Chapter One: The Seed of Disaster Is Sowed

Water, Rock, Ice, Ground, Steel, Fighting,
Electric, Dragon, Poison, Flying, Fire, Bug,
Psychic, Normal, Grass, Fairy, Ghost, Dark

The Eighteen Types in a world of Pokemon live in mostly peaceful times. It isn't always at peace, for territory and supply demands cause fights on the regular. But for the most part, the Pokemon Clans live in harmony. Yet how long can this last? Is it possible that a turn may cause chaos and disrupt the Balance? Take a peek, and see...

Today is a big day for the Clans. The sun is shining, Bird Pokemon are singing, the weather is pristine. It is a perfect setting for a major event; The Ceremony of Decision. This was indeed the agreed upon day of the season cycle that would allow the Fleshed Four Clans to meet in one place in the ultimate show of peace amid Pokemon. Young Hatchlings were eagerly waiting to be escorted to the CenterPeace, the one place the four clan territories meet, for the Ceremony. Other Pokemon, specifically already named Apprentices, Warriors, Healers, and Raisers, watch over the of age Hatchlings with fondness at their excitement, while elders reminisce on their own Ceremonies. Although there is an air of worry and nerves.

Over the last couple months, many Hatchlings had been born. Amid those hatched, there was a strange increase of Dual Dark and Dual Ghost Pokemon, alongside stillborns who were of Pure Type of either of the mentioned. SpiritClan, the realm of Ghosts, has been quiet in regard to the matter. What could this mean for the Fleshed Clans and the Passed Clans??

Ferredux stood at attention with the rest of the Twinklingsight Clan members. There was chatter amongst the rank and file members of the clan, but he quickly silenced them. This was a sacred ceremony observed by countless generations before them. It was to be respected and Ferredux would not tolerate any disrespect or unruliness. Besides, something seemed off... Ferredux had been alive for many moons yet he could never recall a time when there were so few Hatchlings. In addition, the proportion of Ghost and Dark types born this year was frankly alarming. Recollecting this, Ferredux tightened their grip on their glaive, wary that something greater was at play. Perhaps the gods the healers so often communed with were unsatisfied this year? No, Ferredux did not subscribe to superstition, he believed in facts. As his mind raced he remembered the words of his leader; "I appreciate your vigilance Ferredux but you must learn to relax. Not everything is a conspiracy. When you hear hoofbeats, think of Rapidash, not Glastrier." Perhaps his leader was right, perhaps this was simply a natural anomaly and besides, his visage was already intimidating to many Hatchlings, he didn't need to exacerbate that issue by having his weapon drawn. With that he disassembled his double bladed glaive and mounted it back on his arms. He was surveying all the potential clan members from afar when he noticed a familiar presence near his shoulder. Immediately recognizing who it was, he turned around with a hint of exasperation in his voice. "Why must you still perform your antics around me? You were once my soldier and although you were rather ... mischievous ... you died a heroic and noble death. Are you not yet satisfied with that honor? Furthermore, this summit is only for the clans of the living."

Morior quickly distanced themselves from Ferredux, giggling slightly while doing so. "Sir, you know as well as I do that I am never satisfied." She then attempted to tickle Ferredux's neck with one of her feelers to no avail. Realizing that attempting to tickle a metallic, hardened soldier such as Ferredux was fruitless, Morior quickly shifted gears to making humorous comments about the hatchlings. "Looks like we got a rather large helping of Ghost types this year," she said with a smile "SpiritClan will never be more livelier! There appears to also be a solid amount of possible TwinklingsightClan members, if your ugly mug doesn't make them cry back to their BirthClan!" she said nudging Ferredux in the shoulder. Realizing that Ferredux was getting more impatient with her by the minute, Morior decided it would be a good idea to bail out rather than be on the receiving end of that nasty plasma glaive. "Anyways, catch you later you big ol' clanker" With that parting shot, Morior glided away laughing to herself before settling in a nearby tree to watch the ceremony from afar.

