Mini Pop-Up Contest!

I am going geocaching for the day, and so I've decided to run a mini contest for the day.

All you have to do is guess how many geocaches I will find.

I will be out looking for approximately 6 hours, with a small break for lunch, and there are around 50 geocaches within walking distance in the area where I will be going.

To enter, post a feed containing these three things:
-Your guess of how many caches I will find.
-The hashtag #CacheHunters
-A link to the Cache Hunters Club

If you leave out any of these things you will not be eligible.

The closest guess will win 10,000pd plus a shiny from my current hunt (Paras)

The contest will end exactly 24 hours from this post.

Good Luck!

I found 7 more caches today, though I didn't find 3 :< Though to be fair, I did not look hard for those three because it was POURING down rain and I got soaked, lol.

One of the Caches was a bone. Like an actual, hollowed out bone with the cache within it. That was pretty awesome. But I have to say that my favorite Cache of the day was hidden behind a reflector on a post. The reflector twisted and behind it was the cache, pretty as it could be.

My least favorite cache of the day would have to be the one that the last person left in the midst of thorns. My mother wound up with her feet bleeding when she went to check it out, and when I got to it, I got pricked a few times :< So I moved that one to a safer place that still fits the description. (It was moved 2 feet away from where the last person left it, and was actually moved closer to the coordinates. And I think it was there before, because of how the ground was where I put it, as it fit perfectly in the bare spot, lol) Now the next person will hopefully not get hurt to check that cache.

I also left only one item today, a pikachu figure in one of the caches. I need to get to work on finishing my images, since they will be able to fit in the micros =D (as a nice surprise for some of the people)

And after finding 13, total, I think my first one should have changed the size of their find from "Micro" to "Nano" because that one is so tiny!

That all said, I hope you find many more than I guessed in my feed, Just Me =D

You don't need to download it, you can visit the website here

It is a world-wide treasure hunt of sorts, where you look up locations (and if you are like me, the hints) and find the cache. You sign in, feeling sucessful, and sometimes exchange small treasures.

It is probably better to explore the site and the little youtube adverts than ask me, since I am more of the "OMG TREASURE HUNT GOTTA CACHE EM ALL!"

To everyone else...I WROTE A SONG

I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To cache them is my real test
To hide them is my cause

Welcome to the club Porygon_Storm & StarStruckPlayzGames! You can edit out your passwords now ;)

Don't forget to check out our first club contest! I have since returned from my cache-hunt, but so that all time zones have a fair chance to participate the contest won't be ending until 29/9/2015 21:35 (server time).

Wow, 13 finds already Navuso! It sounds like you found some really clever ones! The thorn cache sounds nasty though, it's sad that some people spoil it for the others, and from the way you described it sounds like they've done it on purpose too. Well done for relocating it slightly to a safer place, but make sure the owner of the cache knows, just in case ;).

I was out yesterday just searching for caches near my local park and I zoomed in on a particular one, and it looked like it was in someone backyard! I didn't go for it because it was most likely to be in someone's backyard, and two is because I had to be home by 6 PM and I never had time :|. But I did spot an area where a cache might be nearby, and I searched up,down, left, and right, but no cache :|. The last one was by the dog park. It was actually WAY over the fence of the park, so just said, "No. Not Worth it." And as I was walking back, I fell. BUT the ground had these pointy flowers, and left the bottom of my left leg with a small, bleeding scratch. Today, I know 2 that are about 0.2 miles from my house, but the oppisite direction.

Contest Winner

Sorry it's taken me so long to post this, I'm a bit under the weather at the moment so I haven't been online.

The amount of caches I found that day was... 23!

Which means the winner, with the closest guess of 15, is... Navuso!

Congratulations! I will send the pd now, and I will contact you when your shiny hatches.

Thanks to everyone who participated!

Awesome amount found, JustMe. I hope to rival that on the 27th, though :p We're going to do an all day caching hunt in one of the cities before going to a meet n' greet for Geocachers in the area =D

I've also made two calling cards for myself.

Both of them are MUCH larger images, but I shrunk them down for file size for uploading them to here :3 The QR codes are printed off separately so that I can attach them wherever I think looks best.

Right now I've been attaching them to the stuff I'll be dropping into caches, but I plan to make some of them into trinkets/swag for others to collect as well :3 And for the meet n' greet, I plan to have a third image made that'll be given to Geocachers I meet in person.

The swag versions will have plastic around them to keep them safe, then will be turned into a keychain or accessory. Instead of having the QR codes on them, though, they'll just have "Art and design by [email protected]" on them.

I'm really into this <3

Woo!

I'm away from home at the moment, and have dragged my friend into caching with me. Three hours on foot, and about 2 miles from her house, we found one =D

I hope to revisit a dnf that we tried to find, as we were in the dark when looking the first time, lol.

Current total of founds are 23.
10 since my last post, and 7 of those were on the trip to here, lol

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven't been very active for the last few days but I have been working on a fun new addition to our club. All will be revealed in the next few days, hopefully it will add another layer of interest to the club, and maybe even attract some more members!

Zona, I hope the weather clears up for you soon, stay safe in the meantime.

Navuso, did you know there are some people that only go caching at night? There are even some multi and mystery caches that can only be found after sunset.

I found my first multi-cache today. It was at a local park, one of those ones I've been meaning to do for a while but only just got the chance. Each waypoint was near a point of interest of some kind that you had to answer a question about, like "how many flowers are carved into this statue." You then had to use the answers to work out the co-ordinates of the final cache. I loved going around the park with my little notebook, it brought me back to the days when I was a kid and my brother and I use to play spies. We made up secret codes and sent each other on "dangerous" missions, that sort of thing. Ah, the good ol' days. :P

That's right, we now have club badges!

Based on the official Geo-Achievement coins, you can earn these badges by reaching certain cache milestones. Here are the ones you can earn so far:

There will be more added in the future, if you have any ideas for more badges, you can let me know via PM.

So, how do you get your hands on one of these? Simple, once you reach the requirements, just post in this thread or contact me via PM, then I will PM your badge directly to your inbox. :P

Please let me know how many caches you have found so far so I can send out your badges and add your name to the appropriate list.

Badges, eh? That's pretty neat. :3 I currently have 21 finds so I guess I'm a bronze badge citizen.

I've been rather busy with university lately so I haven't had much time for geocaching, which blows but what can you do. Though there is this multicache very near my apartment that I've left alone so far since I figured I should just concentrate on the traditional ones for starters. But I was planning on checking it out today or tomorrow. So any of you have any experiences with multicaches?

I've only done one multi-cache so far, the one I mentioned in a previous post, and it was heaps of fun! There is a huge variety in the types of multi-caches out there. Some require finding information in order to discover the next waypoints, others have an actual cache at each waypoint that contain the info you need to get to the next one. This is where the official app comes in handy because as you figure out each new waypoint, you are ale to enter it in and it shows up on the map.

Good luck with the multi-cache!

Sounds like fun, and I hope you feel better soon.

I've been getting better at the PnGs in the area. I mean, mom and I did a few caches today, and we found 5/6. And the one we didn't find, a lot of people said they had to come back to later on to try again, and it took the third or fourth visit to find it. Also doesn't help that the GPS takes you to the wrong building, lmao.
