In the futuristic city of Suecester, the air tastes of ash. Crossing the streets, you'll see people hurrying along, hoods up, ignoring the desperation and the squalor that seems to settle like residue on the city's broken concrete. For years, war has decimated this world. What remains of society crouches in the gutters, not dissimilar to the rats which call these filthy alleyways home.

But as you walk along, you'll spy children in the cracks. Making games with ripped up tires and telling fairy tales of endless green fields while their fingers tug longingly at the dead weeds by their toes.

It makes you smile, shake your head, and move on.

Yet five days from now, many children around the city are going to go missing. And someone important to you will be among them.

What will you do, when that beloved person is gone? When it seems as though they have been plucked from this world by the supernatural itself?

What can you do?

For the children who will go missing... what's happening doesn't seem like such a surprise at first. After all, they have spent the past few months visiting their beloved Fairyland in their dreams. They've made friends, they've had real candy, and for the first time ever they've seen a tree outside of their worn school textbooks.

Every night, when they fall asleep, they wake up in paradise. They spend the night playing, and when they wake up they're refreshed and ready to begin another day in the dystopia of Suecester.

So when they don't wake up one night... they might have a few questions.

Especially as the world itself begins to disintegrate around them, and what was once a dream becomes a nightmare.

1. PH rules apply.

2. Characters must be balanced. They may be as smart or strong as you like, but above all, they must be a fairly flawed person and not an idealised form.

3. Do not control other's characters. You have your own characters for a reason. Characters will only make their choices under the person whom they belong to. Example: Example lunged forward, her fist at the ready to punch Example2 and relished in his squeak of fear. The person controlling Example cannot make Example2 squeak in fear. It is up to Example2's roleplayer to make that call of what Example2 will do.

4. Try to keep your characters relatively consistent. They can change over time, of course, but the change shouldn't come out of nowhere.

5. Paragraph style and third person. This style means that you will write your posts like a book. Such as- ("Hello," she said. "It's nice to meet you." She held out her hand for a handshake.) opposed to (Hello, it’s nice to meet you *I said and held my hand out for a handshake* ) This is to keep the posts clean and as easy to understand as possible. There is no minimum word count, but try not to do one liners.

6. If you are going out of character, then please put it in brackets. It can be confusing otherwise.

7. Your character MUST be human. If I know you well, you can negotiate to roleplay as one of the antagonists.

8. This roleplay won’t go into particular graphic detail, but due to the dark themes in any work of dystopia, please only sign up if you are over the age of 13.

9. Be active. If you sign up, then please try and post at least once every few days. If you are inactive without any explanation for over a week, you will be put on the blacklist.

History: Abeni Madaki grew up with rather strict but distant parents. Every so often, they'd tell her how to behave, but most of the time, they hired trainers and personal tutors for her. They were so busy with their careers that they hardly got to know their daughter. Abeni, for most of her life, was left to her own devices. She did struggle at times, feeling like she could never rely on anyone but herself, but she managed. She remembered everything she had been taught, kept to herself for the most part, and always followed the rules. Even as a child, she was stiff, uniform, formal. Despite her very limited guidance in morality from others, she went on to become her own guide, seeing the injustices that many faced, and seeking to become a protector of the people. (Ahem, very vague, I know. Her backstory will be expanded upon in the story, don't worry.)

A bit noisy but always upbeat and positive, Roy has cemented himself as a big sister figure for many of the kids on the streets, jumping in to take care of them whenever she can. History:
Although born to a high class family, Roy was thrown to a wet nurse with money when he was born as his pink eyes were believed to be the mark of the devil. When he was old enough to reasonably fend for himself, Roy was pushed onto the streets to make room for other babies. It didn't matter to her though, when a boy just a few years older than her took Roy under his wing, gave her a name, and taught her how to survive. Her big brother, Ivan, was the one who first dyed her hair, dunking his head into the dirt and rubbing the blond strands until they took on a dirty, earthen colour. To avoid drawing attention, he told her, and Roy has been doing the same ever since. Ivan was the template, the person who Roy always aspired to be even after the her older brother left to find a better job to support them, Roy wholeheartedly believed in him and stayed behind to look after the other street rats. One day, one day he too will get a job and scrounge up enough money to feed everyone, but until he's old enough, he'll settle for stealing scraps and letting the younger kids win at whatever game they've created this time around

Left on the streets after his family passed away after fleeing from one of the many many wars, Ivan learned at a young age how to fight and fend for himself. He was known as a snarling dog to the other kids, always snapping and biting, never letting anyone close. It only took one look at wide innocent pink eyes for that facade to crack, however, and soon there was a small whelp trailing after Ivan wherever he went. Looking after Roy proved to be a hassle but Ivan cherished his little brother anyways, vowing to give him a life worth living. So the first moment he got, he grabbed a job and started working, all for the dream that one day, he and Roy could live together with warm food on the table and new clothes on their backs

From a family of Chinese descent, Jing Yu was an energetic child growing up in the bustling city of Shanghai. Both of his parents were doctors whom were madly in love. So much that, it was a wonder why they brung up a child in the first place when nothing could stand between them.

Despite the neglect Jing Yu suffered as a child, it didn't really affect his childhood. He was still a ball of energy everywhere he went. He still was an intelligent kid who knew his way around people. Furthermore, to fill the empty space his elders left him since he was a child, Jing Yu's socialness made up for it. Thus growing up, reading people by their mood and expression was just like breathing air to him. It was natural.

She doesn’t have much PTSD from it, apart from the lack of emotion and trust she has towards people, Xuanji doesn’t know how to convey her thoughts. Her parents have never liked her as much as her brother, and tried to raise her with love, and fails. They secretly blame her for his death but they pretend to not show it, and yes Xuanji does know that.