It had been quite some time since Myrddin had attended a Ceremony of Decision. In recent years, just making the journey had been too difficult on his old bones but now that he had been reborn, things were nice and easy now. Though that couldn't be said for the young ones. Gossip was about the only thing he could keep up with before his rebirth and the CinderSky welps were always a hot topic. There were more ghost types than normal, litwicks, driftloons, and gastly making up most of the children who had crowded around him clamouring for stories. Myrddin didn't like the sound of that. There should always be room for a wide range of pokemon to have fun with, but something was throwing that balance out. It worried him, but as he ambled towards his old clan, intent on giving his greetings to those who were once friends, he resolved to keep that locked up tight and away. Today was not a day for worries, but for celebration

Buried in the dirt, Sumi hummed nonchalantly as he observed the milling pokemon before him. Opening his mouth to let out a yawn, he lazily wondered where he could go to next for a nice nap. The dirt in the ceremonial grounds wasn't very good, much too dry and full of worries to be anything comfortable. Ah, be recently, all the good mud spots have been drying up, even the ones by the raging river bank that always threatened to pull even the most experienced of swimmers under the currents. Sumi liked it when things were nice and relaxed, where the biggest problem he had to deal with were hatchings who had stepped on a thorn accidentally. Shaking his head, Sumi buried himself deeper into the dry dirt and closed his eyes, hoping to rest a bit before everything began in earnest

Angel was just taking care of the eggs and young mons, being sent egg after egg after egg. It was a little overwhelming for her, but she stuck to her duty. No matter how hungry, dehydrated, or tired she was, she wouldn't abandon these eggs till they fell asleep. Angel had to stay up 9 hours to take care of 12 eggs. She thought she was done and could go to sleep, but nope. She got sent another 8 eggs to take care of. She groaned, but instead took care of the eggs. Feeding, whining, drinks, whining, sleep, WHINING. Non-stop whining. All 20 eggs were now awake, whining. Angel groaned and just kept on feeding them, because that's all she could do. She eventually had them all asleep in the next 7 hours. By the time she sat up, she fell down and fainted from exhaustion. Once she awoke from her slumber, she noticed a ton of Ghost Types were sitting in her cabin, like any other time this year. She's getting more and more suspicious.

Bubble was out, wandering the livelihood of Spiritclan. But something seemed wrong. Very wrong, infact. There's a sudden rage of Ghost Types popping in the place. Left, right, front, back. Bubble looked around, noticing the sudden rush. On the bright side, he's gonna have more friends. On a bad note, all of this seems oh so very wrong. Bubble pondered about the amount of Ghost Types suddenly being born. Bubble shrugged it off, maybe it was just more Ghost Types breeding. He went out to hunt for food again, like he was previously doing. He suddenly stopped in his tracks. No. This is not just more Ghost Types breeding. Something's going on. Whatever it is, it's bad.

