sorry I haven't been around the club much for a while, I've been dealing with some personal stuff, including my cat needing to be put down.

There was only one entry for the banner contest, so I am considering extending it by a week from the original date (so they would be due 27th). Before I do though, is anyone else interested in entering this or should I just end it now?

Are you sure that it's no longer there? If it was archived, then it's not there, but sometimes it seems like a cache isn't there even though it is, especially when you are starting out.

Like one I found was attached to a tree. There was a cable around the tree that looked like where the cache was supposed to go, but it wasn't there. Turns out that there was a different wire, better hidden, that held the cache.

And the one I found for Nessy's mini-contest was one that I looked high and low for for over an hour at the right place, was pretty sure it wasn't there anymore, but when I went back to it, I found it right away. (Just didn't know what to look for being a newbie and all)

Right now I have a cache that bothers me. I know it's there, it was checked on recently (after the place that it references was taken completely apart and rebuilt) and was put back into place. But I have no clue where it is after having spent 5 hours looking around for the cache, lol. And nobody has given any hints to it >.<

Also, keep in mind, if the size is marked as Other, it could be just about anything. One of these that I found was literally a duct tape pouch slid into a sign. (There was a frog on it whom I scared and scared me because when I pulled the cache out, it panicked and was going everywhere in that confined space. When I put the cache back, though, I was really careful not to startle the frog again, lol)

The other sized cache I found today was literally inside a metal bridge railing. (It has 176 favorites so far so I was kinda expecting something neat while heading for it. :p) I also found out there's an observatory not that far from my apartment thanks to my lil' geocaching hobby. The cache I found lying around the observatory was a fairly simple small one hidden under/between/whatever rocks but it still provided excitement since I was able to find it with no problems at all. I was just walking towards the correct area and I immediately spotted the right place since that's where I would have hidden a cache myself. :p

56 finds so far and I'm actually developing some geo-instincts.

Also, my mom has tagged along with my cache searching few times while I visited home. Turns out she would be a great geocacher and an awesome cache hider as well. She's totally natural. (Unfortunately, it's kinda embarrassing when your 'never went geocaching before' -mother finds the cache before you do. :I)

I also found my first and only nano cache a while ago... well, actually my mother found it.

Sorry, I've been really inactive, both in this club and in geocaching. It's starting to get cold where I live, so I can't go out as much. :p Hopefully I can go within a week to a bike path that is >1 mile from my house to get some more caches that are out there.

@Navuso on geocaching.com I can see the cache in the map, but its name is struck-out. And I can't see it on the app. It's a cache from 2011 too, and here in my country people aren't much polite...

Banner Contest Winner

Well, there was only 1 entry, so there's no surprises as to who the winner is...

Navuso!

You have won a mystery bag of items including:
75 nuggets
10,000 pd
1 Splash Plate
100 dp worth of plushies

I am sending your prizes now, please let me know which plushies you would like.

Future Contests

For the few contests we have had so far, there have been hardly any contestants. What I would like to know is what sort of contest you would be interested in entering. Any input would be much appreciated.

Yay! Congratulations! What sort of cache was it? Was it an easy or tricky find?

I haven't been caching in aaaages, I just haven't had the time because of work. But now that I'm on holiday I plan on doing heaps, and also doing some more stuff for the club.

I have plans, so many plans... [insert maniacal laugh here] :P

A micro one, Traditional. It was a 2-star difficult one. But if you have the right coordinates it becomes so easy ^-^

Yay, I got to go caching today! :D

I went for a 3 hour and 40 minute walk, and ended up with 4 out of 5 of the caches that were along the way. They were all out in rural areas, so no muggles around to bother me apart from the occasional tractor driving passed.

I did, however, encounter a swarm of bees which was rather daunting for someone who is allergic. It was huge and went right across the road, and I had nowhere to go except right through it. By some miracle the bees avoided me completely and I didn't get stung at all.

The caches themselves were all in order, apart from the one I missed which I think has been muggled. It was a fairly obvious where it was supposed to be, there was a nice little cache-sized indent right where the clue said it would be. :P

So, my experience got me thinking, has anyone else faced any hazards while caching?

New Challenge!

So, I'm testing out an idea for a new series of challenges to add our club. This is, after all, a geocaching club, so I have been thinking of a way to do some cache-hunting right here on Pokeheroes.

So here's how it works. I have taken a small screenshot of part of an image somewhere on Pokeheroes. All you have to do is find out where it comes from.

Once you have found it, send me a PM to tell me the page and general location on the page of the "cache". For example, "It's on the Index Page, part of the Pelippers beak."

There will be a "First To Find" prize of 10,000pd, and every finder after then will get a small, random prize (a few gems, evolution stone etc...).

Please, no spoilers or hints are to be posted in the forum.

If enough people seem to like the idea, and participate, then I will make more of these at varying degrees of difficulty, and new badges will be added.

So, are you ready for your first PH virtual cache? Well, here it is!

Good luck, and happy hunting!

I was looking but still haven't found it :P

Its a really fun idea but um....

Maybe a hint if no one's found it after 2 days?

I read the hints when actually caching all the time
