Oh yeah, the update. It's pretty great. I really like the little mascot, the narration, and the options to carry on or run away, that was rather clever and cute. :,D

There's a lot of stuff to read in the first post and it can be a lot to take in for a new member but I feel like it's all pretty well organized and it seems less of a wall of text thanks to the spoiler-thingies. It's pretty sweet you decided to add even more of those PH cache. I've been meaning to find the easy ones for starters but I've simply been lazy, I'll get to it eventually. :b

Also, I'm currently planning on going CITO caching on Sunday. I just gotta plan my route and figure out stuff. Anyone here have experiences/advice regarding a full day of geocaching? I've spent a whole day out caching once or twice before but I'm always kinda poorly prepared with only my phone, a pen, and a water bottle or something. :,D

Edit: Oh wait, I'll probably have to go geocaching on Monday instead.

First off, I know I'm doing some evil double-posting here but I figured that since JustMe hasn't replied anything to DarkParkai yet, I'm suspecting she hasn't noticed the very newest posts for some reason. So I figured that if I dropped a new post instead of editing the last, I'd bring this to her attention. (I know I could've just palpadded her or something and I'm being rather illogical...) Or I'm completely wrong about everything and I'm being a moron. In which case, you're free to yell at me or kick me out for my horrid double-posting ways.

Now, onto the thing I actually wanted to write about in here. That is, the Earth Month event JustMe set up quite a while ago. I finally got to it even though my CITO caching day ended up being a lot shorter than I had planned. Because I planned my day and clothing so poorly. If you stalk me, you might've noticed my feeds about it. xD

There was supposed to be pictures so here we go:

I took that while searching for the first cache of the day. I really hadn't done much geocaching after last fall so I was kinda rusty and the GPS wasn't much of a help. So unsurprisingly, it took me a long while to find the cache. I actually took that picture before I did and it later turned out I was pretty much standing almost right beside the cache. I was pretty amused when I eventually found it since it was a pretty simple and "easy" one. :,D

And that, my friends, is the geocacher himself. (Yes, the selfie camera on my phone is that much lousier. :,D) That was taken on what I think was a fishing spot since there were these perfect sitting-stones on a clear-ish patch right on the shore. Pretty much after taking that picture, I spotted a pretty nice geocache-potential place a few meters away and went to investigate. My geo-eyes were correct. :]

I was originally planning on going all the way around a lake and pick up caches along the way during the day. (But I fell slightly short of reaching the halfway point since I'm stupid and don't think ahead. In other words, I picked the wrong shoes and stuff and I should've taken my bike instead of deciding to walk. :b) Anyway, I did quite a lot of walking on nice little trails just by the shore like in the above picture. It was really darn nice until my feet died. :,D

I saw few makeshift "treehouse" thingies like that one along the way by the shore. I'm not quite sure why they're there but I wouldn't climb up there even if you paid me. That thing looks like it might come crashing down even if a skinny five-year-old girl climbed up there. (Okay, I might be persuaded depending on how much I'd get paid. :b) I'm not quite sure why I felt the need to take a photo and show it to you though, I guess I was just amused by them or something. :,]

And that is my loot. Aka. the trash I picked up while I was hunting for geocaches. I was quite pleased with how there wasn't that much trash around for me to pick up. As you can see, that "trashbag" I had is kinda small (I had a second one too) and most of the space is taken up by two crushed soda cans and a third can that someone had ripped apart. Yey for sharp metal in the woods. >:[

And that's all the pictures I have for you fellas. Like said, my journey fell short and I only got to log 4 caches during the day (Sunday). (Which makes my total find-count 64 btw.) I was planning on continuing where I had left off better prepared on Monday but I decided I should let the blisters on my feet heal first. My feet are aaalmost perfectly fine again, blisters included, by now so I could pick up where I left off tomorrow already but I've come to the conclusion that weekends are better days for geocaching. So since my D&D group can't play on Saturday, I'm heading out then. (Or on Sunday again, I gotta check the weather forecast in case there happens to be any difference. :b)

Sorry everyone for taking so long to reply! I've been crazy busy over the last couple of weeks and haven't had much time online.

@DarkParkai, the password is somewhere in the first post. Make sure you read everything carefully.

@Finhawk, Congrats on being the only person to participate in the Earth Month event. A special prize is headed your way, as well as your badge.

@Everyone else. Don't worry if you missed the Earth Month badge, there will be another chance to get it next year!

Speaking of events, if you have any ideas for an event be sure to let me know, either on here or via PM.

I'm hoping to get out for some more caching tomorrow, my count is at 69 at the moment and I really want to get to 70.

@DarkParkai - You don't need to edit your form, but please edit out the password now from your post so that it remains hidden. Your form is now accepted, welcome to the club!