In a special pond of water that was reserved just for her as Mika anxiously swam back and forth with their head down staring at the rippling water that would be made every time they moved, honestly even though she was the leader representative to represent all water types that reside in the Rockysea Clan as she wasn't the biggest fan of attending this ceremonies, simply finding them to overstimulating for their liking as a million thoughts on controllably raced in their head. (What if I make us look bad on accident? What if I mess up the ceremony somehow? What if something goes wrong in the ceremony in the first place?) she thoughts as Mika let out a soft wine as they shake their head while trying her best to gain their composure as well ease down the intense anxiety, as this is definitely the place that she would least want to be noticed being all anxiety ridden, they had to keep up a good and confident image to percent after all.
-
Setting up a little arts and crafts corner to keep the little ones entertain if they wish to do so, as Sebastian was also there offering berries of whatever one they made choose from their satchel to give out as a little snack for the kids, as Sebastian refuse to join in the arts and crafts due to it being too messy even if Esther kept trying to at least get them to do one craft. "Esther for the million time, I'm not getting my precious mane potentially dirty with paint and especially not my hooves, do you know how long it takes to wash that kind of stuff out of these!?" He protests well his hot pink horn gave a soft glow well levitating a berry to a young hatchling due to them being part psychic type, "Oh come on you're no fun, it's not going to kill ya, at least you can wash that stuff out in the first place!" He giggles out at them while doing some painting themselves as they used their psychic powers to float the brush to paint on the paper, occasionally looking up when a young one would eagerly show them their art piece as they would give them high praise and encourage them, with Sebastian letting out a light sigh as he went back to focusing to giving the kids the little berry snack he was offering.
-
Blitzy was peacefully painting with their hoof by lightly dipping it into the paint and then carefully pressing it on the paper, with Chompers painting beside them by holding the paintbrush in their mouth that they greatly restrain their jaw power to not break it in half, when you had enough strength alone to tear a automobile apart then snapping stuff in half was a cakewalk for them. Being quite a messy one as they soon flicked a good chunk of paint onto Blitzy cheek, "Chompers, I am not a canvas!" They bark back to them while looking over as Esther soon caught eye of this when they were done looking at another picture, calmly floating over a rag so they could wipe off the paint as Esther looking down and over at Chompers. "Chompers, we PAINT the paper, NOT our friend sweetheart, okay?" "S-Sorry Biltzy..." "It's okay Chompers, I know you didn't mean to!" Esther let out in a light stern voice as Chompers quickly apologize as Esther smiles upon hearing Blitzy quickly forgiving them, with the two of them going back to painting and Chompers being a lot more careful and not nearly as messy as before.

(Finally, my day, my favorite days out of all the day, the day where I can be out back in society without being chased back to that unbearable Clan!) Kokoro pleasantly thought to themselves as they wish this day could be every day in their life, closing their eyes as they did so before slowly reopening them and glance around the frolicking and playing kids that was scattered around to an uncountable number, sitting on a rock a little farther off to the side as they watch kids flee in terror soon as they caught eye of them. (And that's kid number 75 who ran off, let's see if I reach the record of 100 again...) Kokoro talks to themselves in their head again as they show no reaction when they did as this was about every tuesday of a reaction for them, besides what did they expect one day would tell every kid from the moment that they could walk to not interact with a Absol, as long as you didn't want a impending doom disaster following you by simply looking at them and especially talking to them, not that they could change this fact as in reality their species would actually try to warn incoming disasters when they happen, but they can't help that people will tend to believe a old stupid tale then coming from one of the species of this pokemon themselves.

Sparring it out as kids kept a good distance to not be hit accidentally by an attack with fascination, with Trishanku attempting to cut them with their wing as Haku blocked it with their biggest arm scale, shortly following with a dragon claw from the other arm that they slash across the front of the wing, Trishanku letting out a hiss as they retreat In the time being before beginning to step back. "Haha, I see that you're getting better at countering and blocking Haku from my wing slashes!" "Thank but don't have me take all the credit, it thanks to you that I'm getting so good in the first place!" Haku chuckles out as Trishanku respond back with a happy smirk towards them, "let's take a break for now, we don't want to make a ruckus during the ceremonies do we?" he suggest as Haku quickly nods in agreement back, "Of course!" They agree without hesitation as they quickly run to sit beside Trishanku who has already sat down on the grass that had a good view of the ceremony up ahead, Trishanku not at all worried about the injury of the scratch running across their wings as they could get it treated later after the ceremony.

