A friendly desert community where the sun is hot, the moon is beautiful, and mysterious lights pass overhead while we all pretend to sleep.
Welcome to Night Vale.
You do not know how you got here.
The desert spans wide.
Everything about this place is strange.
It almost seems like every conspiracy theory here is true.
And they are.
You know this place as Night Vale. It is somewhere in the American SouthWest.
But how you got here? That’s what you’re trying to figure out.
Something is happening in this town. And there is also something preventing you from leaving.
With only the ominous advice from the radio (is it really advice?), you must figure out this secret.
But remember: There is something always watching.
The Plot

You have no
idea how you got here. You woke up, sand in your hair, mouth, other
orifices, surrounded by people you don’t think you met. You all
cannot remember how you got here.
You look around, nothing looking right.
You check your watch, and it says it is currently 3 AM. You realize that is not the case, for the sun is high in the sky. A radio sounds in your pocket. You do not remember ever having a portable radio, but it is here now. To your confusion, you cannot get rid of it. But do you even want it? Yes.
The radio host speaks about current events, and shockingly, it mentions your group. Actually, it seems to be only mentioning your group (along side government mandated topics, as well as current disasters).
You learn this is a place called Night Vale. All you know is you want to leave, but there is something… preventing you…

Personality: Maverick normally doesn't take anything seriously. Most would think that there is not a single intelligent thought in his mind due to the way he acts. He can be very bold and daring, seemingly acting on impulse. His insane personality tends to drive people away for fear they'll be roped into something dangerous. At the end of the day though, Maverick is extremely caring. He just has a horrible way of showing it. He can be extremely loyal-- when he takes the time to make an effort and show it. Befriend Maverick, and you'll have a strong and worthy friend. Get on his bad side and... well, let's hope you don't find out for yourself.
Appearance: Maverick has long lengths of unruly silver and electric blue hair. His eyes are mismatched from a freak lab accident. His eyes are green and grey, with his grey eye having slightly worse vision than his green one. Maverick usually has his hair tied back as to not get in the way. He wears jeans, boots, and a graphic t-shirt. He is pretty short, standing at 5'3.
Fears: The death or rejection of science and knowledge... He also isn't a fan of clowns
Backstory: Maverick loves science. Before he appeared in this world, he would spend his days working in labs. He took as many science classes as possible and even worked as an assistant after school. That's how he got involved in an accident that permanently ruined the vision in his left eye... You would think someone as smart as him would know better than to drip chemicals into his eye- but in his defense, he was certain that he made a potion that would allow him to see in the dark

Appearance:
Personality: A usually quiet individual, Cielo keeps to himself unless he has something sarcastic or snarky to say. He's an avid reader and will take any interest in old literature, and often times quotes said old literature. He is very poetic, and will mutter to himself. People call him odd and strange. Speaks in a slight British accent, and he has a calming voice, at least in his opinion.
Fears: Being alone. Even though you'll usually find him alone, he does quite enjoy the company of others and finds the reassurance that somebody is there with him comforting.
Backstory: A loner who stayed in a library all day, reading the day away. more tba

Appearance: Short, standing at around 5'4. She has waist-length, wavy golden hair, the tips died blue. She wears a pair of round glasses, and wears a light sweater over a polo shirt, a red tie tucked neatly under the sweater. She has Heterochromia, one eye being golden and the other being azure.
Personality: A unknowingly sassy, cool, mature girlboss who dont take crap from no one. She stays calm and collected in the face of trouble. She seems to be constantly be thinking, brainstorming, plotting. She never misses a beat, always staying a step ahead of the competition.
Fears: physical ouch.

Appearance: He stands very awkwardly and usually fidgets with the onyx ring on his finger. Very soft blond hair that frames his face. Red eyes can be seen through his hair. He wears a dark shirt over a puffy red sweater with ripped jeans and checkered sneakers. A belt loops around his waist.
Personality: Unlike his grunge outfit, he's very soft and tries to be considerate to everyone he meets. If anyone rejects his friendship, he'd probably hand them a lollipop and walk away. Sometimes he is very open but that is only when he is around people he thoroughly knows. If not, he'd hold a normal conversation. Sucrose also enjoys Rock songs.
