Kaori faced the ground, her headache increasing by the minute. Why
was her head hurting like this? Did something happen while she was
unconscious inside the laboratory? She tried calming down, but
crazy ideas ran through her mind. As she started to panic, she
remembered that she had her little handbag with her. Quickly
opening it, she found a bottle with pink stickers. She immediately
pulled out one of the stickers and peeled off the backside,
revealing the sticky side. She stuck it on her arm, and immediately
calmed down. The stickers were for extreme emergencies whenever she
started hyperventilating or panicking like crazy. She remembered
her doctor's words, from when she was alive. "Kaori, you have to
be extremely careful. One ounce of worry or panic can cause severe
lung endangerment. But don't worry. These stickers will help. But
use them only in emergencies. I don't have that many. But here,
have this cat. His name is Taro, and he will be your. . . what do
they call it? Ah, right. Stress reliever" he had said, handing
over Taro. But Taro wasn't here right now, and she really needed
him.

Julius sat, scrolling through his memories. He made illusions
around himself and watched them like videos. He laughed at the
pranks and jokes. He chuckled and flipped to the next memory. It
was a video of Julius, only 16 years old standing in front of a
mirror, brushing his teeth. He smiled as he saw his little sister
come into view. Julius was right. Athena did look like his little
sister. He watched it intently as they both went to bed. He flipped
to the next one and gasped. It was the day he died. Him and his
sister strolled through the city. The illusion started to break up
and showed little snippets of them. Them walking, someone
screaming, Julius running, his sister telling him to stop. That was
the last time he saw here. He'd ran around a corner and into an
alleyway where he died. He sighed and dropped further down on the
ground.
"Hey Olivia, mind taking us to that hotel you were talking about?"
Athena sat up with some difficulty, it would be nice to just lie
here forever. She cast a worried glance at Kaori. Her friend was
having an obvious panic attack. Hopefully getting somewhere safe
and comfortable would help. And maybe she could go back for Taro...
“Sure! It’s so good to have company again!” Olivia said cheerfully
and prepared some hot chocolate for them, with marshmallows and ice
cream of course!
Lucinda sighed in relief and became a cat again, and jumped onto
Kaori’s shoulder.
"We'll take the ice-cream!" Athena quickly hands some to Kaori,
actual, cold, delicious ice-cream. She sat down on the desk chair
and stared out the window, already formulating a plan for getting
Taro back.
"He's... Okay. He has to be. And he'll be with us shortly." Upon
the last word, Athena opened the window and leapt out, taking care
to fly high enough not to be seen. A note fluttered to the ground
behind her. "Don't follow me."
Lucinda picked up the note, her first instinct was to follow, but
she didn’t know if Athena would appreciate the company; she turned
into a bird and flew off the window sill but not following Athena,
she just wanted the scout the area.
Athena went to a secluded alleyway, luckily it was still there, and
pulled out the gun. Would it work this way too? Only one way to
find out. Holding the gun at arm's length, in case something went
wrong, she pulled the trigger. A portal opened.
Scanning the area to make sure no one was around, Athena ran in,
sword at the ready. And was immediately shot by a stun gun as soon
as she reached the other side.
Felix was walking around exploring colder areas as always, he had
died to frostbite a week or two ago and is still kinda confused
about this whole afterlife thing, after a bit he goes to a frozen
lake and sits near the edge of it. He sighs and says, "This place
is kinda boring."
Stupid mistake, stupid mistake... She should have known that
this would be a trap. Why would the portal have been able to be
opened from the upperworld otherwise? Slowly, her mind shut down
and she fell into darkness.
(Some government people, possibly those who'd escaped her rampage
earlier.)
[@Moose, also, they're in New York. You're supposed to be in the
Afterlife]
Kaori ran outside to Athena. She instantly dragged Athena out of
the way and into a 'safe' corner. She pulled out her katana and
used Flower Breathing Fifth Form: Peonies of Futility, as her sword
let out 9 consecutive attacks that flow and weave in on themselves.
But the government workers shot her too, and she fell down,
unconcious.
*imagine being drugged 2 times in one day - couldn't be me*