A fiery ball of energy, more literally than not, Malao could be seen in a woosh of fur as he bounded around the border of Cindersky. The little fire type was a smiling ball of energy as he lept from one branch to the next, never touching the ground as he did so. Being a monferno had its perks, definitely, but not for the Pokémon around him, unfortunately. He cheered, hooted, and hollered to himself as he swung between trees, letting the wind rush through his scruffy fur, somehow messing it up more than it already was. His green bandana flapped in the wind behind him as he did stupidly risky tricks between trees. "The Ceremony is today!" The little monkey cheered as he nearly tumbled out of a tree. The landing was clumsy, but he managed not to fall on his face or rear into the dirt, so he counted it as a win in his mind. Without breaking for even a brief moment, he began to go at it with a nearby tree, punching it lightly as if it was a punching bag, pretending to beat up some criminal or fight against another tribe one day. A proud one was the naive little Malao, his recent evolution only growing his ego more and more.

He laughed and chuckled to himself, the apprentice using the slight time to himself to practice fighting techniques. Although sloppy in nature, at least it was an attempt.

Kitty, nervous, quietly followed her leader and the rest of her clan towards the ceremony. She'd be staying in her home clan, but that didn't make her feel any more confident in not embarrassing herself or her clan. At least if she did, she wouldn't be embarrassing two clans...

She observed the Monferno bouncing around hollering with excitement and couldn't help but to smile to herself. Today was supposed to be a happy day, and she should be too. As long as everything went smoothly, everything would return to pretty much normal the next day, and she couldn't wait to start training again.

Linh Hon held her feathers to her face. She quickly fanned some more toxic fumes out of her cave. While they weren't that bad in open air, her cave didn't have any sort of open air. Grabbing her mortar and pestle she continued her work. When she touched a red flower, she paused for a second. Could she still go back? Was she even still alive?

She crushed the flower before that thought could form. No matter what anyone would say, this was her new home. She needed to remind herself of this fact. She then grabbed a purple flower and started to grind down the pulp. Using this pulp she mixed it into her herbal tea. Once she drank the tea, some of her more red feathers faded away turning a more cyan color.

Malao watched as his clan began the trek to the ceremony, observing from his spot by the tree. Not wanting to get left behind like he almost did last year, the little monkey made his move. A flick of his tail and a quick jump had him in the branches of the tree once again, bounding between the leaves. He followed the group from above for a short while before dropping down next to the Torracat almost silently, grinning with a "Hi Kitty!" that was a little louder than it should've been. It startled the other pokemon around them for a moment, but they all either shrugged or rolled their eyes when they saw who it was.

He chuckled at the antic, standing on his two feet and walking with his arms folded behind his head like he had been there all along, humming softly to himself as he trekked alongside his clanmates. In all reality, he wasn't quite sure what to expect, keeping it to himself that he hadn't paid much attention the year prior. He mumbled something about 'hoping it wasn't too boring,' before turning his gaze up to the sky and watching the clouds as he walked along.

As the Pokemon of the RockySeaClan trekked towards the CenterPeace for the Ceremony of Decision, there was a small group of Hatchlings happily chasing each other and generally goofing around. However, there was one Hatchling who wasn't amid the playful group, ostracized and kept away from the other Hatchlings even those of their own blood family.

Eris was a Shiny Snorunt stumbling amid the Clan members, trying to not get in anyone's way and not get left behind. Her light blue Snow Hat body twitched occasionally as she looked around worriedly. So far so good in terms of being left alone... Eris was, honestly, scared for the Ceremony. The Snorunt line wasn't something she was a fan of, let alone the final form Glalie. It was probably more inline with her bias in regards to her blood family.....

As the members of the TwinklingSightClan began their trek to the CenterPeace for the Ceremony of Decision, there was a group of Hatchlings and Apprentices walking/floating together. The Hatchlings were nervous about the Ceremony but the Apprentices were kindly encouraging them and giving them last minute advice. However, there was one Apprentice who was trying to stay near the Deputy and Leader of the Clan, rather unimpressed by the chattering of the Hatchlings and Apprentices.

Octavia was a rather unique little Floette and she knew it well. She was one in a million as she was born with an Eternal Flower, something that hadn't been seen in centuries. This, accompanied by her advanced skills made her predisposed to be somewhat vain. She constantly was in search of shiny trinkets and lovely materials to adorn herself with...