Art Contest!

With the arrival of summer in Emera, Tealmer has changed into his green, leafy form. He's noticed some of the great artists in our club, and would like some art of himself enjoying some summer fun. Be sure to check out the contest section of the first post for more information. The contest is open for 2 whole months, so you should have plenty of time to get your entries in.

Upcoming Event!

I am planning on a new event for each season, and I'm looking for ideas for the summer one which will be starting in July. I have a couple of things planned already, but I'd like to know if any of you have ideas on things you would like to happen. They could be contests, new challenges, new badges etc.

Please submit your ideas via PM.

Discussion Topic

If you could go on the ultimate geocaching adventure anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I'd love to go to Finland, and not just to meet up with Finhawk, though that is definitely part of it, lol. I've always wanted to go to Finland, and I think geocaching in such beautiful nature would be amazing.

Sorry this took me so long, but thank you for the Earth Month badge and the prize. : D

Oooooh, I got a neat idea for the art contest. Before I head back home for July, I gotta remember to do one preparatory thingie before I can start on it. ^^

I can't seem to come up with any event ideas or otherwise at the moment but I'll try to remember to PM you if I do get any in the future.

And onto the next thing: Yes, do come geocache with me someday. Or perhaps I should come over to New Zealand. Once I finish school. And have a job. And money. Which is probably never. :b Though I'd rather begin my geocaching adventures around the world with small steps and start with the Nordics. Sweden and Norway especially seem like great neighbors to invade for some caches. :,D

Welcome to the club Flamaij!

Have you checked out the first post? We have an art contest running at the moment, and we also have some online caches hidden throughout PH for you to find.

Thank you <:

I'm afraid I have to pass on that art contest because I'm not that creative, but I was planning on finding the online caches because they look really fun!

I also edited out my password because I saw the other members were asked to do that - if that's alright?

Oooh, yes, haha I forgot to say about the password.

No problem about the art contest, hopefully some of our future contests will suit you more.

Have fun finding those online caches!

SUMMER EVENT!

It's finally here! The event you have been waiting for!
...
What do you mean you haven't been waiting for it?
...
Well, it's here anyway, whether you were waiting for it or not!

This summer we are getting into the spirit of the season, celebrating the best parts of summer and also the release of the relatively new Emera Beach. The event is split into 2 parts, traditional and virtual. You can choose to enter in both, or just one (or none if you really want, but there's no prizes for that!). This event runs from today until the 31st of August 23:59 (PH time).

TRADITIONAL

One of my favourite things to do in the summer is cool off in the water, whether it be at the beach, in a river or lake, or at the local pools. For this part of the event, your job is to find a geocache that is near water of some kind. It could be any type of water, from any source (man-made or natural). Then simply snap a picture of the cache and the water and post it here. All entrees will get a small participation prize, and will go in the draw to win a big prize. Each cache you submit a picture of gets you another slot in the raffle, so if you find 20 caches you get 20 entrees.
Please try not to show to much detail about the actual location of the cache, no spoilers please!

VIRTUAL

The virtual section of this event is helping to celebrate the new Emera beach that our wonderful PH staff have given us. Your job here is to find and catch one each of the pokemon that can be caught at the beach. When you have caught them all PM me a list of them, with links to each pokemon. As with the traditional section, each person who completes this task will get a small participation prize and will go in the draw for a big prize. You can enter again each time you get a full set of pokemon. The pokemon must be caught after the time of this post, previouse catches do not count. Please see the spoiler below for a list of the pokemon available at Emera Beach.

ART CONTEST

Don't forget to check out the art contest that is currently running! Poor Tealmer is feeling rather discouraged at the distinct lack of entrees....

Well, that's it for now. If you have any questions please ask, either here or via PM.

Happy hunting!

Just a reminder about our current event, and the art contest. The art contest is only open for about another week, and so far there are no entries...

Can anyone still interested in this club please let me know? It's rather discouraging to put so much effort into it when hardly anyone is participating...

Right, so I'm just going to go ahead and assume that people either aren't interested in the club anymore or they don't have time for it. I am not going to continue putting all this work into the club when there is so little response.

As a result I am going to close the club.

If anyone else is interested in running a Geocaching club they are welcome to do so, but please do not use any of the images, badges, storylines or characters (such as Tealmer) in your club.

Sorry to anyone who was still interested in this, but to be completely honest the stress of running this club is just something I really don't need right now. If there were more people involved and interested then I would make more of an effort to keep it going, but with so few being active it just doesn't seem worth it.

Please be aware that I am not blaming any of you for being inactive, sometimes things like this happen and there's not much you can do about it.

I wish you all the best in your future geocaching adventures.

And so, for the final time,

Happy Hunting
