Quote from FrostKittenSupport. And before people start over-abusing their exclamation points again, I realize there are people who like them, or who don't realize how dangerous a seizure can be. That said, I don't think our enjoyment should come at the medical expense of someone else--ever. If you like them, go find a "Screamers R Us" site somewhere, but they don't belong on a site where unsuspecting users could possibly be hurt by them.

i enjoy a good screamer now and then, but i believe it's selfish to prefer personal enjoyment over the well being of someone who may legitimately be physically injured by them - if a user wants to share a screamer, they should either have it clearly and extremely well labeled so younger or newer internet users who don't know what a screamer is don't click it (not everyone is internet lingo savvy), or forego posting it in public entirely and share it with friends via palpad or private message

(to be honest, i don't think screamers have any place on pokeheroes at all, but that's just my personal opinion)

I completly support this. To those against it: People can post these on their feeds and a text over them saying something like "Please help me level up my pokemon!" or something like that so you don't know which links are good and which links are screamers.

Full support! I feel like these these troll things are really getting out of control.

Also, you're forgetting something. We all hate to admit it, but everyone, especially older users can get a heart attack. You really want to be the reason something like this is triggered? (Not you, but the users who make these). I never thought troll bait was ever funny, and I sure don't now.

There are a lot of ways you can joke around and be funny without running the risk of hurting or killing someone. In other wards, this rule should include extreme troll items, like ones with extreme high sound. Your example of how flashing lights could be terribly bad for epileptic people is another great example of just how extreme these "little jokes" can be.

support! honestly, stuff like the ditto-konga are fun, but i guess the solution to that would be to make it have less noise or something. But for me, the biggest thing here is when somebody posts it as a link to, for example "Froakie Giveaway" and you press it, and "DO THAT KONGAAA!! I KNOW YOU CAN'T CONTROL YOURSELFF ANY LONNGAH!" maybe it should still be allowed, but with warning.

Full support. Even though nothing like this has happened to me on here, I know how horrible they can be.

And no one is going to warn someone that their link is a "screamer" link. The reason they post links to them is that they want people to be surprised and get scared over it. Otherwise, it'd take the "fun" out of it.

No support.

It will just take out the fun. :/

And you can actually do this to find out.

1) Right click on the link
2) Click "Open a new tab"
3) If it's a screamer, all you here is the scream. (Ik it's still scary)

But! You have time to exit it out.

Just take a quick glance at the URL.

Edit: And if someone links you to a screamer, blame the person :/ not the whole PH.

And I do agree with Autumn.

@Lilwan-
But people could die just because someone thinks it's "funny" to scare people. So you really won't support a LIFE OR DEATH thing?

But still I support, I get scared easily and find screamers all the time, it's annoying and even if they don't all stop they need to understand that it's not funny.

Life or death, I don't see why this isn't implemented yet, although I have never found a screamer link in my notifications, PMs or anything (and I click quite a few links X3), well, from what people are saying, it seems to be happening. I also am younger than you might think. So support (because I am making a point, even though I have said Support already :3)

Lilwan from what I know even the sound can trigger epileptic attack or just shock someone ... I am one of those people that get scared of sudden noises and well I freak out.. so if I see a "hidden screamer" and click it and my computer goes WAAAAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAAAAA! I can get a heart attack or something like that.. this is the matter of life and death for sure so I am still fully supporting this~

To be honest.. I know was neutral on this before. But as much as I want to support this I'M going with no support.

Not because I think its fun (I have never done it or gotten it before) but just because it's in the rules doesn't mean people will follow them. I'm sure people are still breaking the rules in PMS. However it wont go to staff attention unless the person notifies the staff on what has been broken. So just putting it up on the rules, people can still break them unless reported in my opinion.

I'm sorry, but I have to point out: By this logic there should be no rules on the site at all because people can break them all rather easily. People break the rules, they get reported, end of story.

If it's in the rules, yes there are a few people who will break it. But it will also GREATLY cut down on the number of them a lot.

I actually clicked a link the other day (it was a link I didn't recognize, so I didn't know what it was) and it was a bunch of quick flashing lights and loud noises. I'm not epileptic, but I am sensitive to sounds, and this gave me a major headache, forcing me to step away from the computer for several hours despite being in the middle of some stuff. (Let's put it this way: My laptop usually keeps the master volume down to 10, max, unless I'm watching something that's really really quiet that I can't hear at that level. If a TV is turned on, at mute, and I come into the house, I can tell that the TV is on because of the annoying white noise that muted tvs give.)

If there was a rule against this, it wouldn't have been posted, since I know the user who posted it follows the rules. Which means it's something that wouldn't have affected my health, even if it was only for a few hours.

So you're saying you support letting this health risk run rampant on the site, risking harm to other users just because even if it becomes a rule, a select few users won't follow the rules. Somehow, this point of view concerns me.

Here's another way of wording how I see this:
This thread: "I support certain drugs being against the law because they have harsh effects on the person taking them"

And this opinion: "I think that it should be legal for all drugs to be taken, because the people who want them are already going to break the law every chance they get just to get more of these illegal drugs! After all, they don't stop unless they're caught by cops, if they are already breaking the law."

ok I do see your point. (I'm not even going to the drug topic because that's off topic but...). I am sure people are still using click bots. Which are against the rules. But those are easy for the staff to find out because the system is keeping track of the interaction points. It's easy for them to find the user doing it. But even if this rule was implemented staff will have a hard time finding a user doing it on their own unless the system it's self can red flag a PM letting the staff know that their is something wrong with the PM. Other wise how else will they know about the screamer? It would have been reported. So basically I stay where I stand, sorry.

I have to support this and dark egg, your saying you don't want the rule because you don't want to take the time to report things?

I never said anything about taking time to report things. Not even close. You can think of whatever you want but I am entitled to my own opinion. So, with that being said I am in no support and I stick by it. Probably wont post here again.

This suggestion has my full support. These things can kill people and I honestly do not see the 'fun' in someone else's death. If you want to share screamers with your friends just do it on Skype or something, not in a public feed.

DarkEgg: By that logic the whole no begging rule should not be a rule as well. The mods cannot go through each conversation/feed to pick out links to screamers BUT it is up to the users to report rule breakers. Besides I know for a fact that some a lot of people would stop posting screamers if it were against the rules. Yes I agree it won't stop screamers completely (just like the no begging rule doesn't stop begging) but it does make it so that the user in question can get a warning(and a potential ban if they have enough warnings) for posting a screamer.

Support. This site should be appropiate for all ages and the last time I checked, scaring kids and potentially harming them is not kid friendly.