The Clans made their ways to the CenterPeace. The CenterPeace was a special place of Peace, due to agreements made centuries before. No fighting and no war was allowed at the CenterPeace. The area had special sectioning, which encouraged inter Clan relations. There were areas for the to-decide Hatchlings, an area for Apprentices, for Warriors, for Raisers, and even Healers. Near the center was a formation designated for Deputies and Leaders. There was also a higher point for a 'special guest', usually a Legendary/Mythical, who would oversee the Ceremonies and discussions.

A few meters away from the ceremony, three dark types lay in wait and observed the hatchlings with interest. “Remember, we are to capture any dark type hatchlings we can find. They will make fine members of Shatter Clan’s future conquest.” Execor said to the other two. “Right boss, I see an Impidimp over at Twinklingsight, a Sneasel at Rockysea, and a Stunky over at Cindersky.” Delune quickly responded. “ Good, good,” Execor said “Once the proceedings begin, Baccrux will fly us down and we will capture all of these dual dark types. Do you hear this Baccrux.” Baccrux was not paying attention and his three heads were flailing about erratically. “Baccrux, do you understand?” Baccrux then quickly snapped to attention however he was unable to make out what Execor said “What did the grass say?” He asked. Delune, not one to miss an opportunity to cause mayhem, quickly retorted with “The grass called you a coward.” Baccrux did not take too kindly to this as his immediate response was “DIE GRASS DIE” before he used flamethrower. Setting the grass ablaze and starting a small wildfire. “BACCRUX,” Execor snarled, before regaining control of his emotions, “we will have much to talk about later but for now we must abandon this mission.” With that, the three dark types slinked back into the forest and vanished from sight.

Beginning to smell fire as Haku couldn't help but to smell sometimes...burning nearby? Causing them to shortly bump Trishanku on their wings, "Hey um...Trishanku do you smell fire?" He asked with a confused tone in their voice as Trishanku didn't even look over and only nod there head "Yes. we should go put it out this instant, it could pose a thread to hatchlings and we definitely don't want it to spread to the ceremony!" They reply in a calm tone before getting up and rushing towards the source of the smell, with Haku screaming "wait!" As they ran after them to follow also.
-
Beginning to smell a wiff of fire as Esther immediately raised his head with concerned and looked over to the direction that the smell was coming from, "I-I think there's a fire going on nearby, we got to evacuate the hatchling near that area so they don't get hurt by the fire!" He cries out in the frantic tone as Sebastian quickly stand up raising their head towards Esther. "You go, I'll take care of all the kids here as you are a raiser after all!" He confidently replied as Esther with s down at them to shake their head before running off, Sebastian quickly doing their best to ease the Hatchlings at the arts and crafts center concern and the smell of dangerous they were smelling.
-
"...It looks like the bad boy struck again..." They let out a long sigh while mumbling under their breath as they immediately rushed towards the smell of the fire at a fast pace, reaching there before everyone else as they squint their eyes towards the spreading fire before thankfully noticing some way too familiar footprints. Shortly following them into the woods as they ran at a high pace while following the footsteps, "I hope someone is prepared for a little smacking!" They mumbled under their breaths again as they soon began screaming out, "BACCRUX, YOU STOP RUNNING WHEREVER YOU ARE!" They screech out in the woods in a clearly not so happy tone.
_
Unable to smell the fire from where they were at as Mika nervously watch everyone beginning to get in place, many so eager to finally pick what Clan they're going to make their home in and to become a representing face of it, to her all she cared about that they we're seeming to have fun. Everything seem to be going well so far, and they would love for it to be kept that way as they would tell anyone that was interested in maybe joining there's as they would come up to to her themselves, explaining in great detail what hers had to offer and what the habitats were like and all the different areas, having a great time doing so about as they felt a sense of fondness and enjoyment describing their home that they didn't plan to leave in the slightest with such nice and praising words.

Kitty twitched a smile at Malao and waved her tail at him.

"Are you nervous for the ceremony?" She asked.

She padded along quietly, feeling a little better now that someone had come to talk with her. But not knowing what to expect ahead still made her nervous. Something smelled off fire, but she couldn't tell from where. Was there a ceremonial fire ahead?

Linh looked at those in the center somberly. They didn't like coming to these group events anymore. Hopefully, they wouldn't be recognized by anyone.

...Do I really wish to still be alone?

Shutting down that thought she brought her fan back up to her face. Quickly she hid any tears that came from her eyes. No one could know of her mistakes. She would make sure that fact was kept true.

"Nervous?" The monkey chuckled, looking over at his fellow apprentice. "Never been more excited! What is there to be nervous about! All of these different pokemon are going to be in the same place at the same time! The mixture of types will be.. be..." He threw his hands up in the air as he found the word, "insane!"

The smile on Malao's face was large a giddy, like a child on his way to a birthday party. "Just think! So many 'mon we haven't met! New apprentices, new faces, and maybe even some new friends! I wanna meet a dual fire type from another clan!" He giggled, "I already know all the fire types in ours, and yeah, while ours is WAY better, I still wanna meet some new people!"

He kept rambling on excitedly about all the new possibilities and friends they could make and the people they could meet. It made a question flash in the mind of the pokemon around him that was all too common.

Did he EVER stop talking?

Gre-Ninja wakes up from sleep and says "Boop Boop Boop" & thinks "that would be said by a magicarp haha.
Then he goes for practicing near a water fall in mountains to learn new moves, but he wasn't able to find any opponents cause it was too high ground maybe, when he was returning to his home he found a crystal locket, he doesn't to who this locket belongs so he takes that locket and goes to home.

Kitty thought about what he said for a moment before nodding in agreement.

"I guess you're right about that," she said shyly, "but honestly I'd much rather take a nap then start conversations. I'm sure you'll be able to make plenty of friends!"

She frowned and started thinking to herself. She could make a great warrior if she tried hard enough, but was that really what she wanted? Hurting others felt... wrong. But hunting was so much fun and she didn't want to give that up. Besides, it wasn't likely that the clans would fight any time soon she hoped.

Malao scrunched up his nose with a confused look. "A nap?" The monkey questioned. "What good would that do?" He walked along, grabbing a piece of grass along the way, sticking it in his mouth, and waving it back and forth with thought. "Isn't that kinda the opposite of how meeting new people works?"

Before the other fire type could even answer his question, he continued, "I'm really good at making friends! I love meeting new people! Every Pokémon is so different and unique and I wanna meet every type I can." The monferno meant it too, trying to talk to and mingle with everyone in the clan. The little apprentice was more extroverted than anyone else in CinderSky, and he flaunted it proudly. He glanced ahead at the pokemon walking in front, watching the trees pass overhead as they continued to travel towards the meeting point.

Kitty's tail wagged happily.

"You're definitely right about that! I'm so curious about all the other pokemon, especially the ones that are different colors than the rest. But id never get the courage to talk to them. Besides, I've got you, don't I?" She purred.

They had been walking for quite awhile now, but she didn't mind. Aside from her rising anxiety, that is. But she could faintly make out the mixture of scents, old and new, not far ahead; they shouldnt be too far away now.

Malao continued to ramble on about all of the people he was hoping to see. "I've never seen a fire type that is from a different clan, have you? Do you think we'll get to meet one?"

He walked along the cat pokemon, nodding at what she had to say. "True, true, I can make friends with just about anyone if I really tried!" Malao chuckled, the monkey pokemon taking the grass piece out of his mouth and flicking it to the ground. "And different colors? You mean like the ones that look kinda different? Like the off-color Flareon we saw in camp? I just thought they were normal. Do they get.. like.. special abilities for looking different? Are they rare?" The monkey pokemon had only really met one shiny pokemon before, but Malao wasn't exactly observant when it came to little differences like that.
